"I'm good at history ones an' science-y ones. An' a few oddball questions. One of the few times it helps to know useless information." He grinned and sipped at his cup. "I don't really play bingo. The one an' only time I played bingo to actually see if I could win it was with a home made board that consisted of squares like 'get yelled at by fuscia' or 'be insulted by yellow' or 'amuse self with various thoughts of cultural domination'. I was very bored." He rolled his eyes and shook his head slightly. "So I guess you could say I lose at bingo."

Dave laughs a bit, shaking his head. "That doesn't sound like the best bingo i've heard of. If you can't win money with that shit, it ain't worth it. Once me and John went to one of those bingo nights that only have old people in them. John won like 100 bucks. And the ladies gave us sweets despite us being like, 19 at the time." He grabbed some more pringles.

"I won like an hours worth of entertainment. You should've seen Kar's face when I turned around an' shouted bingo at him. Funniest thing." He shook his head at the memory, snickering. "That's... Interesting. Old people are weird. When trolls get old they just get angry or grouchy an' are prone to become reclusive loners. Old humans just get weird an' give out lollies or biscuits or stuff like that." He pulled a face, eating more pringles.

Dave snickers, the idea of shouting bingo in anyone's face being pretty funny by itself. "They also get pretty fucking grumpy, trust me, specially the ones that play bingo. I swear to god they can bite even when they don't have many teeth left. Have you ever gotten hit with a fucking cane? That shit hurts okay, let's be fucking real here." He sipped some of his sprite, not wanting it to end too quickly. "However yes, sometimes they are also known to "give out lollies and biscuits"."

"Yes I have actually. Some old codger got me right over the horns. Hurt like a bitch an' my balance was off for hours after that. Right on the tip too." He raised a hand to his horn as if remembering the pain, pulling a face. "Old things are weird."
He wondered how much closer he could get to the fire before he started burning. He shifted a bit closer, digging his toes into the sand a bit to try and warm them up.

He snorts with laughter, grinning merrily, though he felt some pity for him. "Shit dude, and you say old people are gentle. They're beasts. And yeah, old everythings are pretty weird." He finishes the last few pringles on the can, handing half to Eridan, and eating the other half.
"Dude, we should probably get back so that you can change out of those wet shorts. You're going to catch a second cold and I don't want that to be weighting on my conscience or making it impossible to come back here in the future."
2015-07-17 09:28:57 -

"Gentler than old trolls at least." He grinned and nodded. He took the pringles, eating them slow as he watched the fire.
He turned to look at Dave as he mentioned going back, brow furrowed a bit. "I'm alright. It's just a little cold. If you want to stay out here longer I don't mind. This is just as much for you as is it for me an' if I catch another cold, which I doubt Dave, then it'll just be on me. Won't stop us from doing anything else, I don't breathe through my nose underwater." He made to stand up anyway, twisting a bit and frowning at the sand on his ass.

"Nah c'mon, lets get back, I made you get in the water, so I'm also making you get your ass back to the small boat thing so that we can get to the big boat thing. I'd rather you didn't catch colds. We can stay here till later tomorrow though, it's nice here." He got up as well, the dry sand getting off his legs and butt much more easily.

"Dinghy Dave, you meant the dinghy." He laughed and packed the food back into the cooler bag and moved it out of the way. He stood to walk to the water line to get some semi-damp sand. He never really knew which was better to put on fire, wet or dry sand, so he always went for the middle ground. Damp.
He dumped handfulls of it onto the fire, effectively extinguishing it and covering the coals. "Remember to not walk over this tomorrow, it'll still probably be hot."

"Pfff, what? Nah, small boat thing sounds way more respectable, I ain't calling it that. Maybe D. Yeah, I'll probably call it D." He helped him pack the food, and looked around to see if he had left something on the sand. Nothing. The camera was around his neck, and the leftover food was packed, so everything was fine.
"What, it won't cool over night? Well I mean.." He stopped to think for a moment. "Sand has a very high heating point, so it would take a high temperature to make the energy pass over to the sand, hm... yeah, you're right, tomorrow it will be hot still." He concludes, starting to head for the dinghy with the bag Eridan brought.

"I found that out the hard way." He was going to take the bag, but since Dave so kindly took it he just shrugged and walked alongside him, arms crossed over his chest for added warmth. "Was half awake an' on the beach a few years ago. Just pulled the dinghy past the high tide mark an' was going to look at something in the trees when I stepped right into my fire from the previous night. It didn't matter that it was covered in sand, just instant burning pain." He frowned and shoved the dinghy out to where it floated a bit easier before gesturing for Dave to hop in.

"You're a dork. A huge wrinkly rejected wine material of a dork. How do you read up on survival related shit and don't know not to fucking step on a fire the day after?" He grins teasingly, putting the bag in the dinghy as Eridan pushed it, and hopped in a bit after.

"I was half asleep! I'd just woken up an' I didn't want to sit on the boat because there were a group of asshole on their an' I just wanted to be able to think without screaming at someone to shut up!" He hopped up beside him, starting the motor and setting off at a slow pace, wouldn't want to hit anything this late at night. "I was on one of those charter ships an' when I asked the captain if I could take leave of a day so it could heal a bit she set me to standing with the cook all day peeling fucking vegetables."

He just kept laughing, smiling softly as he did, looking fairly amused. He rubbed his eyes a little, a bit tired. He'd still play cards or something with Eridan though. "By 'half asleep' you mean 'a ginormous dork', but I can respect the rest, alright." He teased, yawning not long after he rubbed his eyes, making him rub them a little again. Without the shades there, it was clear that he was starting to get a little tired. "She was a bitch." He quickly concludes. "But hey, it taught you how not to be that much of a ginormous dork again." He grins

"Call me a dork again one more time Strider an' you're going for a dip." His threat was empty, as they seemed to frequently be with Dave, and he just smiled at him instead. He noted how tired he was, deciding against keeping him up any later than needed. They would both need their sleep for tomorrow, seeing as they would have to walk a bit to reach the waterfall cave.
Not that Eridan planned on sleeping that much anyway, despite his consequential promise. That was only for on land. "I propose sleeping when we get back on board, seeing as we'll be wanting to get up early tomorrow if you want to get a really cool photo of the sunrise. An' if we wanna get to that cave to explore it before noon."

"Ooooh, i feel threatened, what'chu gonna do about it dork?" The Strider snickered. If he was in his trunks and not wearing one of Eridan's sweaters, and yeah, if it wasn't night time, he might have believed him, but he wouldn't do it now of all times.
He was going to refuse and just say he could stay up for longer, but then he was promised pictures of a sunrise so he shut up. "Hell yeah I want a dope ass photo of it. But are you really going to sleep? I don't know, I have my doubts Ampora." As he said this, he smirked, clearly teasing him. He trusted him to keep his end of the bet, even if he didn't.

"With how easily I am able to pick you up do you really want to go down that line?" He grinned and grabbed Dave's shoulder, pulling him down a bit until his face was close to the water. "Be happy I happen to like that jumper, or you'd be going for a bit of a chilly swim." He let him back up with a laugh, shaking his head slightly and pulling up alongside Sabriel. He tied the dinghy rope onto the back cleat again, holding close to the boat as he gestured for Dave to head up. "I might sleep a little bit. I'm a really horrid sleeper, an' I know that I'm supposed to sleep eight hours for a week but it's going to be a very spread out week."

Dave didn't resist him, smiling as he laughed softly,. "You're bluffing Ampora." He said, tempted to splash water on him, but he was damp enough as it was. Once he was let back up, he grinned victoriously, crossing his arms over his chest.
He waited until the dingy -or as he dubbed him, D- was close to Sabriel so that he could climb on her, and did as soon as he managed. "You're trying, that's good enough for me."

Eridan pulled himself up after Dave, double checking the fastenings of the dinghy and turning to look at him. "I am trying. I'm just shitty at trying so, yeah. Don't be surprised if you wake up an' I'm not in the back cabin. I'll probably be up here curled up in a blanket reading or something." He shrugged and shivered, tucking his chin into the collar of the jumper with a scowl at the wind. "The front cabin shower's the only good one that's got hot water, so if you don't mind I'm just gonna have a quick shower."

"No man, that's chill. I can just chill on the small-kitchen area if you want more privacy and all." He grabs the bag, carrying it inside, and putting it down on on the table inside. He then laid down on the comfortable couch, in the living-room-like zone, relaxing. He decided that even if he didn't mind, he'd let him do whatever.

Eridan smiled his thanks, ducking into the back cabin to grab a towel and a change of comfortable clothes that he'll probably end up sleeping in before heading to the front cabin. He shut the door behind him, stripping and stepping into the slowly heating water as soon as he could with a sigh of content. Despite his love for the water, it was annoying when it made him cold.

He could probably just shut his eyes for a few seconds, he was sure nobody would notice. He'd get up in a bit, yeah.
In a couple of minutes, Dave had managed to curl himself on the couch, sweater still on, dead asleep already.

Eridan's hair was a spastic mess by the time he'd gotten out, and he was dressed in nice warm clothing again. He didn't even notice Dave asleep on the couch until after he'd hung the towel over the hook on the toilet door.
"Dave?" He crouched down next to him, shaking his shoulder lightly. He looked pretty asleep. Eridan wondered if he should move him to his bed. It would be much more comfortable there and less of a chance of rolling off the couch should waves (however unlikely) hit. "Dave c'mon let's get you to bed. More comfortable there. Warmer too."

He blinked a little when his shoulder was shaken, looking at him with tired eyes, mostly because he had indeed just fallen asleep. "Mh..? Oh, shit, sorry." He mutters an apology, rubbing his eyes before sitting up on the couch. "Guess I do need some serious shut eye. Thanks for waking me up." Dave stretched, grunting a little.

"S'okay. I would've moved you to the front cabin even if you didn't wake up. It's much more comfortable there." He shrugged and stepped back a bit, letting him stand up. "There's an extra blanket in one of the cupboards there, if you need it. I'm not too sure how cold it's gonna get at night out here, so I left one there just in case." He was about ready for a nap himself, maybe even a sleep.
