Eridan wiggled his way through a second later. It was spacious where they were, probably the hull, or the brig, maybe even a hold of some sorts. His fins only wiggled more in excitement, his whole body seeming to follow along. "This is so cool. C'mon." He grabbed Dave's hand again, tugging him with him as they went deeper. It was darker here, murky in the way only deeper seas were.
He wondered if Dave could see anything.
That thought made him blanch a bit and he looked quickly at Dave. "Can you see? I can make some light. It won't be much but it might help a bit?"

As they went deeper, he held onto his hand a bit tighter, squinting his eyes to try and see anything, but with no results.
When he asked, Dave shook his head, trusting he could see.
The water there was colder too. It made him a but uneasy, but Eridan-the-shark-nose-kicker was there, so he quickly lost all fear.

"I hate doing this." He muttered, shifting a bit closer to Dave. Bioluminescent was common in all seadwellers. Some had really bright ones, used for display and showing off, some were darker, glowed like eyes in the inky blackness of the darkest oceans. Eridan's was somewhere in the middle, and impossibly violet. He huffed as the spots and along the tines of his fins glowed. "Don't laugh at me, I know it looks weird." He felt Dave grip his hand tighter, and said nothing. He tugged and swam slowly forward again, one hand outstretched to give a bit of a glow. "Think we'll see a skeleton?"

He rose a brow at first, wondering what he's do, but was impressed when he saw Eridan light up like a christmas tree. He desperately wanted to say something about how amazing it was, trying to remember how that worked. He was pretty sure that he learned this in some biology class.
He shrugs as he asks about the skeleton, wondering if there was a treasure there, even if he knew there was not.

Eridan glanced at him, a little bit uncomfortable with his light show. He didn't like doing it, Vriska used to make fun of him for it when they were younger.
But Dave needed to see, because this was cool stuff, so he'll bare the discomfort for now.
"There might be a few fish skeletons down here, but I don't think any human ones." He shrugged and pulled him along further, navigating around a cave in of sand.

He could sense that he wasnt as relaxed as before, and besides, him sayin "I hate doing this." was a pretty good indicator of why he was acting like that. He ends up giving him a slight smile, as if to assure him that he would not make fun of him.
He tugged him a bit closer. It was starting to get noticeably cold there.

Eridan managed a small smile back, shrugging his shoulders as if to shrug of the discomfort. He moved forward a bit again, more cautious now. He could sense something ahead, taste something weird in the water ahead of them as the small current pushed through his gills and sensory fronds. "I think there's something there..." He shifted closer to Dave, fins flaring warningly as whatever was there shifted in the sand closer to them.
Eridan narrowed his eyes tugging Dave back a bit as he tried to figure out what the actual shit was there. "Time to go?"

He tried to look at it, but there was not enough light. Did they have a flash light back at the boat? Hopefully so. They could always come back.
As he was pushed back a little, he tugged on Eridan's hand slightly, as if to agree

Eridan had no idea what the thing was. It appeared to be half buried in the sand, and it kept moving towards them. So, logical thought provided a speedy exit as a brilliant idea. "Hold on."
He grabbed Dave around the middle, holding him close and kicking hard to get away. He'll have to come back later, get up close and personal and see what it was.
They burst through the gap in the rotting wood and sand, and Eridan kept kicking until they were back up to the surface. "I don't know what it was. It had a shit tonne of legs from what I could see."

He had to loop his arms around his shoulders so that they weren't in a weird position once he grabbed him, looking down as they swam away. Surely it got darker and darker the further Eridan got from it, but he was still looking. As soon as they surfaced, he got a hold of the mouth piece, moving his jaw a little. "Maybe it was some sort of underwater centipede thing?" It sure felt good to be able to speak again

"I dunno." He realised he was still holding Dave close and flushed a bit along his fins, loosening his grip so he was merely holding him up. "I might go back down later. Get closer." He shrugged and pushed his wer house out of his eyes. "At leat there was something down there. I'd be disappointed if there wasn't."

Dave on the other hand, seemed to be pretty comfortable with his arm around Eridan's shoulders, it making it easier to hold himself up. He brushed his fingers through his hair, wrinkling his nose a little, and combing it back so that he didn't have to deal with it. "Hey I also want to come. We'll have to get a flash light though. You have one?"

"I should have one on board. A hand held. Does your camera have a light?" He raised a brow, kicking his feet to keep them above the water line. "I think whatever it is will be more active at night, or at least dusk. We can come back then, but it will be a lot colder." He shifted, combing his hair back out of his face again.

"It does, but I wasn't planning on using it much so that I don't scare away the fish." He shrugs. "And I brought the suit as well for that. It was cold as balls in there, fucking hell." He finally realized he must have been putting too much dead weight on Eridan, even if he too was kicking his legs, so he slid to the side a bit, so that he could float on his own. "Kinda disappointed that it was a sea-centipede thing and not a shark, but not too much. I was promised sharks though." He smirks a little
2015-07-15 22:40:37 -
🌀
"Give me twenty seconds an' I'll find a shark for you." He grinned and flicked water at him. "You'll see a shark soon Dave. You've already seen seahorses an' such. Do you want to go back an' get your camera? Or would you rather have a look around a bit more so you know what's here an' all that?" He tilted his head slightly, photophores still lit up a softer violet now in the sunlight.

"Oh boy, the excitement is real." He laughed, splashing some water right back at him. "Nah, I'm good, we'll do the picture taking tomorrow." He smiled wide. "And dude. You glow. You're like, a living glow stick slash christmas tree, thats so fucking great!" He got a hold of one of his hands to inspect it further, looking pretty happy

Eridan just scowled at his hand. "It's just dumb really. I just light up an' most of the time I can control it an' just keep it completely gone but sometimes it just... Lights up." He let Dave look though, looking at his hand as well. "I don't even know why it does that. It looks cool on fish an' stuff but it just looks weird."
2015-07-16 03:04:28 -
●
"Oh shit sorry, if I'm making you uncomfortable or some shit tell me." He stopped for a while, quickly letting go of his hand. "I think it looks pretty neat, honestly."
2015-07-16 03:06:36 -
🌀
"It's okay. I just don't like it." He shrugged and gave a small smile. "Some things people say, just stuff. Don't worry about it." He just shrugged it off.
"Shall we go back under or do you want to head closer to the shore? Pick up some starfish an' stuff?"
2015-07-16 03:33:06 -
●
"Mmmh. Your offer is quite tempting, yes." He says as he rubs his chin, pretending to think about it. "I say: sure." He splashed him again with water, smirking wide

🌀
Eridan laughed and splashed him back, "i'll race you. I'll only use my arms, give you a handicap." He grinned and struck out with his arms. He wasn't as fast of a swimmer using only his arms. Still quick enough.
He also hoped to see a wobegong in the sand there, closer to the beach, maybe even a stingray.

"Hmmmmm." He squinted his eyes this time. "Alright on the count to three." He got ready, putting the mouthpiece on. He counted with his fingers, and as soon as he reached three, he started swimming as fast as he managed, hoping he wasn't as rusty as he thought he was.
2015-07-16 03:44:48 -
🌀
Eridan of course went underwater as soon as he held up three fingers. He twisted underwater to look up at Dave, grinning like a shark and using only his arms to pull ahead of him. It was only about twenty five meters to the beach, and he hung back a bit to blow bubbles up at Dave in amusement.

Dave was a little frustrated, since he was trying very hard, yet Eridan was clearly faster. He comforted himself by thinking that he was born to be in water though.
He ends up getting there in little time, but scrunched up his nose at Eridan a little, pushing him gently. "You suck." He says with a smile

🌀
Eridan just bared his teeth in a grin, standing up to his hips in the shallows. He stated laughed and splashed Dave with water, falling back into a wave and letting it roll him into the sand. "You swim well, for someone who hasn't been in the water for a while."
