He snickers, and starts slowly swimming up to Sollux. Ince they were close enou, he grabbed one ankle and yanked, darting away as Sollux flailed and kicked, swearing.

Dave tried not to laugh, since he was underwater, but he did shake hard with all the laughter he was containing, and held onto Eridan so that he could anchor himself.

Sollux glared down at them, holding onto a rope that was hanging off the side of the boat (that Eridan may have dropped over for him earlier). He was still swearing up a storm, and flipped Dave off.

Sollux kicked at Dave in retaliation, putting the mouth piece in and swimming down to grab him and hold on.

Eridan snickered at them both, and started swimming towards the start of the reef.

Dave struggled not to grin, but he was definitely smiling as he swam after Eridan. It was kind of a shame that today was their last day here, and that they'd have to leave tomorrow morning, but oh well. Maybe they could stay longer if Sollux didn't mind.

Eridan twisted to float on his back to look at them, kicking lazily with his feet as he snickered at them. Sollux flipped him off, and gestured to head to the bit of reef that was closer to shore so that he could at least retreat to the shallows if he wants to and still be able to see them.

Dave agreed on that, since he didn't want Sollux to annoy Eridan if he wanted to swim further, and just helps Sollux head that way. He wonders why Sollux is so afraid of water, if he has dated two seadwellers. You'd figure they would have taught him how to swim properly huh.

Funnily enough, Eridan was the only one who taught Sollux how to swim. Feferi didn't take him to the water in that time he was dating her, and so they never swam together.

Eridan floated along in front of them, using his hands to push himself along instead of kicking.

Once they got to the place where Sollux wanted to stay at, Dave decided to stay with him so that Eridan could swim freely. He did make Sollux sit down at the bottom though, because he still wants to watch all the pretty

Eridan hesitated only briefly before he kicked off to have a look around. He told them that he just wanted to go check see if that reef shark had returned yet, and check up on the seahorses. He said just to send one of the fish for him if they need him, or just thrash around blindly, that works too.

Dave gave him a thumbs up before just sitting with Sollux. It felt nice to just be there. And the way Sollux's hair floated was really fucking funny.

He laced their fingers, not only because he knew it kinda annoyed him when he "acted pale/red" on him, but also because he kinda feels like it. Dave is a cuddle bug after all.

Sollux gave him a look that obviously showed "You're being a fucking idiot again Dave", but he didn't pull his hand away. Dave was a bit like an anchor at the moment, so he was alright with them doing this. Besides, he didn't really... mind it. It was nice.

He looked out over the reef, feeling a little like he was in that one animated human movie about talking fish as he did so. He could see some fish swimming about, and further in the distance, a dark shape that was swimming slowly along. They weren't really in proper shallows, since if he stood up he'd still be completely underwater, but the shallows weren't too far away, so he was fine.

He just squeezed his hand in return, paying no mind to that look whatsoever. In fact, that only made him want to act in a more cutesy way with him, so he took his camera with one hand to snap a picture of Sollux's floating hair, and he shook a bit with laughter

Sollux swatted at him with a hand, grabbing his camera and letting go of Dave briefly to mess up his hair and make it float around before he snapped a quick photo of it with a grin. He held onto the camera for now, linking his arm with Dave's so that he wouldn't float away and taking a whole heap of dumb photos.

Sollux rolled his eyes, but made sure in each photo to poke or shove or do something to Dave right before he took the photo, making him seem ridicules while Sollux seemed fine. It was pretty amusing for the most part.

Eridan couldn't find the reef shark, and started swimming back, realising he'd gone quite a ways out by now. He couldn't see any fish around the reef either right now, which was a little odd.

Dave retaliated once or twice, and he even shoved some of his hair om Sollux's face at one point for a picture. They were overall distracted by silliness.

Sollux would so not admit that he was having a great time. It felt hilarious to do dumb shit like this, even with Dave who was supposed to be his black. He glanced up over the camera at one point and saw the dark shape from earlier getting closer. At first he thought it was Eridan, but then remembered Eridan didn't have black eyes and didn't have that many rows of teeth or, y'know, was a fucking shark in entirety.

He screamed, psionics snapping out as he grabbed Dave and shot straight up out of the water. Nope Nope nope nope.

Eridan heard the scream, because it was sort of hard not to, and sped up, shooting to where they were, and when he saw the shark (what the fuck was a tiger shark doing this close to the shallows at this time), he shot forward like an arrow, going for a full on body slam.

Which might have worked, had the shark not turned around at the last second and gone for him instead.

Dave held onto Sollux for dear life, unsure of what the hell was happening. He just knew he was now floating mid-air and koala-ing around Sollux. He takes off his mouth piece to speak. "What the fuck dude?"

Hiccups will forever be the curse of psionics. Or at least ones dumb enough to go in the water. "Shark. Not -hic- Eridan. I do -hic- not -hic- like sharks." He was staring wide eyed down at the water, where the shark's fin had broken the water now as he it went after Eridan. His grip on Dave was tight, despite him already holding him up with psionics.

Eridan snarled as the shark sunk it's teeth into his hip, cursing that he'd let himself get close enough. He knew tiger sharks were fast, but he wasn't thinking. He was only focused on getting it's attention off Dave and Sollux. Pain blossomed immediately and he kicked it in the eye, raking his claws across it's gills in the next second and ripping free of it's mouth to dart around in a circle and body slam it again, this time properly. His hip was bleeding sluggishly, clear holes and gashes from where he'd ripped free visible through his now ruined swim shorts.

Why do sharks always want to bite him?

Dave looked down when he mentioned sharks, pretty ready to mock him, since he assumed it was the baby shark they saw last time, but oh boy was he wrong. He looked back at Sollux with wide eyes, the courage to mock him just dissipating, and he went back to hugging him as he tried to figure out what was happening.

Sollux was pretty much frozen, not really having the want to move to the beach or anywhere else. They were high enough up, but he was hiccuping hard now and was staring down in terror at the water.

Eridan, meanwhile, was pretty busy beating up a shark to worry about himself. He knew Sollux and Dave must have gotten away, because he couldn't taste any other blood in the water aside from his own and the shark.

It only took a few more slashes over fins and gills before the shark decided that it's new prey was very much not a good idea and swam off.

Eridan waited a few seconds for it to come back, but when it didn't he looked down at his leg. It would definitely need bandaging at the least, and he really hoped nothing was deep enough for stitches because hospitals are not his thing.

He forced himself to go to the shallows, staggering onto the sand of the beach and looking around for Sollux and Dave, now panicked because he couldn't see them.

"Oh my -hic- gods -hic-. Eridan!" That shook Sollux out of his frozen state and he moved them straight onto the beach, staring at the violet blood that was now staining the sand around the seadweller.

Dave jumped right out of Sollux's grip when they got to the beach, alarmed, and moved to hug Eridan instead. "Holy fucking shit, what happened? Did you just fight a shark? Is that a thing that happened? Are you ok?"

Eridan slumped against Dave after he checked him all over to make sure he wasn't injured. His breath was coming too fast, and Sollux was on the edge of grabbing Dave and flying outta there because a highblood in a rage is not something he can deal with right now.

Eridan held him tight, his leg giving out from under him and making him stagger. "'m fine. You okay?"
