I'm not good at black." He combed his hands through Dave's hair, tipping his head forward so that he could press a few kisses to his forehead before dropping to his lips. He hesitated, eyes closed and not quite believing what he was saying. "Don't.. disregard it straight away. Having a black means you want to make them better because you hate that they're so stupid or useless or fuckin' horrible. You might be able to change Sollux."

"I want it there forever" He hurried to add, not wanting Eridan getting any funny ideas with his low sense of self esteem and junk. His explanation did make sense though.

He leaned into the kisses, relaxing, and he stopped to listen to what he was saying before he went for a kiss himself. A sense of relief washed over him, and even though there was still a bit of disgust directed to Sollux and himself deep down, it was mostly okay now. Now he was clean. "He's a dick." He mutters. "I'll... think about it I guess, if it means he'll leave you alone, /and/ if you're okay with me coming back home all fucked up and needing extra cuddles." He tried to joke a little, but he really still wasn't okay with the whole quadrant thing. "Quadrants are weird. I don't think it would work out even if i wanted it to."

"If it means I can patch you up and kiss you better and have a reason to be able to smack him around as well because he went too far then I'm fine with it. It will mean, if you take him black, that you won't always be staying at my place. Part of being in a black relationship means that if you've injured your partner more than bruises and bite marks, it's your job to patch them up, fix them. Because you're not supposed to break your black. Remember that." He wished that he'd known that when he was a kid, so that he could call Vriska out on her shit before it got too bad.

Surprisingly it had taken Sollux to point out that it was wrong, while they were black. Eridan had thought he was lying, because how Vriska was was how black partners were supposed to be, right?

Apparently not.

Eridan dropped his head to rest against Dave's shoulder, running his hand gently over his hair. "I love you."

"You can do that whenever you want. Hell, you can be my private sexy nurse." He said, a small smile on his face. "Will it be fine if I grope your butt from time to time, nurse Ampora? You know I can't resists it." He teased, but really, he didn't like the idea of spending time with Sollux at all.

He snorts. "I'll be with him a lot to stitch him up then." He grumbled, not actually meaning it. If that had a potential of being a relationship, he wouldn't do that. "If he talks shit about you though, that's his own problem, I draw the line there. I'll send him straight to the nearest hospital and let him rot there. Won't even send a get better card." He snorts

He pulled Eridan into a hug, nuzzling his shoulder a little. "I'm thinking of getting a personalized nose ring, by the way, with your sign on it." He really meant what he said, plus it would be beautiful to spite Sollux that way. "I want your sign all over me. I'm yours. I love you."

"I'd make a shit nurse. I don't have the patience for dealing with upset grumpy drugged up people." He smiled, nuzzling Dave's hair. The numb, bad feeling in his gut wasn't gone, but at least it had eased now. It wasn't as bad.

"That's.. usually a thing that happens as well. Most black partners won't specifically target another quadrant mate unless it's clear on the grounds of light teasing. He's probably only going off at me now because it gets a rise out of you." He shrugged, kissing his temple.

That startled a laugh out of him, and he pulled back a bit to look at Dave in surprise. "You're what? Why? Why would you want my sign dangling off your nose?" It seemed a bit odd to him, but mainly because he'd come to know that people didn't really want his sign on shit.

He smiled a little at Eridan, glad he made him laugh. "At least I'll get violet spikes to replace these ones. I like your colour, I just want it to be clear I'm completely yours." And he wanted Sollux to engrave that into his brain. He pressed a soft kiss to his lips, smiling wider. "I think I look good in violet either way."

Your face may be clear, and he might think I was too chicken to put my colour anywhere on you, but you and I will know where it is, and if he were to ever see you without a shirt he'll be slapped right upside the face. He presses their foreheads together, letting them rest like this, and squeezes Eridan a little. He really needed to hear that. "You want to come have lunch with me? Or order take out?"

Dave wrapped his legs around his waist, laughing a little. "We can order a bit of everything. Cuddles and food sounds like heaven right now." He grabbed his phone, and glanced down to see what he was doing, before leaning back a bit to talk on the phone. He ended up ordering a few kinds of foods. There would be leftovers, but he supposed he was ordering dinner for himself too.

"Best boyfriend." He tucked his face against Dave's neck, holding him close and just listening to him talk and feeling the beat of his heart under his hand. It was definitely helping calm him down after all that. He kissed Dave's cheek once he was done on the phone, holding him close and whispering another little 'I love you'.

Dave smiled wide, now looking gleeful, and he kissed the tip of Eridan's nose, getting closer to him again. "I love you too. Tons." He ran his hands along the other's shoulders, and kept pressing kisses to his cheeks and lips, enjoying the comfort.
