The smaller seahorse in Dave's hair doesn't seem to get the memo that he's supposed to go right away, but once he does, he immediately floats off his hair, but doesn't go away without first bumping against Sollux's goggles in goodbye. Dave finds it pretty cute.

Dave shrugs, holding Sollux's hand as he tugs him to swim, but he seems interested in finding out.

Sollux smiles a little, an actual smile, and he's totally thankful that the mouthpiece mostly covers it. Eridan's fins are twitching and flicking this way and that, catching the currents and hearing the low murmur of the fish.

"I wanna pet it." He went on, leading the way to where they'd seen it last time. "And race it. You two are so slow." He teased, smiling at Dave.

Dave totally saw it though, and he couldn't have been happier to finally see him smile after all these months. He pretends he hasn't though, just swimming.

He rolls his eyes, flipping him off, and continuing the slow swimming. He had been missing gym very often, which meant he just lost muscle and will to move. He was still toned though.

Eridan twisted so he'd come up beisde Dave and kissed his cheek, smiling fondly as he swam ahead again. He didn't stray too far now. Especially since they'd exited the coral and were coming up to where that shipwreck was. He couldn't see the shark, and was a little disappointed.

Sollux was especially uncomfortably in the wide open space of the ocean, and even though he could see the sky above him, and knew he'd have Eridan there just in case something went wrong, he still felt uncomfortable.

Dave smiled and leaned into the touch, running a hand through Eridan's hair. He liked how curly and soft it was, and could only think of how Sollux might make fun of it and make Eridan dislike it more. He'd stomp on Sollux's foot so hard if he did.

He noticed how tense Sollux became, and squeezed his hand, cocking his head as if to ask if he was alright.

He couldn't see the shark, which was curious, because this was the area it had made it's home, and while he knew that sharks travelled all over without keeping to a select area, most reef sharks hang around a certain spot for a few years. So something either scared it off, or it's exploring.

Eridan shrugged, turning back to them and taking Dave's hand to lead them back to the reef. "Shark's not there. S'probably exploring."

Dave nodded, kicking his feet so that he wouldn't just be dead weight, but still looked back at Sollux. Something was bothering him, for sure, and he wanted to know what it was.

Once they finally surfaced, he shook his head a bit to get the water off his hair, and took off the mouth piece. "You think we can go to the bioluminescent caves again, eventually?" He wanted to show them to Sollux, and he also wanted to be there with Eridan again.

"We can go there later, if you want? The high tide isn't for a few hours, and I don't want to get caught in a low tide in there. It means a long, boring climb up a waterfall." He stood, since it was shallower now, and stretched his arms up.

"Only you would think climbing up a waterfall ith boring." Sollux muttered, standing up now as well and pushing his wet hair out of his face.

Dave nods, smiling, and tugs him closer to kiss his cheek. He always feels the need to cover him in kisses after having that god damn mouth piece on. You don't know what you have until it's gone, it's true.

"You know, boring waterfall climbing isn't for everyone, especially not for hacker poles, so we better go soon." He teased.

Eridan rolled his eyes, but slung an arm around Dave's waist to hug him. He felt a little uncomfortable showing so much affection in front of Sollux, and didn't think it was fair that Dave paid all the attention to him. Sollux was in one of his quadrants too.

"We'll leave at midday, in an hour. The high is at one." He decided, splashing water at Dave.

Dave was paying attention to Sollux too, Eridan was just too busy being crazy over fish and water and also scolding him for paying attention to Sollux to notice that. Maybe he wasn't paying attention to him in a black way, ok, but still.

"Sounds good." With that, he sneakily placed his foot at the back of Eridan's knees, and pushed him back, making him fall into the water, just running away as he giggled after that. He really is just an unusually tall 6th grader.

Eridan spluttered, sneezing and glaring up at Dave from where he was now sitting. It was weird to sneeze underwater, because all that happened was a shit tonne of bubbles came out. He shifted, darting after Dave and grabbing him by his legs to drag him under as well.

Sollux rolled his eyes at them both (if he does it anymore he's going to go blind) and moves to sit in the shallows. What utter dorks. Though, he can't deny that the seahorses were pretty cute.

Dave laughed hard as he was brought down, and wrapped his arms around Eridan's neck, kissing his forehead when he managed to twist himself. "Love you." He muttered, smiling wide.

His fins wiggled happily, and he smiled at Dave, arms around his waist down and holding him close. He pressed a kiss to his cheek, just holding him close for a few moments. Having Sollux here put him on edge, but Dave seemed to be helping. "Love you too."

"I'm a seadweller and I've been swimming. Of course I taste like salt." He nuzzled his jaw, resting his cheek against his shoulder and holding him close. Dave was his security blanket now.

Dave settled for kissing his hair as they just stayed there, humming a little for him. "It's been a while since we've been here. Sorry if you don't like Sollux being around, we should have talked this out more thoroughly."

"It's fine. This is getting Feferi completely off my back as well, so it's okay. I can deal with a few days out here with him in close vicinity. So long as he doesn't try anything at me I'll be fine. I'm good at dealing with situations I don't really want to be in. If it gets too bad I'll just go for a swim or something."

He laughed a little, and rolled his eyes. "Do you want me to sleep with you tonight?" Dave sure wanted to, but Eridan might have a different opinion so he might as well ask. "We could cuddle on our blanket pile for the whole night."

"You need to spend time with Sollux as well remember." He chided, gently knocking his horn against his chin. "But no. I'll cuddle with you tomorrow night." He kissed his jaw again with a smile, eyes closed as he just held him.

Eridan snickered, fins wiggling even as he pushed Dave away once the kisses get too much. "You're far too kind for me." He said fondly, one hand messing with Dave's hair.

Sollux glanced at them, looking up from where he was messing with some shells and trying to find the perfect pippi. He wondered whether Eridan actually believed that, and realised he probably did.

He laughs, curling up a little against Eridan so that he couldn't be hit by things. "But Eridan is too kissable not to, c'mon. I'm gonna sleep with you tonight anyway, don't complain." He papped Eridan's cheeks with a satisfied smile.
