"I've had worse," he patted at Dave's shoulder as if to reassure him, but he was more focused on trying to calm the fuck down instead of anything else. "I don't think it's too deep."

Sollux was staring at Eridan's hip, and it took a few seconds (and a lot of hiccups) before he nodded and they were encased in psionics again. "I am -hic- never going swim-hic-ming with you around a-hic-gain. You alwa-hic-ays bring trouble. And fu-hic- fucking hiccups."

Dave clung to Eridan, placing Eridan's hand over Dave's heart, as that seemed to calm him down. And oh boy was it definitely beating, he was never this scared in his life, except for that time when Sollux fucked Eridan up. "Do you have stuff to take care of this?"

It definitely did help to calm Eridan down, even Sollux could see that, and he was rather surprised at how quickly Dave was able to bring him back from the "oh fuck everyone run" level of impending highblood freakout.

Eridan managed a dry laugh, wincing and holding onto Dave. "What do you take me for? I always have shit t' take care'a injuries. I have'em often enough."

He sighs in relief when Eridan laughs, and rests his forehead against Eridan's shoulder, relieved. He stayed like that until they got to the boat, and once they were there, he sat Eridan down on a chair and went to grab the first aid kit

Sollux floated up some towels to get his hip propped up, and averted his eyes as Eridan simply ripped the leg of his swimmers down the side and pulled it away from the wound. He hissed in pain, jaw clenched.

Dave got into his emotionless mode fairly quickly, just wanting to treat him and get done with this. He started by disinfecting the wounds, choosing thoroughness over speed, and then applied a paste that made them heal faster. None of them seemed to need stitches, thank god

Eridan ended up chewing through a towel in an attempt not to make a noise at the pain. The disinfectant hurt the worse, and he made sure that he didn't start digging his claws into the teak of the seats and only bit and clawed at the towel. Once the blood was cleared away, it was easy to see that the shark hadn't gotten a good grip on him, and had only torn through skin. It still hurt like a bitch and was bleeding sluggishly.

After the paste was applied, he got the bandages, and wrapped them around his wounds, his shoulders only slumping in relief when he was fully done. He sighed softly. "At least you won't bleed to death." He mutters, going to hug him again.

Sollux looked away when Dave started with the bandages, as it would need to go around his whole waist and down his thigh, and that meant Eridan was getting rid of those swimmers. He simply went down to find the pair of sweats that Eridan had brought with him, and some boxers.

Eridan immediately burrowed against Dave's side, face against his chest. "None'a you got hurt?"

He shook his head, pressing a kiss to the top of his head as Dave finally started to calm down. "Sollux saw the shark and got us out. We're fine. Why did you start fighting the shark?"

"I heard Sollux scream." He muttered, shivering a little with cold and leftover adrenaline now. "And when I saw it, and I couldn't see you, I just had to get it away from you. I was afraid it would get you."

He squeezed Eridan a little tighter, his eyes stinging a little. Eridan got hurt trying to protect him from something that wasnt even able to hurt him. He felt like shit. "I'm sorry." He muttered, rubbing at his eyes to try and keep the tears from starting to spill. This was a ridiculous time to start crying, but he couldn't help himself.

He couldn't help but whine in distress when he saw Dave get upset, struggling upright and hugging Dave close. "It wasn't your fault. I panicked, I thought it would get you, because it was saying some really nasty shit and I just went for it. I couldn't... I shouldn't have left you alone earlier. That's probably why the shark we saved isn't here. That shark must have been swimming around a lot, and a lot of the other sharks nicked off until it leaves. I didn't see the whale shark this morning either."

He just leaned against Eridan, the warm tears spilling down his face, despite his efforts to stop them. He couldnt live with himself if Eridan got seriously hurt because of him, and he just felt guilty. He clung to him until Sollux got there with the clothes, then he subtly excused himself, going to the bathroom with his head down to go calm down.

Eridan was getting upset because Dave was getting upset, and when he felt the tears he only clung to him harder, murmuring little noises and soothing hushes as he nuzzled at his jaw.

And then Sollux came back and Dave was gone and he wanted him here. Sollux gave him his privacy as he struggled to pull the clothes on, but he got them on eventually.

Once Sollux was sure Eridan was alright for the moment, he followed Dave, knocking first on the door before stepping into the small space of the front bathroom, which technically was just a shower. "You're getting worked up over something that didn't happen. He's gonna be fine, he's had worse."

Dave stayed quiet, just washing his face with cold water. He didn't feel comfortable being vulnerable in front of Sollux, and it was unlikely that he would suddenly do it now.

He knew Eridan would be alright though, he just felt bad. He felt bad because he got Eridan hurt, and he didn't deserve that in the least.

Sollux lent against the door, looking at a spot above Dave's head instead of staring at him directly. He wasn't that cruel. "You sorta left him miserable though. He's distressed because you're distressed, and then you go and leave. I don't care what sort of bullshit you think you need to be because your brother is a manipulative emotionless bastard, you just left your red mate injured and upset to go cry in a toilet." His tone wasn't mocking, or even really harsh. Just... neutral.

His words didn't do any good, really, they just made him shake harder, and he hunched a little more, splashing more water in his face. Dave really didn't need to be told to ignore his emotions now of all times, because all it did was make him feel more guilty. He's a sensitive kid. Still, he muttered "get out", wanting to be alone right now. It wouldn't do Eridan any good if he came back still a mess.

"Sollux leave him alone." Eridan called, managing to stand and hobble over to the entryway, looking down the stairs at him. He shifted, clutching the wall and starting to make his way downstairs.

"Fool, don't do it." Sollux warned, turning to face Eridan. Who flipped him off, then nearly slipped of the stairs and yelped. Sollux rolled his eyes. "Oh my gods."

Dave looked back, worried, but that only meant that Eridan got a glimpse os his puffy red eyes, and of himse sniffling. He felt bad. Bad for making Eridan get hurt, bad for making him take care of him now instead of the other way around, just bad. He felt useless and horrible. What kind of boyfriend can't even keep it together to take care of his boyfriend?

Still, he nudges Sollux out of the bathroom with a kick to his ass, and turns back to the sink to furiously wash his face, as if that would help.

Eridan managed to get down the stairs without falling, and started hobbling towards Dave on pure determination and stubbornness. Sollux pushed him to sit down on the couch, pointing a finger at him and saying "stay" like he was a dog.

"You're a piece of shit Sol. I just saved your life, fought of a shark and shit and you're gonna be an ass? Go choke on a toy." He hissed, flopping onto his back and wincing as his hip ached horribly. Ow. "And get me some fuckin' painkillers you useless tightass goldblood."

Dave was a little grateful for Sollux making Eridan sit down, because that meant he didn't have to see Dave bee a wimp. After a couple more minutes, he finally calmed down enough to go back to Eridan, the only sign that he was crying being his slightly too shiny eyes.

"Your black's a piece of shit." was all he said, and when Dave was close enough he curled up against his side, trying to leech off his heat and reassure himself that Dave was alive and fine and not having been bitten by a shark. The pain was making him feel a little woozy, off center and dazed.

Sollux pushed two painkillers into his hand, along with a glass of water.

He managed a soft laugh when Eridan said that, and wrapped an arm around him. "I know, right?" He just said, happy to be by his side.

He avoided Sollux's eyes when he came back, feeling judged.
