Go home before she gets here. I am not letting her get you." His own safety was obviously not something known to him right now.

Eridan had an expression of equal worry on his face, and didn't shut his door until the elevator doors had closed. He rested his forehead against the door once he closed it, not even bothering to lock it. He moved to sit at one of the chairs at the table, phone sitting next to him as he just waited.

He went to his place, and texted Rose again once he was in. "Eridan is probably staying there, he just sent me home."

His leg was bouncing like crazy as he sat and waited, shoulders tense. He tried hard to keep his mind blank, his face neutral.

He heard the door open and took a deep breath, letting it out slowly.

"I am sorry Dave."

"Kanaya just left, and I think I have managed to convince her to lay off a little."

Eridan watched her approach out of his peripheral vision and take a seat in the chair opposite him. There were two others, but he barely glanced at them.

Feferi just waited, watching him with a blank expression.

"I love him. I will die for him. And if that's not enough for you than so be it." His voice was low, and he didn't look away.

Feferi and Kanaya were discussing something in low tones with occasional glances at him. Eridan wasn't paying the slightest bit of attention, he didn't want to know anyway.

His attention was focused on Sollux, who seemed interested in dicking around with his stuff. Asshole.

"You were warned, Eridan."

"I was told not to quadrant anyone. And I haven't. He made the first move on me, and I told him of everything I was before we even went sailing. I haven't done anything wrong."

"You've put another person at risk."

"And so has Vriska. And Kanaya here. Or are they not part of the 'keep them lonely for the entirety of their life' scheme?" He cut in, staring her down. "I'm not leaving him. He's the nicest thing that's ever happened to me and you can't take him away. You swore me that much, remember?"

Feferi seemed to ponder that, before raising a hand slightly. Sollux shifted closer and Eridan braced himself. "I remember that. I am merciful, Eridan, given the input of Kanaya's girlfriend and how you seem to actually care for him. But, you still broke what I ordered you to not do. You entered a relationship with someone. Sollux?"

Eridan thought it was entirely unfair that he was the one being beaten up when he had been all civil and even courteous an- OW FUCK.

His chest was on fire and he was on the floor gasping. A searing pain slashed across his face and he groaned, curling up. Sollux seemed to be having far too much fun beating him up.

He wanted Dave.

He wanted to not to be conscious for this.

Bro had loads of fun calming Dave down from his imminent panic attack. By which he meant he had to bring him juice and swear that ass would be kicked if Eridan was hurt.

That was not enough, but it was a beginning, since he'd take great pleasure in fucking up someone that fucked Eridan up.

At a certain point, they just go check on his wound and do something to distract themselves.

Feferi was only happy when Eridan stopped moving. She raised a hand and Sollux backed off. Eridan bared his teeth weakly at her when she crouched down in front of him, eyes hazy with pain. "I would tell you to abandon this relationship, but you wont listen, will you?" When Eridan didn't reply she pressed a hand to his neck and pushed a little. He choked and quickly shook his head, trying to get away. "You really do care for him, don't you." He closed his eyes and nodded once.

"I'm not leaving him."

Feferi sighed and stood up. "If I hear one report of you causing a fuss or harming this human in any way, you will not live to see the dawn, am I understood?"

He nodded again, not moving from his curled up position on the ground. So far, it seemed like he was getting the green light. He could stay with Dave!

Feferi nodded to Sollux, "you can have you revenge. Keep him alive, his blood's too hard to get out of the wood." And with that she left, the door slamming shut behind her.

Dave eventually talked Bros ears off, so he just had to drive him to Eridan's place. Bro did bring his katana along, mostly for show, and Dave had already wrapped protective tape around his knuckles in advance.

Bro could not believe that Dave was so willing to kick ass for someone.

"What if we're late? What if he's already-"

"Lil man chill. There's nothing you can do besides going there." He said as they went up in the elevator. "You need to relax, and if something happens, you will be there. Understood?"

He sighs, biting his lip still. "Yeah. Yeah ok."

Dave's shades had stayed at home, but Bro insisted in brining his own along.

Soon, they walk in, only to be greeted by Sollux lifting Eridan in the air with his psionics, laughing to himself.

Dave doesn't think twice, he sees Eridan all bloody at the first thing he does is get a sweet and satisfying punch on the back of Sollux's head, making him grunt as he fell to the ground, dropping Eridan in the process. "What the fuck are you doing!" He looks angry, oh yes. Dave isn't going to fuck around. He managed to get a kick his ribs as he talks, but that doesn't make Sollux too happy either by the scowl on his face.

Kanaya had made no move to intervene while Sollux got his fill in. She privately wondered whether there'll be any seadweller let by the time he's done.

She's rather surprised as Dave bursts in, looking at him with a raised brow.

Eridan wasn't even aware Dave had arrived. He was, however, aware of the ripped fin, the broken nose, the possible broken rib, and the countless scratches and burns and bruises that were dotting up on his skin like morbid flowers. Sollux hadn't gone for the gills yet, well at least not with his claws. The kick would leave them bruised for longer than a week and fuck breathing hurt. Everything hurt and one eye was closing up from the psionical-backed punch.

Oh.

He stopped.

Who?

He caught sight of blonde hair and thought he really was dead. "Da'e?" He doubt anyone heard him, not over the sound of Sollux's angry hissing and the harsh sob-sniffle of his own breathing.

Dave isn't paying any sort of attention to Kanaya, he's just going for it.

Sollux goes to stand up, the scowl replaced by a slight smirk. "You like what you see? Eridan's shitty little face smashed in by my-" Dave goes for the face now, not too softly either, followed by a hook to his jaw.

Sollux growls, going to get a punch in, but Dave was tripping him. Ups. Look at that, he's on the floor.

Bro nods at Kanaya, tipping his hat. "Howdy."

Eridan's close to sobbing, curled up on the floor and bleeding as he tried to find the energy to get up and stop them before Dave gets hurt. Stupid troll, stay down and don't move.

Oh hey Sollux is on the floor. Dave tripped him. Like he said he would. That thought manages to pull the smallest of smiles from Eridan.

Kanaya glances at the other Strider, brow raised elegantly. "Are you going to stop them or am I going to have to?" This wasn't the plan. The plan was beat up Eridan not watch Sollux get his ass kicked.

"Oh I'm not gonna do anything." He shrugs. "If anything I'm gonna watch. And stop you from interfering." Bro leans against the wall, arms crossed. "I ain't teaching the little man to be a little bitch. He better damn well help his boyfriend."

Dave delivers a sharp kick to Sollux's mouth, and glares at Kanaya. "And /you/, you fucking bitch, what the fuck are you doing looking at him? You're as bad as him!"

Sollux's eyes start sparkling, but Dave stomps on his ribs before he has the time to focus enough to use them. "If you don't stay the fuck down I swear to God I'll break your face in three after your fingers."

Bro calmly walks over to Eridan, and picks him up. "C'mon, let's get you out of here. After this you can get all nice and patched up." He walks with him to the bedroom, and puts him down, coming back soon enough for back up.

Kanaya glared coldly at Dave, drawing herself up tall. "Eridan deserves this. It would be wise of you to stop interferring and back off." She moved forward, shoving Dave aside and stooping to pick up Sollux's now limp form. "You're lucky Rose likes you. I will not anger my girlfriend, and will evetually inform Feferi of who beat Sollux up in return." She turned and stalked out of the apartment, Sollux slung over her shoulder.

Eridan couldn't help the whimper as he was picked up, struggling weakly against Bro as he tried to keep his eyes on Dave. "Da'e." He choked out, coughing hard enough to halt his breathing. He let himself be carried after that, gasping for breath and maybe crying a little. He wasn't sure if it were tears or blood.

Dave was glaring dangers at Kanaya right the fuck back. "Tell bitch princess to send someone that isn't a scrawny shit sponge if she wants a job well done. Also fuck this guy." He frowned, though not doing anything about being shoved off. He muttered something about wanting to dislocate both of his arms, but as she was out, he heard Eridan.

He closed and locked the door, rushing over to the bedroom, looking worried. "Eridan, I'm here, and I think I broke his teeth with my foot, cus if not the white things on my shoe are concerning." He doesnt know why that was the first thing he said. Maybe because he kinda wanted to cheer him up though he was in pain. "You need anything? Uh- uh water, Bro go get water."

"And painkillers." Bro adds, going off to find those.

Eridan reached for him, and it was probably his eyes (where the fuck did his glasses go?) but his fingers looked funny. He managed to get a weak hold of Dave's shirt and ow. Very much ow. Eridan tried to pull him closer, curling up on himself as he started coughing again. "Da'e"

Everything really hurt and he really wanted to just sleep and his fin was /burning/ oh god make it stop.

He was gasping for breath again once the coughing stopped, tears sliding down his cheeks and mingling with the blood.

Water would be nice, painkillers would be even better. But he'd rather know just what's wrong with him right now before doing anything in case he fucked up further.

Dave looked panicked again, and just moved so that Eridan was resting against his chest. "I know it hurts, its okay, its going to be okay in a bit." He holds him loosely, in order not to hurt him, and kisses his forehead. "I'm going to make it okay."

Bro soon comes back with the pills and water, that he offers Eridan.

He rested his head against his shoulder, hauling his tired and sore body closer until he was curled up against Dave and just cried.

He was probably getting blood and tears over Dave's shirt and it was going to stain and he'll be really sorry about it later but now he just clung as tight as his broken fingers and scratched palm would allow him to.

He didn't notice Bro coming back or the pills offered to him.
