He was back within twenty minutes, holding a piece of paper in his hands. It contained the local tide times and a weather forecast for the next week, and there was predicted rain a few days from now.

"There will be rain for about, half a day. It's just showers though, not a storm or anything too strong." He handed Dave the pages, moving to check the mooring lines and get ready for cast off.

Dave checks the page out after sitting down, humming a bit as he did. "Sweet, means its prime for sailing as always."

"Any weather is prime for sailing if you know what you're doing." He grinned, fins wiggling a little. He jumped down onto the dock, gesturing for Dave to move to the bow of the boat to catch the lines there.

Dave remembered that he did that last time, and just followed, putting the sheet down first. "Aye aye, that's probably true."

He snickered a little at his words, and threw him one of the lines. There wasn't a current in the marina that day, which meant they could do it this way. He had all the lines undone and thrown to Dave within minutes.

He was up in the cockpit and reversing out of the berth soon after, letting Dave get the ropes to put away.

Soon they were back out at sea and Eridan already looked more relaxed.

Dave walked up to Eridan once the ropes were gone, and sat down next to him, smiling to himself for having this great idea. "You'll sleep like a troll baby thing with way too many legs."

"Wriggler. And maybe. I dunno if this'll help me sleep. You'll be surprised at what lengths I've gone to, to ensure I won't sleep for the past month." He grimaced a little, steering past the channel entry markers and setting the course for their island.

"Well, you'll try though, right? That's all it matters." He watched him with interest, tapping his feet.

He shrugged again, settling back against the stainless steel frame and tipping his head back with a sigh. "I'll try but if it's not working at all, sorry."

Dave nods again. "I brought some sleeping pills, if you want to take them. Because you're kinda like an insomniac."

He sighed softly, looking up at the sky for a bit before just looking back at Dave. "I know. I did have a valid reason for this, it wasn't just to see if I could fuck myself up some more." He shifted a bit in his seat, stretching his legs out down the side bench of the cockpit.

"I know. I'm just not very optimistic to the results." He tugged him close to sit with him, shifting around a little until he had his head in Dave's lap, the autopilot on for now.

Dave smiles a bit, and stars petting his hair. "Either way, you'll at least enjoy yourself."

"I'm out sailing and I've got you with me. Of course I'm going to enjoy myself." He smiled up at him, fins wiggling.

He grinned, nipping lightly at his lips and raising a hand to play with Dave's hair once he'd leaned back up. "It's my special talent."

Dave smiled tenderly, and took off his shades, hooking them on his shirt. "Love you."

"I love you too." He moved his hand to cup his cheek, thumb stroking gently over his skin.

Dave hummed in delight, nuzzling against his hand, and twirling a lock of Eridan's hair between his fingers. He got so lucky with meeting Eridan. "I love you a lot. Probably more than I loved pokemon when I was 7."

Eridan huffed a soft laugh, despite the light colouring to his cheeks now. "Careful Dave, your dork is showing." He teases. He's grinning though, and tilts his head back a bit so he just manage to press a soft kiss to his wrist. "I think I love you more than I love the sea."

Dave grinned once he saw him blushing, and leaned down to smooch his forehead. "Damm rkght my dork is showing, he has his head on my lap." He teases, but it was soon his turn to be flattered. "Dont be silly."

Dave kisses the tip of his nose, and then his lips.

He sighs as he nuzzles Eridan's cheek. "Thats a lot of love, I don't know if anything I'll say after that will sound as good."

"I have a lot of love to give." He kisses his cheek, using the hand still on his other cheek to keep his face still as he kissed his lips softly. "I'm dramatic remember. Besides, anything you say to me in relation to this sounds good. I was just trying to figure out how to wordify how much I really do love you."
