"You'll welcome to drag me out of whichever hidey hole I deem to hide in to come sailing, this is my official offer." He smiles, staring up at the sky. "I'l show you all the stars I know tonight Dave. You've probably never seen so many stars in your life." He turned his head enough to look at Dave, half his face underwater. It made his vision weird, one eye clear and the other fuzzy, so he pulled a face and looked back up at the sky.

"You know that one week offer you gave me? I think I'm gonna take it. Like, three or four times a month." The wide smile gets back on his face, and he glances over at Eridan. He was pretty amazed at how much he knew about what he was interested in. He had no idea of what it was about it, but /something/ about that was very attractive. He would not for the life of him voice that opinion though. That's the kind of opinion that must not be spoken.
"Most likely. I know like, constellations and shit, if that's good. And uh... orion's belt, I know that one. The second star to the right, the one that leads you to neverland, that one is cool. And some more, I'm sure"

"You're welcome to. Three or four times a month? I think that's a brilliant idea. Absolutely awesome." He was smiling, a similar soft smile to the one Dave had.
"If you know Orion's belt, an' constellations, do you think you'll be able to trace Eridanus from Aquarius's jug to the tip of Orion's sword?" He glanced at Dave again, managing to lift his head enough so that his vision wasn't weirdly different.

He squinted his eyes at the question, as if it helped him think better, that was more of a challenge than a question in his mind, wondering if he could do that. For Eridan to ask, it had to be pretty visible, so he was sure he could give it a go. "Yes. Yes I can."

Eridan's grin grew and he looked back up at the sky. "Cool. It's a trail of stars, Eridanus, it being a river an' all. It's an interesting constellation that. Do you know there's this one gap between the two stars, that is quite literally a black hole? Scientists aren't even sure if it's that, it's just an empty expanse of space an' they don't understand why." He shifted so he was back to standing again. "C'mon. It's gonna get cold in a minute. Might as well get food an' stuff while it's light if you still want that fire on the beach."
2015-07-16 07:38:15 -
●
"What, really? That's actually pretty cool". He said as he stood up, starting to get goosebumps from standing, so he headed to the small boat. "Just, fuck space between these two stars in particular, I guess. Well not between them, they're light years away from each other, but lets not get specific here."
"Hell yeah I do, and it's the perfect opportunity to bring the deserts with me. Just one question. How are we supposed to get rid of sand all over our bodies?"
2015-07-16 07:42:27 -
🌀
He just rolled his eyes, fins flicking at the light breeze that coasted over the water. He was swimming back out to the boat when Dave asked the question, and all he did was turn and raise an eyebrow at him. "Swim, fool, swim. You don't need to be completely clean to get back onboard." He shook his head and grinned, turning in time to grab the side of the boat and hail himself up. He started the engine with the intent of coming closer to Dave so it's easier for him to get up.

"I know I don't, but I'd really rather not have sand all over my hair." His hair was the least of his worries. Oh well. He swam a little bit, climbing back on with ease, and curling up a little with cold. "Oh captain, my captain, just drive us the fuck away from here"
2015-07-16 07:47:39 -

"Drama queen." He grinned and nudged him gently with his foot. "There's a shower on board, if you're really so inclined you can use that." He steers then back to the boat, shivering a bit himself now that they were out if the water.
They were back to Sabriel in no time, Eridan quickly but securely tying the dinghy to the cleat and waiting for Dave to get on board.

"Yes I am, please and thank you." He supposed using the beach towel he brought with him wouldn't be bad since it didn't come in contact with sand just yet.
Dave got on board pretty quickly, wanting to get sand off his everywhere. "So, shower. I'd assume it's in the bathroom in your room, but I need to check."
2015-07-16 07:57:54 -
🌀
Eridan double checked the rope before climbing on board himself. "I have an outdoor shower here, so you can get the worse of the sand off. Boats showers are really shitty, I'll tell you that now. It's in the same cubicle type thing as the toilet, and the sink, space conserving etcetera. An' you can't have long showers. There's two though, one at your end, which is just one big shower cubicle, the one at my end is toilet, shower, sink. The hot water takes a bit to get hot, an' even then it's really only lukewarm." He shrugged, running a hand through his hair almost awkwardly. He'd forgotten to mention that bit earlier. "You're welcome to shower wherever."
2015-07-16 08:02:34 -
●
"Big shower cubicle inside it is. Not like I'm going to drop a trail of sand till I get there, we were in the water he whole time." He smiled a little. "Do you have towels, maybe?" Now that he thought about it a second time, he could use his own, but once he used it on the sand he wouldn't be able to, so it was always a good idea to check.

"Yeah. I made sure I brought spare towels, even though I nearly always have an extra or two on board when I'm by myself anyway. There should be one in one of the cupboards up your end." He was fine without a shower for now, he'll just use the outdoor freezing cold shower if he really felt like it. Probably the only time he wasn't too fussed about not having a shower or fixing his hair.

"Sweet. Alright thanks, I'll be ready in a minute, I don't take long showers." With that, he walked over to his own cabin, stripping in his bedroom before grabbing one of the surprisingly fluffy towels to go shower.
He was ready in less than five minutes, not even having bothered to make the water warm, as he had just gotten out of cold water, and was now drying his hair with a towel, a new pair of swimming trunks on.

Eridan had rinsed the most of the sand off with the outdoor shower, and he was still shivering a bit as he stood in the little kitchenette getting the chicken out of the fridge. There were a few buns in a paper bag already on the counter, and he was standing there holding the fridge open wondering if Dave would want anything else.

Once his hair looked mildly decent, he put his shades back on, relieved to have them back, and walked over to the kitchenette to see if he'd find Eridan there. "Sup, the pimp's back in the crib. Don't drop it like it's hot though, that's food and food is important."
2015-07-16 08:16:07 -

Eridan just looked at him, eyebrow raised in exasperation. "There will never be a time where I will drop anything in your presence." A grin though and he put the chicken next to the buns. "Anything else you want with this?" He was a bit dejected that Dave had his glasses back on. But, to each his own.
"You can keep your shades off if you like. There's no one here to see, an' I quite like the colour of your eyes, better than some I've seen before." He smiled over his shoulder, pulling a bottle of sprite out of the fridge and grabbing two plastic cups from the cupboard above the fridge.

"That's a shame, that nasty ass attitude could be dropped any time." He tease, smirking wide. "Mmmh, not really. I brought fries though, so that would go well with the chicken. Doritos to be specific. And onion and sour cream flavoured pringles because I'm a whore for both." He shrugs.
His cheeks noticeably tinted bright red at the comment about his eyes, in a way that matched them quite well actually, and he shifts a little, looking like he was caught by surprise. "Oh, uh.. well.." He didn't really need the shades there, he supposed. He mostly used them to hide his unnatural eyes, and emotions, but there was really nothing he had to hide here. He was just having fun.
He hesitated a little, but reached for his shades, having thought about making some excuse not to, since he was used to them being there, but he figured he should start taking them off more often, so he did.

"This nasty ass attitude has prime priority on this useless ass seadweller. It won't be dropped any time soon." He snarked right back, rather sassily. "It's picking up a bit of wind out there, nothing hard, but it may be a bit fresh. I'd recommend a jumper or something to bring along. You did bring one didn't you?" He raised a brow, smiling a bit.
His own cheeks flushed a light violet, and he turned back to the fridge for something to do with his hands. "If you'd rather keep them on you can. I'm... I'm just saying. They'd probably be a bit of a nuisance in the dark out here. The only lights are the boat lights an' the moon." He meant every word he said, which even surprised himself for a second. Utter sincerity on the one thing that should not have been mentioned because of previously stated Eridan things.
Oh well, if it meant he got to see more of his eyes then it'll be fine.

"I didn't bring anything but its fine. I'll hang in there." He says with a small smirk as he tucks his shades in the front of his shirt. He was pleased to see that he wasnt the oly one with warmer cheeks. He couldnt really help it though, it was probably the first compliment he got on them. Kids usually called him the devil and things of that sort when he was a kid. That sounded really cheesy though, so Eridan didnt need to know.
"So, what do you need help with?" He asked right away, not wanting to linger on that topic for too long.

"I've got a few spare mink blankets if you need one tonight, an' I'm sure I've got a few jumpers that I've left behind if you really need one." He glanced at Dave again, cheeks still violet. "I know I get cold easily when I'm not in the water, so I tend to pack warm stuff." He was violently wishing the blush would just subside already so he could turn around and look normal.
"There should be a box of matches in the cupboard there next to the switchboard. Behind the head torches an' first aid box. Or maybe in the first aid box. Somewhere there." He waved a hand in the general direction of where he spoke of, finally turning around when he felt less warm-faced.

"Both sound fine, but if you get cold yourself I think I'll take one. A sweater probably, so that I can move around, but a blanket isn't a bad idea either." The blush on his cheeks calmed down first than Eridan's to his surprise, and now he was just amused to see how much longer his would last.
"Got it, is that everything we need?" He asks as he walks out, going to look for the box of matches, and finding it next to the first aid kit. He came back not a minute later, patting his pocket to show him it was there.

"I'll keep bring a spare for you then if you need it." His cheeks were finally back to normal troll grey. His fins, however, were still stupidly violet along the top of the tines. He hoped Dave wouldn't notice.
"That's pretty much it. You can grab a torch as well if you want." He'd put all the food and drinks in a cooler bag, holding that as he grabbed the dinghy kill switch off the hook. He slipped the lanyard over his wrist, gesturing for Dave to head up first.

It was really hard not to notice something like that in a place so well lit as the kitchenette, however, if that were to happen outside, he surely wouldn't have. He kinda felt like teasing him about it. "Sure, where do you keep the flash lights?"
He walked over to his cabin to leave his shades there, but soon followed, getting on the dinghy, after getting whatever else they needed.
2015-07-16 09:51:14 -

"Same cupboard as the matches. Head lights really." He opened the door to the back cabin, opening the cupboard to grab out two soft looking neutral coloured jumpers. He put them in the same bag as the food for now, for easy carrying.
This was all packed into the dinghy, and Eridan settled himself at the motor again as Dave sat down. The sky was only just light enough for them to make their way back to the beach in. On the way back they'd need torches, even though Eridan left the cockpit lights on on Sabriel.
