While half the switches really don't do much to the actual boat bar lights an' music an' stuff, I don't want you touching it unless I ask you too. Same with the navigation stuff around the wheel." He smiled slightly, leaning against the side of the open cabinet containing the sink. "Do you think you can stand being on here with me for a few days?"

"No idea why I'd mess with the switchboard just for shits and giggles, but noted nevertheless." Dave nods. "And seeing that you have threatened to bash my face in if i broke anything, I don't think I'll be trying to navigate the boat any time soon. See? Everything works out perfectly." He shrugs, smirking a little. At the question, he turns to fully look at him. "Well, we're about to find out aren't we? Worst case scenario I just beat you at cards a lot of times and take good pictures. Oh no, so terrible." Dave smiles wider. "And are you ready for the blessing of being with me here for a few days?"

"Merely precautions Dave." He grinned regardless, shaking his head slightly. "Make sure you actually remember to bring your camera. It'd be hilarious if you forgot it, we'd get there, the whales moght be there, an' you've forgotten your camera." He chuckled, shaking his head again.

"Is it a blessing Dave? An' I'm sure if I can stand your company in both a coffee shop an' through a movie then I think three days will be fine."

"Nah man, nah. My camera is one of those things you never forget. Like I can go on vacations, I get to a hotel and I forgot my wallet and any means I have to acquire money, but you better bet my camera is there with me. Never doubt photographers on that shit. You can quote me on that" He sat down on the mattress, testing how firm it was.

"Of course it is a blessing, I mean it's like being with me for an hour a day, just, a day per day. For three days. That's twenty four times more dave per day."

"Also your logic is stupid Dave logic an' makes practically no sense." He smiled, shaking his head at Dave.

He leaned forward a bit, still smiling and stretched to grab a rolled up thing from behind the seats. "Hey remember that map I told you about? The one where you raised many skeptical eyebrows an' thought i was lying? Here." He unravelled the map, looking smug as he laid it out on the table, looking up at Dave with a grin.

He rose a brow yet again at the mention of the map, but when he actually saw it, he started smiling wider and wider. "Dude, no fucking way, let me see that thing." He got up from the rather comfortable bed, heading for the table so that he could see it. "Well damn, it sure looks better when it's not on a shitty phone's screen." Dave smirks, nodding to himself. "That's nice. I like how you made some trees and shit on the island just to make it nicer, reminds me of the old maps made by the first people to sail the ocean."

His fins flared a bit and wiggled happily, and Eridan's grin grew wider. "It helps me keep track of stuff, where I am an' such. Landmarks. I've even marked the reefs, the entrance to the caves, everything I thought was of importance really." His fins were still wiggling as he pointed out what he said. "I like maps like these, modern maps are alright but there's something cool an' aesthetically pleasing about old maps."

"You have everything down then, we'll have to do little to no searching for those." He nodded in approval. "I'm still expecting to find something neat there, like a massive waterfall of sorts. Shut up I know that wont happen, but I can dream." He quickly adds. He scans the map for a while longer, before just smiling softly again and looking at Eridan. "Good job there, I wouldn't be able to do it even if I was using both hands."

"Well I wouldn't say it's a massive waterfall..." He grinned like a cat that got the cream, reaching to roll the map back up and stow it away safely. "Not all the caves are fully underwater. The one that shines is half an' half."

"It takes practice to make a good map. You should see my first attempts. They looked like such shit, it's embarrassing."

"You're telling me there's a semi-okay waterfall, that leads to a cave that fucking shines. You're my favourite person. That's it. All my life all I've ever needed was someone grumpy with a boat and fins."

"I'll try to find them then, if you haven't thrown them away yet." Dave snickers

"It's pretty decent. The waterfall. An' you can either get into the cave by swimming through a bunch of other ones, all underwater, or you can jump down from the waterfall. It's a deep pool, so it's okay." His fins were flushing slightly violet as he grinned at Dave. "If you weren't okay at making coffee you would've probably never heard about it until it became overrun by people."

"You won't be able to find them. I threw most of them away."

"Both sound great. I assume you have jumped down the waterfall for you to know that" He grins as well, leaning against the door frame. "And excuse you, my coffee is the second best beverage out there, the first one being AJ. I deserve seeing waterfalls that lead to caves that shine."

"Of course I jumped down. It looked fun. An' I haven't jumped off anything interesting in years, I landed in this really deep pool, and there's this tiny gap at the bottom an' I'm sure there's something living there, I could see stuff moving."

"Oh my apologies sir Dave. Your coffee is frankly exquisite an' delicious an' I have no idea what I'd do without it." He layered on the sarcasm, smirking as he did so.

He straight up laughs at his explanation, shaking his head, his cheeks dimpling slightly. "Well, I guess we'll find out whatever the hell might be there huh. I know you know this, since you went to pick up my shit, but like I asked for those mouth pieces so that I can swim for short periods of time with the goggles on and nothing else. We could explore that no problem."

"I would probably be still drinking instant coffee an' complaining at everyone about everyone, as per usual."

He seems to light up at that, though its only noticeable in the the tone he is using. "Glad to know I have a fan, but not really. I might work on something in these next few days though, because fuck spending them all glued to my desk."
