Dave had pulled out his phone to play some tetris while he was there, since Eridan was going to take a good while. He switched back and forth between tetris and another game, casually glancing at the digital map and all to check if everything was good. It wasnt until he came back that he put his phone away, glancing over. "You became a straight up dolphin for a while there"

Eridan shook his head rigoursly, flinging drops everywhere. He squinted at first, trying to see if that helped his vision, before just staring at Dave, gesturing for him to hand over his glasses. "I didn't become a straight up dolphin, although I did hear some. An' something else butI'm not sure what that was. It was pretty deep down." He sat precariously on the edge of the railing, holding on with one hand as he let the sun dry him.

"Deep down? Think it was whales?" He asked, hopefuly, as he quickly figured out where he put his glasses. He walked over to him, handing them, having managed not to smudge the lenses.

"I'm not sure. It wasn't lyrical really, but it was deep like whales." He furrowed his brows, sliding his glasses back on his face. "I heard dolphins. A pod a them chattering away in the distance. I didn't quite catch what they were saying though."

He smiled wide at the thought of whales and the chance of photographing them. "Aw fuck yes. That's what I'm talking about. But what happened to your smiley face from a while ago?" He teased, smirking a little. "Need a towel?"

"Smiley face took a walk. It's not my natural resting expression." He shrugged. "You just happen to have enough of an entetainment value to see my smile on more than one occasion." He teased right back, rolling his eyes and turning autopilot off. He settled back behind the wheel, not bothering to put his clothes back on over his swimmers.

"You just know how to make a gal feel special. Such a charmer." he laughed, going back to his seat, and stretching. "You were giggling your little head off when you jumped into the water though."

He shrugged again, a light blush on his cheeks. "Moment of weak will. Doesn't happen often lemme tell you that. But the prospect of swimming again made me really happy, so yeah." He glanced at him, then out over the water. "you enjoying this so far though? This utter relaxation?"

"You mean the tetris and the water? Sure, it's nice." Dave shrugs. "Haven't really done much yet, so I can't say much about it."

"You're away from annoying messages, that should be a good start." He shrugged and turned the wheel a bit. "We're nearly here though, I planned to moor her in a cove so that we're sheltered from the wind an' everything, but if you'd rather be closer to the reef?"

He nodded, fiddling with his phone as he spoke. "That's improvement, you're right on that. But it's been a while you know, kinda getting bored. Mostly because I don't know the hell I'm doing, so I end up not doing anything at all. But that sounds nice, do as you plan." He nods
2015-07-14 04:18:41 -
🌀
"Yeah sorry. I should've left something you could do? Or just held back from swimming until we were moored or something. A but rude a me." He shrugged a bit awkwardly, throwing Dave a apologetic look.

"Somewhat, but it's fine." He was pretty bored for the whole time, which killed most of his excitement and disposed of it in international waters, in all honesty. Now he was just pretty eager to get the hell out of that boat and do something, but he wouldn't say that. That would be even more rude of him. "How long till we get there?"
2015-07-14 04:31:06 -
🌀
"About twenty minutes." He frowned a bit, turning his attention back to the wheel. He could tell that Dave was bored by now, there was no added sarcasm or any other emotion behind his words. It made him want to droop, he was hardwored to impress, it came with his blood, but here was a blatant display of lack of impressed-ness.
"Not long. It wont take me long at all to drop the anchor in, and then we can do whatever you want for the rest of the day."

"Alright, sweet. I'm not sure of what I want to do though, you know the island better than I do. By which I mean you do know it and I do not. We could just look around for a bit." He honestly just didn't want to be ignored for a while, because he was pretty used to talking to people all day long.
2015-07-14 05:09:16 -
🌀
He was quite for a bit as he watched the island draw closer until they were able to see the low tide beach. "I could take you out to the reef in the dinghy an' we could swim there for a bit?" He glanced at Dave, then back over the bow as he stood up to steer in as close to the bach as he could get with a three meter keel. The tide was just out, meaning a few hours of a lull in the currents before it started to pull and push back in. Perfect timing. "Let me just put the anchor in. Can you stand here? I'll need you to push this lever forward just hntil it clicks when I ask you to, an' then the same with reverse." He demonstrated once Dave drew close enough to see. "Just makes it quicker y'see."

A slight smile formed on Dave's face, who was clearly interested in that. "Sounds chill. My swimming trunks have been waiting to be put to use for a while." He looked around, and then back. The fact that he could only see water all around them emphasized the fact that they were alone together in that small part of the world. It felt oddly soothing, yet, it made him feel like he was in a box of sorts. He took a deep breath, trying to be silent about it. It would be fine. He'd get over that. The place was naturally gorgeous, there was no reason for him to feel trapped. "Sure, go on."
Once Eridan gave him the signal, he pushed the lever, and then pulled it to himself. Seems like they were set. His smile grew a little more as he realized he actually got to /do/ things now. "Anything else?" He called out

Eridan let the anchor down from the bow, watching over the edge and calling out instructions to Dave until the achor held fast as Sabriel reversed and moved forward. He made his way back to Dave wih a small smile of excitement on his face. He turned off the engine, ducking down inside to turn the engine key and flick a few switches off. "Would you like something to snack on first or do you just wanna go?" He was picking up on something, and it was making him twich and his fins flick this way and that. He hoped that Dave wasn't regretting this.

"I brought some sandwiches, because I'm a natural mother, I could go for one." His stomach gets a little rumbly as he says that, making him clutch it and make a bit of a face. "Definitely could go for sandwiches right now." He actually has no idea why he hasn't eaten before, but he hasn't. "I also brought some of the alternian sweets, you know, the ones you gave me the recipe for. Jane made them of course, but I brought some left overs." He started heading inside the cabin, bringing his backpack when he headed out again.

"You? Make sandwiches?" He grinned, teasing. "I have some chips an' stuff to snack on. I've got some stuff for dinners as well, incase you don't feel like fish or anything." He felt a bit awkward, hoping he got enough to keep the other happy throughout the three days. "Also I've got those two minutes noddles. Fish love them. You crumble a few an' drop it in the water an' it's like you just threw a carcass to piranhas." He opened a few cupboards to find a few things, making sure all the food was put away neatly. "You can put the food you've got here if you want."

"I know, it's a miracle right? They're pretty good though, trust me, I ate one before going to sleep last night." He didn't know what Eridan would bring, so he just brought snacks, seeing as those could easily replace a meal it it really was needed, and knowing that he didn't know how to make anything else, it was all he could really bring. He did bring pizza too, which made it all pretty alright, even if Eridan didn't bring food of his own. "Pretty neat, but don't expect me to sit with you fishing, honestly." He said, putting some of the food away, and putting aside a bottle of AJ and a sandwich. "By the way, my food is for two, so don't you pull some "its your food" crap on me."
2015-07-14 05:46:20 -
🌀
Eridan just reached into the fridge for a pear, shutting the lid with a snap and looking at him. "Ah. I don't sit when I fish Dave. The rods are really only for show." He grinned, teeth flashy in the light of the cabin. "I have a mini speargun you could use if you really wanted to come with me fishing, the big ones are really useless to be quite honest."
He shrugged and bit into the pear. "Food is food. You do however, get first pick of your own food. Courtesy rules Dave." He grinned and sidled past him to push a few books back in place, from where they'd slipped over on the sail here.
"Snacks an' then the reef? You just really need a snorkel for this. Or the mouthpiece thing whichever. Might even see a shark there."

The sandwich was quickly unwrapped, and he bit into it as Eridan spoke, in order to soothe his rumbly stomach. "Oh shit, you do hardcore fishing." He laughed a little, smiling wider. "I don't know dude, I could try, but I'd probably end up just stabbing sand. Note the 'I could try' part. And hell yeah, I think I'll just get goggles and the mouthpiece. Dang. I just... can you imagine knowing sign language when you're underwater?" It just came to mind that it would be quite amazing. "Eridan I know what we're going to spend the summer doing."
2015-07-14 05:56:43 -

"If hardcore fishing is attacking massive ass fish with your teeth an' claws then yes, I hardcore fish." His fins wiggled a bit at return of Dave's smile. "I'm just saying that I've tried spear fishing, an' I've still got all the equipment, so if you want to try fishing like that then you can."
"I can't really imagine sign kanguage underwater, but I do have an idea of something." He ate his pear, pondering on his thought for a bit. "I might be able to talk to you underwater. An' not just garbled bullshit, but actually talk. I might sound a bit stupid though, all melodic-y an' bubbly probably."
2015-07-14 06:04:42 -
●
"That is exactly what I mean by hardcore fishing. You understand me so well." He shook his head, the smile definitely being back and wanting to stay.
He took another big bite, little more than half being left of the sandwich. "It would be pretty fucking cool. I've thought of it in other occasions, like, you can just be eating or chewing or something and be trash talking the person next to you. Sign language is a fucking blessing and I should learn it ASAP." He said, more to himself than to Eridan. "Can you? Considering I will have a mouthpiece in a very important part of my body that i use to talk, I think that I won't be. Just a guess though."
