Dave smiles a little at the fish, smiling wider as they came closer to him. He ducked his head when they had to swim under the coral bridge, inching a bit closer to Eridan, because fuck him if he wanted to damage it or be damaged by it.
Dave nods, looking around at the mention of seahorses. He mostly wanted to see Eridan interact with them, but he supposed that now that he was glued to him, if they wanted to do it, they'd have to come closer to him as well

Eridan smiled at him and pulled him in to a little clearin type thing. There were lots of those in the reef, little sand clearings among the coral. He got Dave to sit in the sand, waiting for him to let go. "They should be in there." He pointed to the sea grass clump, "I'll go have a look an' see if they're there an' bring some over to you. You won't float off here. There's a current swirling here, it'll keep you mostly anchored here."

Dave doubted that he'd stay in place, but as he let go, he was proved wrong. He just sat down there, looking at a fish that was swimming by, and gave him a thumbs up, brushing some hair away from his eyes, that took up more space now that it was floating too. As Eridan left, a fish approached him, and he smiled at him, and though he didn't stay there for long, he did swim around him a couple of times, and even swam through his hair, making him laugh a little

Eridan found the seahorses eventually. One came excitedly swimming out and bumpes into his nose. It seemed they remembered him.
Convincing one to to actually come away from the sea grass and back to the clearing took a little while longer. He nearly gave up and swam back to Dave when one curled its litle tail around his finger.
"Dave. Hey, Dave!" He swam back slowly, cupping the little seahorse in his hand and looking down at it to make sure he didn't crush it accidentally or anything. "Hold out your hands, fingers spread."

Dave was pretty happy when he came back, a couple more fishes having come to see what the hell that thing with blonde hair was. He was pretty quick to do as he said, holding his hands in front of himself, forgetting what Eridan was doing for a moment, but quickly remembering, and smiling wider.

He cooed softly to the seahorses, little trills and glubby snaps of his gills against his neck as he coaxed it to curl its tail around Dave's fingers instead. His head was bent close to Dave's because of this, his focus on the seahorse as he slowly withdrew his own hands. The seahorse curled its tail more snugly around Dave's finger.

Dave looked at the small seahorse, and then at his gills, pretty excited to even be able to touch one. He nearly grinned when it finally curled over his finger, reaching to very, very lightly, run a finger down it's belly, happy to find that it wasn't too scared. He ended up leaning forwards a little, bumping their foreheads together on accident, and moving back slightly with an apologetic smile, though still looking at the seahorse

Eridan glanced up at him when they bumped foreheads, fins wiggling a bit as he just smiled and looked back at the seahorse. "He says that the noddle finger one, which is you, has a fish in their hair. What?" Eridan looked up with grin and laughed. "A little blue tang was poking out of Dave's hair and Eridan laughed. He reached up to coax it out, still laughing. "Your hair attracts fish Dave."

Noodle finger? How does he even know what noodles are? And they definitely aren't noodle-y. He was very frustrated that he couldn't actually ask, but glanced up either way, smiling. He must have forgotten to get out, or maybe he just didn't want to, because it was very unlikely that he got stuck in his smooth hair. He would have felt him tugging. He shrugged with a smile.
2015-07-15 03:39:19 -
🌀
Eridan huffed, a few bubbles escaping him. "Okay he didn't exactly say noodle. He said funny tall thing with long pale funny grass stalks. Noodle suited better." He stuck his tongue out at him, shooing the fish off back to the coral.

He has no idea how he read his mind, but he laughs either way, a thicker aggregate of bubbles escaping the ends of the mouthpiece. He watched as the fish went, and then looked at the seahorse. He was so cute, with his little tail wrapped around his finger. He grabbed Eridan's hand, placing it near his so that he could give him the seahorse again

🌀
"Saw it in your face. You're really expressive when you can't talk." He shrugged, fins wiggling again. He didn't exactly read his mind. Just guessed based on the twitches in facial expression he saw.
He curled his hand around Dave's, coaxing the seahorse back onto his hand and away from Dave's. "Do you wanna see more?" He asked Dave, glancing up at him.
2015-07-15 05:47:50 -
●
He is again very amazed that he managed to read his mind, and nobody could tell him otherwise. Eridan is a mind reader confirmed.
Dave waits as the seahorse slowly makes the transition, and nods, rising to his feet to see if he'd float away

Eridan holds out his arm again, rising a bit with Dave as they stood. Standing underwater always felt weird to him, so eventually he kicked and moved to a more natural swimming position. He grabbed Dave's wrist this time, tugging him with him as he started to make his way back to the seahorses.

He was about to try and swim by himself when Eridan grabbed his wrist, but he was far from complaining. He just started swimming with him, excited for the promise of more seahorses.
Once they get there, he gasps a little, through his mouth of course, at how many of them are there, starting at them, amazed.

None of the seahorses swam out to greet them, all just shifting and hiding among the grass. They camouflaged really well, only briefly being seen. "They're beautiful, aren't they." Eridan glanced at Dave with a smile, bringing him a little closer. "My lusus was a seahorse. Well, a skyhorse, but he looked like a seahorse."
2015-07-15 06:32:53 -

Dave nodded, reaching for the hand Eridan had the seahorse on, and guiding it closer to the sea grass. Once he was there again, he let go of Eridan's hand, though he kept close to them both, making Dave smile wide. He wondered if he would remember them when he came back with a camera.
At the mention of his lusus, he looks at him with a smile, brushing more floating hair off his face

🌀
Eridan smiled at the seahorse, face relaxed and almost soft as he looked at the creatures. "You're gonna go home with some awesome photos Dave." He grinned at him, nudging him with his shoulder before pulling back a bit from the grass. "C'mon, we better leave them be. Plus I wanna show you this thing I found last time I was here. It looks cool."

Just the idea of having photos of this was great. Going here was the best decision of his life so far as a photographer. He nudges him back though, smirking, and goes back to holding onto his arm.
His eyebrows raise a little, not a second later, and he finally realizes that he can see his eyes.
It didnt occur to him before, as he was wearing goggles it just felt like his eyes were covered as usual.
He hurries to look forwards, acting natural, and waves a little at the seahorses before starting to swim away. He hopes his facial expressions would pass as excitement to go see whatever he wanted to show him.

He'd really never seen red like that on a human before. The closest he'd seen was on Karkat, and even then that had been at sickle-point after he'd accidentally walked in on the troll one morning. It was interesting.
He liked Dave's red better though.
His own brow furrowed as he turned away and started to swim, letting himself be dragged for a bit before he kicked his own legs and swam beside him. Someone's a bit twitchy. He shrugged and shook his head to rid of absent thought, pulling Dave along now as they swum through the coral. He'd have to ask about that later.

He tried not to think about it too hard. Maybe Eridan thought it was normal, maybe he wouldnt think he was a freak. Or... maybe the water made his eyes look like a weird shade of brown. Yeah. He was hoping that the second option was true. As a way go distract himself, he wondered about whatever he wanted to show him, looking around, but not too much, seeing if he could spot it

"It's not too far." He assured, catching sight of Dave looking around. "I thought you might prefer to swim through the coral a bit more, but we can go over the top if you'd rather get there faster?" He personally liked swimming through the coral more. It was relaxing. Safe, almost.
"It's just up ahead really." He pointed ahead vaguely, tugging Dave with him as they neared something a lot darker then the sea around them.
It was a figurehead, or at least looked like it.

The Strider shook his head a little at the suggestion, just continuing to swim with him. He rose a brow questioningly, wondering about whatever it might be. The first unrealistic yet awesome thing that popped into his mind was an egg of sorts, but then again he had no idea of what it would be. Maybe a sunken ship. Aha right.
2015-07-15 07:15:20 -

Eridan pulled Dave down to the old rotting wood. Whatever the figurehead used to be, it definitely wasn't visible now. He gently twisted his arm from Dave's grip, using both hands to haul the wood up and away. There was a gap in the sand underneath where it rested. The gap obviously led to whatever was left of the ship that used to be there. He grinned excitedly at Dave, fins wiggling. "Found this last time. Wanna see whats in it? I haven't looked yet. Maybe there's a shark in here."

He had to exhale and make an effort to stay down while Eridan did that, however, it clearly paid off. With an excited nod, Dave went through first, looking around, taking in the view of the broken, old ship. This begged for a camera, and his fingers wiggled a little, as he scolded himself a little for not bringing his.
