He keeps smiling, pretty excited about all of it. He really has no way of telling him how great he thinks this will be, other than just looking very excited.
"So you just get them for shits and giggles? That's also nice. I mean, they're always useful. And you could be going on vacations and go like, oh shit, I have a map for this place, fuck yeah." He shrugs, thinking a little about it. "And you'll probably have time when you finish college, or so I'd think."

Eridan really really hoped the weather would stay good for them now, only for the fact that Dave looked more excited than a kid in a candy store being told he could have however much he wanted.
"Basically. Also maps make pretty cool things to hang up on walls and stuff. Aesthetic features an' all that." He smiled, head tilted slightly.
2015-07-11 10:48:02 -
●
He shook his head as he laughed, leaning back against his chair. "Really, aesthetic features. Just when I think you can't be more of a dork." He teased light heartedly. "How long did you say it takes to get to the island again? Half a day sailing or something?"
2015-07-11 10:50:29 -
🌀
His fins coloured slightly and he scowled, "shut up Dave. It looks cool on my wall. Very pleasing to the eye. At least it's not abstract art." He was smiling though, rolling his eyes and shaking his head.
"Yeah. Half a day's sail if either of us don't get distracted by something we see and want to have a closer look at."

Dave could get into abstract art for the most part, in fact his comics were pretty abstract, but he thought of them as a big joke, just as he thought of most of abstract paintings. He could however be caught with a few if he had the money for them, and he'd probably claim he did it because it's ironic. "Whatever you say Eridan, whatever you say." He teased further, smiling.
"Get distracted by what, exactly? You think there are more islands around or are you just talking about getting distracted by fishes." He smirks
2015-07-11 11:06:55 -
🌀
He just stuck his tongue out at him. He understood abstract art, and why people did it. He just wasn't particularly fond of it. That being said, he did used to own a few smaller pieces of abstract artworks he'd found in thrift shops and second hand dealers that he'd taken a liking to.
"Well I was thinking more along the lines of whales an' dolphins but if you wanna get distracted by fishes then be my guest Dave." He smirked, arching a brow at him.
2015-07-11 11:21:56 -
●
"I.. well they fall into the category of fishes. Somewhat." he tried to deffend himself, the slightest hint of red rising to his cheeks. "Yeah, I at least probably will." He nods.
2015-07-11 11:27:46 -
🌀
"No. No they don't Dave. Now if you had said 'things that swim' then yeah maybe. But you said fish." He snickered, fins wiggling more when he caught sight of the blush. It wasn't a malicious snicker, just one of amusement.
2015-07-11 11:38:00 -
●
"Whatever man, you got what I meant the first time." he smiles a little, the slight blush soon calming down. "You know everybody means 'things that swim' when they say fishes. Unless they're talking about swimmers. Then they probably don't mean fishes, but then again I don't know why they would refer to people as things, but whatever, okay, I correct myself, you're right." He was trying to ramble his way out of his mistake, but it didn't much work, so he gave up.

Eridan just looked at him in amusement, fins wiggling as he held back his laughter. "You done?" He grinned, shifting in his chair as he just shook his head at Dave. "How about you just go make me that mocha, an' get me another brownie. I should head off soon if I want to get the rest of the crap done that I need to do. Which unfortunately includes social interaction."
2015-07-11 11:53:57 -
●
"Yes, I am pretty done. Gonna make that mocha now." He nods, taking the chance he offered him to switch the subject, and walks back behind the counter to start making him the mocha. "Social interaction? Does it involve telling your suspicious friends that we're gonna sail or something?" They are already suspicious enough of them, they would certainly find a way of making their life harder. "Because if that's about that, I've told my friends so, they probably already know."
2015-07-11 11:57:00 -
🌀
"Oh they know already. An' they're not happy about it, but I expected that already." He rolled his eyes, huffing. "I am having to interact with them today, yes. Not all of them thankfully, an' also hopefully none who would deliberately go out of their way to get a reaction from me that would result in a prissy bitch fish coming at me." Eridan shook his head slightly, he had an idea of what they wanted to talk about, and they were bringing the clown, so he reckoned bruises will end up on someone at some point.
2015-07-11 12:06:38 -
●
"Right, um... hey about that. Definitely not saying you can't control yourself, because you can pretty well, but try and not argue with them too hard okay? Mostly because I know you're also pretty pumped for the trip, and it's already tomorrow, so no use in messing up our efforts now by saying something that might get them to be even more pissy. And definitely try not to get in a fight."
2015-07-11 12:09:30 -
🌀
"Dave I don't go looking for fights unless I think the one I'm going to fight deserves having their arse kicked. An' while these lot really do need that, I'm not that stupid as to pick a fight they day before I go out sailing." It's not a real fight if it's only a few punches thrown, well at least in his opinion. "An' they always get pissy at whatever i say." He smiled slightly at him, trying to defuse whatever worry there might be.
2015-07-11 12:18:44 -
●
"I know dude, I know, but sometimes it just ain't worth it. So, thanks for that." He seems a bit more relieved to hear that he won't pick a fight, though his worries don't lie there. He's more worried about the fact that someone will try to coax him into a fight, and he'll do it. "Don't let them get to you." He smiles back at him.
2015-07-11 12:24:56 -
🌀
"Dave." Eridan shifted, turning to face him properly. "If I had let these lot get to me i wouldn't be sitting here right now. I would probably be locked in a cage at the bottom of some trench trying to chew my way out in a mad rage. These lot happen to excel in antagonising people, I was the worst, so it's easy to ignore." He felt like he at least owed Dave a warning if a punch or two was thrown.
"They are bringing the clown with them. That... Usually ends in a few hits happening either way. Probably Feferi's orders if you ask me."
2015-07-11 12:30:42 -
●
"That's true I suppose. No, yeah you're right." He nods. He'd have to have some faith in Eridan. He deserved it from him either way. "As long as you're fine, that's alright I suppose. And if you can jump down from the fourth floor then I guess you can take a hit. Didn't you say he was a junky though? Why would he be violent?"
2015-07-11 12:35:55 -
🌀
He shrugged. "I never understand it. He can be aggressive when he's high as fuck. It's usually less coordinated an' the punches aren't nearly as hard, but he always manages to actually hit his target. I don't know, his entire ancestry line is fucked up." Eridan ran a hand over his hair in exasperation. "Point is they bring him or Zahhak along if they think its gonna go violent. They usually start it, an' I am courteous enough not to go full out with my own punches. Everyone always forgets that though."
2015-07-11 12:43:26 -

He shook his head a little. Seems like they were really against Eridan. It seems like a waste of time though, in Dave's opinion they should just let go of the bonds all together, not just watch from afar and do that sort of crap to get him in trouble. "Alright, here ya go, brownie and mocha." He said after a bit, putting the brownie in a small box the size of his hand, and walking over to him. "And make sure to come back in one piece, because I don't know how to sail the boat myself." He jokes, smiling softly.
2015-07-11 12:47:42 -
🌀
"Ta Dave." He smiled, taking the box and takeaway cup. He wonders if it was a logical idea to tell Dave who he was meeting and what might occur. He didn't want him to worry or anything.
He rolled his eyes and shook his head slightly. "What about two pieces? I just really need my arms and head for sailing. How about I come back in halves? That good enough for you?" He grinned, laughing a bit at the absurdity of it. "I'll be fine Dave. Whatever they want to talk about is probably something I've heard before, an' I'm not fussed about Gamzee."
2015-07-11 22:51:25 -
●
"Halves would be acceptable, just from the waist up really, that's all you probably need. Split down the middle doesn't sound like a good idea for someone who wants to sail." He smiled, sitting down again after giving himself a black coffee re-fil. With shit tons of sugar though. "Nah but really that's cool. Oh and I have this, hold on." He got up yet again, stirring his coffee, and came back with the copy of the game he mentioned, handing it to him.
2015-07-11 22:54:15 -
🌀
"Down the middle would be impractical an' stupid." He nodded, sipping at the mocha briefly.
"Oh cool. I might play a bit of this when I get back then. Waste some time before tomorrow." He flipped the game over, checking the back and then again looking at the front. He smiled at Dave, glancing up at him briefly before looking back at the cover of the game case. "Thanks."
2015-07-11 23:52:12 -

"No problem, you should play a little, it's so good. And you'll love it when Ellie finds a certain book." He says with a slight smirk, laughing to himself. "Yup. Just, love it." The practical joke book had lots of puns, and it was stupid as hell. He'd buy 30 of them. "I've played it around.. three.. three times? yeah. The dlc is great too."
2015-07-11 23:55:11 -
🌀
He looked at him in suspicion, eyes narrowing a bit. "I'm not gonna like that book am I." He said it like he had an inkling of what it was, even though he hadn't the foggiest. He shrugged, smiling slightly. "I'll have to play the dlc sometime after I finish this then." His phone beeped at him, and he checked with a glance and an eyeroll.
"I'm so playing this when I get home though, I don't have anything better to do just yet." He smiled at him, stalling in the face of much more pleasant company then what he was about to meet with.

"Nah man, you're going to adore it." He smiled, looking like those kids that know something you don't. "And yeah, I can borrow you that one. Kinda want to tell you about it, but without playing the game you wouldn't really understand what the hell I'm saying, so I'll save that for later." He shrugs. Dave catches the eye-roll, but doesn't comment on it. "Get good while you're home, then we can play on coop mode when we're back." He smiled back, sipping from his coffee.
