He made a quiet 'glub' sound when he was moved, fins flicking briefly, but the pillow was a good enough substitute for Dave apparently, because he simply curled up on it and nuzzled it a little. He didn't wake up fully, barely blinking his eyes open before exhaustion and the horn rubs sent him right back to sleep again.

That was absolutely adorable, and he will forever keep it in his memory. And also tease him about it later. With that done, Dave went to make himself some rice to mix with some tunna, since rice is the extent of his cooking abilities.

Eridan didn't even wake at the smell of food. True, he had been skipping out on sleeping again, but only because he was doing some catch up work for his course and making notes on his last bit of assessment. He was tired, and it was showing.

Dave just knew he wanted Eridan to sleep a lot. But then again, maybe he should go wake him up so that Eridan can sleep at night huh. Yeah. Yeah he should.

When the food is ready, Dave comes back to cover his cheeks in kisses, petting his hair, but not rubbing his horns.

Eridan woke slowly, blinking sleepily (and blearily because his glasses had fallen off his face) up at him. "Huh?"

He stretched and yawned, making another soft 'glub' noise.

Dave kissed the tip of his nose with a smile, finding him just God damn adorable. "Lunch time, I made some food. Don't worry, it probably won't kill you."

"It's not lunch time." He mumbled, pushing himself to sit up and fumble around for his glasses. He looked surprised when he grabbed his phone saw that it was indeed lunch time. "You made me sleep for like, three hours?!"

"Four hours, actually." He corrects with a smirk, sitting next to him. "Seems like you were sleepy, mister I-love-horn-rubs."

"Four hours?! Dave! Why did you let me sleep that long?" He sat upright, pouting up at him. "I wasn't sleepy. That sort of petting just... relaxes me to the point of napping I guess."

That's what I like to hear." Dave kissed his cheek before leaving, coming back a while later with two plates. "Who needs fancy chefs when you have chef Strider."

Eridan had moved himself to the end of the bed now, stretching and yawning before blinking up at him. He held his hand out for the plate, and decided that at least it looked edible.

He plopped down next to Eridan again, handing him the plate, and starting to eat his own. It wasn't bad at all, honestly, but probably just because he thought of looking up the recipe before making it.

Eridan leant against Dave a bit, eating slowly. "Why didn't you wake me up earlier?" He didn't realise, or ignored the fact, that that was basically what Dave always said to him.

"I have so been sleeping lately." He pouted at him, fins tilting low as he looked at him. Still, it was kinda nice to have a nap. "And I am not adorable." He stuck his tongue out at him, huffing.

"I wasn't up all night, and I was doing a bit of research. Besides, I feel asleep like a few hours before dawn. I had four hours of sleep." His cheeks flushed at that, and his fins flattened, embarrassed. "... no I didn't."
