Dave was sitting down this time, sipping from his coffee mug merrily, one earphone in his ear, and the other hanging in front of his shirt. As soon as he hears the Ampora though, he looks up, a smile forming on his face as he tugged the other earphone off. "Well good morning for you too, yes I'm doing fine, don't worry." He said in a mocking tone, getting up, but leaving his mug on the table. He walks behind the counter, smiling a little wider once he notices his eyebags certainly dont look as deep as the ocean itself, maybe a bit less, like, maybe adele was rolling in there, but not much more than that.
"You're looking much better today though. Plus I wouldn't call roughly 7 hours of sleep 'napping'." Dave teased.

"How would you know I slept for the rest of the night?" He challenged, smiling regardless. He glanced at the time and saw he could stay for at least an hour here before his exam.
"I did sleep longer than two hours, but not the whole seven." A blatant lir, but he must conserve his reputation at all costs.
"You however, don't look like you went to sleep immediately after we stopped talking."

"Well your eye bags tell me otherwise, I still say you slept the whole seven hours" he smirks "or at least six." He starts making the cappuccino, the plate with the croissant already on the counter. "And how would you know that?" Hr challenged back. "What about me gives you that vibe?"

Eridan just grumbled and pulled out the loose change to pay.
"You weren't sitting next to a pile of study notes an' you look in dire need of a nap." He said, almost triumphantly. "Bet you studied for another three or so hours an' then crashed. Bet you slept in later than you would an' didn't bother eating at home. You ate here instead." He raised an eyebrow as he held the money, glancing up to find the cost of the cappuccino.

"I never sit next to a pile of study notes, i come here to work and talk to people, not to study." He smirks. "You also seem to forget I ate here last time too. The food is tastier, and I get to talk to you while I eat. Plus I always look like I need a nap." He shrugs with a shit-eating-grin, though he did guess it correctly. "It's 4.30$ by the way."
2015-06-27 23:13:24 -
🌀
"So I'm correct in my assumptions?" He was grinning, handing over the amount required and smirking like a cheshire cat.
"I will admit that the slightly longer than necessary nap did appear to do my good in terms of this fucking cold." He rubbed at his nose with the back of his hand, scowling slightly. "Though my opinion on sleep still stands." He picked up the croissant, too hungry to wait for Dave to finish making his coffee and headed to sit opposite of where he'd been sitting earlier.

"Maybe you are, or maybe you aren't, I'll tell you when you confirm that you did sleep the whole 7 hours" He shrugs, still grinning. He finishes his coffee in little less than a minute, and carries it to the table after putting the change in the cashier. "What did I tell you, you look much better now. Well the eye bags are your trademark, but still, its an improvement." Placing it down in front of Eridan, Dave sat back down, putting his hands around his mug.

"I slept more than my usual." That's all he wanted to give, making a face at Dave as he placed his coffee down in front of him. "An' I don't look better. I'm just not feeling as shitty anymore. There's a difference." He sipped at the coffee, sighing in content before pulled a bundle of cards out of his bag and frowning at them. "No point me extra cramming right now, it'll just be useless." He put the flashcards away and picked up the chocolate croissant.

"Whatever you say Ampora, whatever you say." He took a sip of his own sweet, still hot, beverage, the grin faltering into a smirk. "Put those away, jesus christ. You're not going to learn anything right before the exam. Well. I mean if it was like a philosophy exam yeah that would work, but that's besides the point." He grabs the fork that was resting on the small plate in front of him, cutting a piece of a piece of cake so that he could eat it along with the coffee.
2015-06-27 23:30:51 -

"I wasn't planning on learning anything. These are revision notes. Study helpers. Things that I should remember for this exam. Learn something new, pah." He scoffed and rolled his eyes, sipping his drink.
Still, he looked distracted, brow furrowed as he ate his croissant and sipped his coffee slowly. Trying to remember a hoard of names and dates and reasons for deaths. Which was all written on the flashcards, but he needed to remember them without looking.

"You'll be fine, just relax and drink the coffee." He rolls his eyes with a soft smile. "So stop looking like you'll kick someone's ass if they dare distract you from probably trying to remember shit for the upcoming exam that you already know, and if you don't know, won't know anyway." that might be the best advice that came out of his mouth up to date.
2015-06-28 00:14:09 -

"I'm not gonna kick someones ass." He probably would, and he knew it. Eridan scowled down at his coffee, fins flappin twice in irritation. He glanced at the clock, finger tmaking ticking noises against the mug in his hands. "I know what I'm doing." Pointless attempts at convincing himself that he did know everything he needed to (he didn't. He got sidetracked by music and pleasant conversations with someone), and that he was completely at ease for this exam. "Stupid dead people an' their ridicules mundane achievements. 'Loss is nothing but change', tch." He scoffed again, narrowing his eyes at his coffee. "Stupid philosophical asshole."

Dave shook his head a little, taking the chance to turn off the music that was still playing. "So, when are you thinking about sailing again?" He looks like he needs it. It would be pretty cute if he got to watch him swim with seahorses or something too, though he wasn't hoping for that to happen antime soon.
2015-06-28 00:39:45 -
🌀
"Hm?" Oh, sailing. That sounded like such a good idea right now. "I'm hoping to go as soon as I can. Probably a few days after my exams finish." He relaxed in his chair after a quick glance at the clock. Still plenty of time. "Would you like to come with me when I go out? When do your exams finish again? Thursday?" Eridan deemed sailing as the proper reward for going through exam hell, and would be more than happy to take Dave along with him.
2015-06-28 00:47:03 -
●
"Sure, that sounds like a good way to chill." Dave offered him a small smile "Yeah, thursday, so I should be free the whole day after 9am that day. Where are you thinking of going?"
2015-06-28 00:50:55 -
🌀
"Probably back to that place I found, the one I made the map of. There were a few things I still wanted to check out." He returned the smile, head tilted slightly as I thought. "Would you want to go for three days? It's about half a day's sail with good winds to get there. An' it's such a nice place. If you could get your hands on scuba gearI could show you the underwater caves and stuff. Maybe find a shark again. There were a few reef sharks there. Beautiful creatures. Very fun to swim with. They like to race."

Dave's eyes nearly glimmer with excitement at the offer, though of course he can't see that, and his voice doesn't convey much it either. "Shit, you mean it? Fuck yes I'd like to go for three days, that sounds... dude, just yes. I'm in, i'll get the gear." That doesn't mean his words aren't enough to express it very clearly though. He assured him, his lips twitching as he tried his best to not straight up grin, but alas he failed.

Dave's break in mask and massive grin made Eridan smile as well. "Gonna treat you to the wonders of the ocean an' my fantastic sailing abilities. So shall we say Friday, Saturday, Sunday? Is that good with you? I'll have to check the weather forecast for it all, an' stock up the yacht, but it should be good." He's smiling and his fins are wiggling happily, picking up on Dave's excitement and his own.

"I just have to call up someone to cover for my shifts, otherwise, I'm free as bird. And hold up, did you say yacht?" He wasn't one to be materialist in the least, but he still had to wonder where the hell he was getting the money for that. Maybe from the illegal fighting. He'd ask him about that later, for now he just appreciates the way his fins are wiggling, as he still hasn't gotten used to them. "What should I bring besides the gear? I mean, and besides the obvious, like clothe and shit."
2015-06-28 01:51:58 -
🌀
"Yeah, yacht. Well she's a sloop yacht but a yacht all the same. 44-foot, broad mainsail an' jib an' stong headsail. Nearly thirty years old, an' in perfect condition thanks to yours truely." He grinned, all smug and happy with wiggly fins. "Bought her off an old human with a foggy eye and exactly two hundred mini maps in a folder. She was not a cheap boat."
Eridan finished off his coffee, rolling his wrists to crack the joints before he spoke again. "Whatever form of entertainment you think you'll need, likes books and stuff. I have a lot of stuff on board already, books an' fishing rods an' a deck of cards somewhere. If you need any specific foods bring them yourself, I'm just going to get what I'm normally get, but enough for two people."

"Shit, that takes some paper. It sounds like a dream, honestly, never been to fancy places or had many fancy things" Despite the money that his brother was making with his little business and another part-time job to keep entertained, they didn't go out too much, so Dave never really got to enjoy it for the most part. "So, what did you name her then? I assume she has a name, for you to be calling the boat a she." He asks as he eats the last bit of cake on the plate.
"Mmh, I'll give it some thought, im not sure of whatever I'd need. But again, I have a week still, so i have more than enough time to chill and figure that out. Oh and I'll bring AJ, definitely. You're about to find out one of my addictions."

"Sabriel." Eridan checked himself, biting his tongue again. He'd been told that he happened to brag about his privileges and opportunites and wealth. And he did not want Dave to hate him, especially not over something as trivial as wealth.
"The old man wished for her name to remain, so Sabriel she is. And ships in general are called she. There are several reason, one being a Mediterranean thing about romance between the sea and the sailors. Another is how women were the tempters of the sea, sirens an' the like, an' so to appease them, men called their ships 'she', so as to show they understood who really ruled." He shrugged, "I don't know why, but ships are shes an' Sabriel is a dream to sail."
He blinked at Dave in confusion, fins tilting up slightly. "I can send you a list of necessities an' stuff. A checklist sort of thing I use. An' what the hell is AJ."
2015-06-28 02:31:36 -
●
"Hey, turns out the old man had a nice taste in names. I like it, it's pretty simple." He smiled to himself, hearing him out on the explanation. "And I would have never fucking guessed. Well I guess that's better than some person calling their ship 'Joe' or some shit. Female names suit boats better, do not ask me why."
"Eridan. Eridan I can't believe you don't know what AJ is, holy shit. AJ is apple-flavoured ambrosia sent to me by the gods themselves Eridan. I take it that you've tried it before."
2015-06-28 02:37:54 -

"I agree. I like the name, it suits the boat. Easy to say too when I'm radioing in to a marina or cove guard." He shrugged and glanced at the clock. Not too long until his exam now.
Eridan faced Dave again, raising his eyebrow at him. "Apple juice? You're squawking at me like some dying bird because of apple juice?" He couldn't help it, he started to laugh, fins wiggling. "Apple juice. Oh that's good. No I haven't tried apple juice."

"Correction, I'm squawking at you like a thirsty bird because of the best beverage ever." He pauses a little, wait that sounded wrong. He then hurries to add "Well thirsty in the i-need-to-drink way. And holy shit, you're going to love this thing, I'll bring you some, I don't think they sell it here. At least not the good stuff."
He finished his coffee as well now, and stuffed his hands in his jacket's pockets. "When do you need to get going?"
