"Bone rings are some of the coolest things though. Look." He fiddled with the one on his thumb, which from afar looks like a simple whitish stone and band. "Made from a skeleton of some creature I found in a river. It's part of the jaw bone an' one of the teeth. I think it's a canine of some sort." He pulled it off his thumb, holding it up to the light. "Took me a while to figure out how to make a ring from it, since no jeweler wanted to be anywhere near it. I wasted most of the jaw trying to make something decent. This still isn't perfect, but it looks cool. If you turned some of your collection of bones into jewelry, earrings, necklaces, pendants, rings. That'd be cool."

He leans a bit closer to see how it turned out to look, and nods to himself. Better than he'd ever manage to do. "It looks mostly round, so it looks nice. You should carve something into one though, that would make it look really good. Like with this one." He points at one of his more formal looking rings that has his sign on it, aquarius. "It would look pretty neat carved in bones. And maybe for Aradia, she would dig it." He shrugs. "I could also lend them to you to make jewellery, because I don't know how to."

"I'm thinking of taking some dead coral back with me this weekend, maybe try something from that."

At the suggestion he do it he shook his head quickly, laughing a bit. "Oh no. No way. This only turned out well because I spent nearly a month polishing it up an' buffing it an' everything. An' that was after a month's attempts at trying to make one in the first place. Even then it's not perfect. Aradia might be able to do it. I'm not good enough with my hands to make jewelry out of bone."

"You're the first person I heard of that makes their own rings and shit, that's why I suggested, but she might know how. I don't know. She knows a lot about dead shit, its kinda creepy at times. You seem to be pretty into rings though, what gives? Just a taste you acquired?"

"Yeah I guess? Necklaces were too bulky an' cumbersome. i didn't like them an' when I swim they weighed on my gills an' if I went too face they swing round an' scrape on my fins. Bracelets, similar kin'a situation, except they just scraped on everything an' were too heavy. I like rings. I've got piercings as well, in my fins, but I don't really wear them anymore. Too... pretentious? I think that's what they said?" He shrugged and slipped the ring back on, flexing his fingers wide to show off his rings. "I just like rings."

"Man, I have one in my eyebrow that i used to wear a lot. When i started working i had to take it out, though i got to keep the ones in my ears. I just make sure it doesn't close up by wearing it every now and then, I still really like it." He leans forward a little, to show what would be the holes for an horizontal eyebrow piercing. they were small and stayed hidden. "And I don't know, without the rings, the piercings wouldn't be pretentious. But I admit I'm not a fan of those two together."

He nodded a bit, leaning forward to have a closer look.

He shrugged. "It's a seadweller thing I guess. The need to look flashy an' expensive an' high class. I didn't have many in my fins, just a few little studs, an' I used to have less rings. I was told the earrings looked stupid though, so I just took them out an' added more rings." He shrugged again, reaching up with hand to feel along one of the tines in his fin as though still feeling invisible holes.

"Are the holes still open? Cus I'd be pretty amused to see you with piercings." He smiles a little. Dave turns his face slightly, pointing at two studs in his ear. "These two usually have an industrial piercing in, but i keep them separated sometimes, it doesn't gets caught up in clothe as often. But yeah, I think I'd dig 'em both."

"Some are. The really old ones, like the ones I got done when I was like three or four sweeps, are all closed up. Or mostly closed. I haven't worn earrings in pretty long time, but fin wounds heal slowly, so they could still be open?" He shrugged as if to show he didn't know.

"Do you have only those piercings?"

"Well, I also have these in both ears." He points at his tragus. "And another piercing in my left ear. What else.. Oh also these." Dave reached for the collar of his hoodie, tugging it down a little to show a small stud near his collar bone. "Two of these. I was also thinking of maybe getting a nose ring, but I'm working, and it wouldn't have time to heal if I had to take it out every so often."

He looked slightly impressed, appreciative of the obviously thought over form of body art.

"So, you're thinking of getting it down over the break or? Just get the piercing done an' keep it open with a clear bar until you can wear it? Considering the multitude of piercings on one of your coworkers, admittedly most are in her ears, I think you should able to wear a nose ring."

He blinked a bit, and appeared to think. "I've got two little bars through the edge of the first gill flap on either side. Here-" He gestured to his ribs where his second set of gills sat, "- an' here. They're only small, an' right on the edge of the flap so they cause no irritation to the filaments, seeing as the first gill slit is usually the largest, with the biggest excess covering. Which just basically means the filaments inside don't reach the length of the slit."

"Probably during the break, yes. But then again it's kinda hard for me to do that because piercings aren't supposed to be exposed to a lot of sunlight while they're healing, and it's the summer now. I'll figure something out, I want that nose ring. I'm just bummed out about the eyebrow though, that's my favourite one." He shrugs a little. "And well, I can bring the problem to the manager, but you know, ear piercings are more easily accepted. Facial ones are generally frowned upon, but I'll try. After all nose piercings have been getting popular, who knows."

He listens as he explains where he has some himself, a little impressed himself. "Sounds pretty bomb honestly. I assume they're regular piercings and nothing too complicated. Probably silver too because it goes well with violet. But loops, or studs?" He was mostly talking to himself, but he did start wondering. Ah well, he'd get to see them soon, with some luck.

"It is a shame. You with more piercings would be a thing to see, I imagine it makes you look less of a lean beanpole an' as though you might actually be able to pick yourself back up after a scuffle." He teased, grinning at him.

"Stud's mostly. I have a few loops I can change it out into if I want to, but that's usually only when I'm out on the water, an' swimming. Loops are a bit uncomfortable when worn under clothes, studs are easier. Silver does go well with violet, but so does a dark gold, or a rose gold. I've got one set of silver in now an' one set of gold. Main reason I got two piercings in both slits really."

He hums in acknowledgement, nodding yet again. "You make a fair point. Why havent you taken those out if people told you they were lame? I mean they're pretty sweet, or at least the idea of them, but im curious."

"No one really knows about them, plus it's not like I walk around without a shirt on so people can see. An' I wanted to keep something. My old moirail, cranky bitchtits you moaned at, she's the one who told me I looked like more of a pretentious douchebag than usual with them in, gill piercings an' fin piercings. But I liked the gill ones an' she wouldn't know if I still had them in." He shrugged.

"I wouldn't screw her. You might catch something." The words are out of his mouth before he realises, but once he does he merely snickers to himself. "I've been thinking about putting a few of the piercings back in. I kept deciding against it. I look pretty stupid with them in now." He shrugged. "Oh well. I'm not terribly fussed."

Once the words are out of his mouth, he laughs louder, covering his mouth so that he wouldn't be too loud. He grins, sighing in content. "You'd look good with them, on, but like, if you were just showing skin. Again, who really cares though." A nice visual of Eridan from the chest up with just the piercings on came to mind, and he approved of it, though he wasnt sure if he should keeo the glasses in case he did that.

"You'll get to make a proper opinion on that soon enough. Nearly all piercings will be in this weekend when we head out. An' I don't swim with a shirt on." He tilted his head slightly, considering unearthing his box of jewelry from where he'd stowed it at the back of his cupboard. Maybe a few fin piercing will be alright. Just studs, discreet ones.

He'd like to see Dave's piercings in a bit more detail though, curious as to what the collarbone ones would look like in proper light.

"Wow rude." He pretended to be insulted by the comment, reaching up to adjust his glasses and huffed. A little laugh a second later and he shook his head. "No, I do actually need these. My eyesight is pretty shitty above water, I don't know the sciences of it. Underwater I can see perfectly, so I don't have to wear them."

Dave grinned, looking pretty smug. "I just know I run fast okay, like pretty fast. I could probably be in the Olympics but something tells me they'd say I was cheating. It must be the way water acts as a sort of natural magnifying glass though. It's the only reason I can really find, because by what I've studied of ninth grade physics a long time ago, light doesn't play that big of a part in it. That's weird though, I'll ask Jade. Or Rose. They aren't experts in that area, but they could probably answer that. Or google."

He shrugged and put his glasses back in, blinking a bit at the change of vision. "I just find it annoying that I have to wear glasses. It's like... a weakness of sorts.
