He smiles a little at the question, and strokes his cheeks slowly. "Then you apologize and you fix it."

"Sure, where did you put it?" He just didn't have it in him to not want the phone. In all honesty, it made him feel a little better to have something else that was connected to Eridan in a way.

"It's in my bag. Gimme a sec." He carefully moved Dave off his lap before heading to the kitchen and his bag. He pulled the phone (in its new case) out and walked back to hand it to Dave. "I haven't done anything to it other than buy it and get you a nice custom made case."

Dave smiled wider, not because of the phone itself, more because of the case. He made himself comfortable on Eridan's lap again as he looked at the cover, taking his time to really take in the details. "I love the art." He muttered, still not wanting to turn it on. It probably did exactly what his old phone did anyway, just faster, he supposed. "Thank you."

He kissed his temple again, feeling a little pleased with himself. "I'm glad you like it. I did try to contain myself when designing the case." He teased, nuzzling his jaw.

Dave pressed a kiss to his cheek, nuzzling it as well. "I love you." Honestly, Dave appreciated Eridan, but it wasn't until Sollux came along being a nuisance that he really saw how good Eridan is to him. How ironic. "Can I take you out on a date?"

His fins had stopped being so tightly pressed to his head, and they were twitching and flicking a little as he tried to decide whether it was a good idea. He really wanted to go, but not if Dave was going to be uncomfortable. "... Are you really sure? You're not just doing this to make me feel special?"

"There's a place that's opened up on the pier by the water that I want to check out. It's not completely full on fancy, but it is the sort of thing you wear nicer clothes to. I don't think we'll need to book a reservation, unless you want to go at a different time." He studied Dave's face for a few seconds, looking hopeful. "I'm honestly fine with just getting take away and sitting here Dave. I don't want you uncomfortable."

"They've got tables inside and some outside along the pier, I don't mind sitting at either, but it's your choice." He wondered who would be paying. He didn't mind it, but he'd really feel special if it was Dave. But Dave needed his money for other things. Maybe this wasn't such a smart idea?

Nobody ever said it was a smart idea, honestly. Dave had savings that he was willing to spend on Eridan. The real problem would be when his income didn't cover all the bills and needs anymore, which was still a thing. "We'll sit outside then, its probably nice out."
