"I better head off now. Get this meeting thing over an' done with so I can spend time on this game." He smiled, tucking the game and the photos under his arm as he picked up the box with the brownie in it. "I'll talk with you later. Good luck with that exam." He grinned, shifting his grip a bit and picking up his drink. "Try not to daydream too much abut sailing tomorrow."

Dave completely forgot he had an exam for the whole time they were talking, in fact, he was about to ask him what the hell he was talking about and even made a face, but caught himself before he could, and just acted like he knew it all along, nodding. "No promises, but yeah. I guess I'll see you tomorrow by five in the morning." Dave got up to get back behind the counter, sipping from his coffee. "And remember, I only accept you in a piece, or in halves."

Eridan just laughed, waving a hand at him as he turned to walk out of the cafe. "If you insist on one piece i'll tell them. An' yeah. Five tomorrow. See you then."
His smile dropped once he was outside again, a small scowl taking it's place as he hurried back to his car. Better to get this damn thing over and done with now. From what Kanaya had stated, it would only be a short talk, but with Gamzee there, a few punches would occur. He'd hear through the grapevine that the purpleblood was sober more and more often these days.

He went through his job pretty anxiously, not nervous, but just jittery and wondering how the meet up was going for Eridan, if he even met up with them at all yet. He drank another cup of coffee before the exam, and arrived five minutes early, but soon he was in.
The whole room was quiet besides the sound of pen on paper, and the flipping of the exam pages. He could her a girl's heel click on the floor each time she shook her leg, which was annoying her a little, but it went on for a while until he could block it out. He knew nothing. Or at least that's what it felt like, even though he answered nearly everything, but he was used to having this feeling in every single exam.
When the three hours finally passed, he was relieved to come out, feeling like his brain was going to melt, and headed straight for home, checking his phone for messages.

It hadn't, but he saw no reason to tell Dave that. Gamzee had been more sober than Eridan had ever seen, and the first punch was rhrown within ten minutes. It was a warning conversation, as always, and Eridan had half a mind to gut them all. He didn't, of course, bu it was a nice thought.
Kanaya had told him that at Rose's request, through Dave, that tjey back off a bit from him, and that she had managed to get Feferi to lay off a bit. Despite this, Gamzee was allowed as many hits as he saw fit to "discourage future problematic behaviour".
Still, bruises were bruise and would probably be gone from both of them by the time tomorrow came around.

TG: that sounds like youre being sarcastic
TG: which is kinda obvious and probably didnt need any pointing out
TG: but still
TG: how many pieces are you and them in?
He wants to just close his eyes and go the fuck to sleep, maybe have that lullaby play. Samuel L. Jackson never failed to get him sleepy. However he wanted to know the details, if he wanted to give him any, and he still had to shower and pack.

He'd sinply fallen to lie on his bed the second he got home. It was comfortable and he was tired. E'd since moved to the couch and was playing through the Last of Us. It was entertaining so far. He enjoyed it.

He typed, then set up an alarm for himself, and got under the blankets to nap

Eridan laughed softly to himself as he read the message, game paused on the screen.
CA: alright davve
CA: go sleep
CA: actually sleep not nap
CA: sailin tomorroww dont forget
CA: night davve
He put his phone to the side and resettled himself on the couch, relaxed as he unpaused the game again.

He really was just napping because he didnt pack yet. He didnt really lile the nap either, since his dream was a huge ass tease and he fucking believed they were sailing for a while there. He was a little upset when he woke up four hours later.
He forced himself up, and checked the list the other sent him, quickly packing, and checking that he still had a fuck ton of time to sleep, so he did. Killing time never hurt nobody

Eridan ended up getting through at least half of the game play in the time that Dave had napped. By then even he was tired, and instead of just continuing on like he so wanted to, he saved his progress and turned it off. While still firmly believing that he had hella unfair circumstances during the challenge, he wasn't going to skive off his end of the deal.
Even if eight hours is far too long to sleep.

By the second time he woke up, he was truly rested, and excited. Dave Strider did not remember being this excited since he was in kindergarten and a field trip was mentioned. He supposed it was sort of the same thing though, but with a troll instead of noisy children, and a boat instead of a bus. He showered and got dressed, already having picked the clothes for that day, and hums to himself as he double checks if he has everything. He checked his phone, twenty minutes to go. He would be early
Smiling, he left his brother a note saying he was going to be out for three days, in case he forgot, and walked over to the marina, his bag swinging from his arm.

He didn't even manage eight hours. Six and a half and by then he was bouncing off the walls with excitement. It was a weird and totally welcome feeling.
He, of course, was there at three in the morning. One, because the sunrise from the marina was simply gorgeous and he wanted to be there well before it rose, and two, he was excited. Everything was set and ready to go. He was already wearing his preferred swim wear (when he had to be clothed anyway) underneath his pants. The swim jammers trapped the fins on his hips, but he found them to be merely ornamental anyway so he wasn't too fussed.
He just wished Dave would hurry up and get here so they could go.

He might have ended up getting impatient and jogged his way to the marina. Yeah, that might be a thing.
He had gotten his piercings in, as he had promised, his eyebrow one and a couple more of the ones on his ears.
By the time he got there, it was still fifteen minutes to go, but he was pleased to see Eridan. A wide smile was on his face as he hurried over. "I thought I'd be early but guess not."

Eridan's smile was just as wide, and his fins wiggled with happiness. The light caught a few of the studs he'd slipped in, only two per fin. "Nah. I've been here since three. Wanted to see the sun rise." He gestured to behind Dave, where the sun was steadily making its way above the horizon.
"So. Shall we go?" He just couldn't control his grinning, wide and unabashed.

Dave nodded, pretty eager to get going. "Fuck yes, lets get this show on the road. Nice metal by the way." He said as he pointed at his fins, smiling. He then briefly glanced at the horizon. The sun was certainly there, but it didnt seem to be there for long. "You could have warned me though, man, that would be neat. Then again I think we'd just set off earlier if I was here to watch it." He snickers, but soon walking on the boat

Eridan reached down to grab his bag from him, holding as Dave climbed up. He raised a hand to his fin, touching the studs and shrugging. "Felt like putting them in. Got the gill ones in, but I never really take them out so there's no surprise." He handed back his bag and gestured for him to put it away in the front cabin. "I'll wait until you're back on deck before I untie her. Might as well get you learning now, hey?"

"Sweet, alright hold on." His cheeks were starting to hurt from how wide he was smiling, christ. Those would be sore later. He walked over to the front cabin, placing his backpack against the wall, soon coming back. "So, lets do it." Dave grins

Eridan was standing on the pontoon, about halfway along. He'd already undone the lines tying Sabriel to the dock and the port one he'd simply thrown back on board before holding onto the two starboard ones (the middle third one was back on board as well).
"Okay. If you'd rather just sit and watch this time, that's fine. I've got two starboard side tie lines here. Usually, I just undo them an' hop back on an' get out of here but I thought you might like to see what i'm doing." He held up the ropes to show, keeping it taunt as the outgoing tide pulled at the boat. "I'm going to throw the ropes up onboard so they don't get caught in the prop, which would ruin this all, an' then i'm gonna reverse her out. If you don't mind just making sure all the lines stay onboard while I get her out that would be great. You just need to get them off the cleats and coiled nicely on the seats there, so I can put them away once we get out of the marina."

"Sounds like something I can do, what are we waiting for?" Dave watched as he worked for a little bit, chewing on the inside of his cheek a little, and worked on doing exactly what Eridan told him to. He patiently waited, excited on the inside for the time Sabriel would start moving.
2015-07-12 11:08:47 -
🌀
Eridan threw the lines onboard with a practiced ease, pulling himself up and shutting the side gate in on movement before hurrying to the wheel. "Okay, grab those lines. There's a wooden handrail along the top, keep on hand on that at all times, the ropes should be able to get off with one hand." Even so, he used more caution when reversing his boat out, keeping an eye on Dave as he backed her out into the slipway of the marina and turned for the exit into the channel. "Got all those ropes?"
2015-07-12 11:12:49 -
●
"Got it, no problem here." He called out, having been a little surprised by how quickly it started moving, but pleased, nonetheless. The way how the water seemed to open a path for Sabriel had him looking for a while, but he couldnt say that the other boats didnt catch his attention as well. It was satisfying to watch.

Eridan eased her out into the open channel. He seemed to relax almost immediately, fins tilting low as he breathed in deep the smell of sea salt air. "Come back here Dave, I'd rather not have you falling off just yet." He grinned, nodding his head at the bench that wrapped the entirety of the inner cockpit. He'll put the ropes away once they were further out a bit, wondering if he,d left any room in the underseat storage spaces for the ropes, or if it was still full of buoys and fishing crap.

He glanced back once he was talked to again, smiling and nodding. "Oh captain my captain, do hold on." He said in a dramatic voice, before tugging the ropes in a bit more. He let them be once he was sure they wouldnt give them problems, and walked up to the cockpit, stuffing his hands in his swimming truncks' pockets. He figured that it would be useless to wear anything else. He looked around humming a little, not sitting down just yet. "Looks pretty nice from here. Everything, I mean."
