The bell above the main door rang, and he looked over, smiling wide once he saw a familiar little brat and a nice looking grandma.

Jake gasped in surprise and flung himself at Dave, hugging him around his middle. "Dave!"

Dave laughed a little, patting his head softly, but before he had the chance to do anything else, Jake was already flinging himself at Eridan as well. After he put the tea down of course. Something tells him that Jake was only waiting for that. "E'rdan!"

His face lit up once he saw Jake, like it did when he saw Dave when he got back. He set his cup down, pushing his chair out a bit and opened his arms to him. He laughed softly, ruffling up his hair. "Hey Jake. How're you kiddo?"

Jake giggled, squeezing him a bit, his chubby cheek squished against Eridan's chest. "I'm great! Nana is here with me for breakfast! How are you, mister?" The grandma laughed softly, and Dave got up to take their order, leaving Jake alone with Eridan.

"I'm all fine Jake. I'm here for breakfast as well. Dave got me brownies." He grinned, keeping an arm around him to hold him steady as he was in his lap now. "What're you gonna have for breakfast?"

Jake moved around in his lap to be sitting sideways, and swung his little legs happily, still hugging Eridan. "Really? Oh gosh those are really good! I asked for cookies though, Nana says they have huuuuuge cookies here!" He takes his arms and extends them as much as possible to really say they're huge, and then goes back to hugging him as he giggles. "Also chocolate milk! I love chocolate milk."

"The cookies are good here. What kind are you gonna get? I love the choc chip ones." He grinned, fins wiggled as he bopped his forehead. "I like the hot chocolate. It's the best here."

Jake turned into a ball of giggles as Eridan bopped his forehead, reaching up to do the same to him, but with his whole hand, even though it was very softly, as he was very clumsy. "I'm gonna get those! Choco-chip is the best!"

"Talking about choco-chip and chocolate milk." Dave smiled at the kid, and set down his breakfast: three big cookies and a mug of warm chocolate milk. The lady said to get three, so that if he ended up not eating one they could take it home in a box. Grandma English though, she was having a croissant and orange juice. Dave sat on the opposite side of the table, next to the lady, so that Jake could sit next to Eridan.

"My cookies!!!" He doesn't get off Eridan's lap, he just reaches for them, and muches on one, looking up with his big green eyes to hand Eridan another cookie.

He shook his head when offered a cookie, smiling at him. "Nah they're all yours Jake." He smiled, bouncing his knee slightly so that he was jiggled gently as he ate. "They're all for you."

He reached for his tea, taking a few sips every so often. He smiled at Jake's grandma, nodding his head in greeting.

"But Nana says we should all share our stuff with people we like." He insists a little, but starts giggling when he is bounced. "I'll just put it here for you!" He puts the cookie on the small plate the tea cup came on, and keeps giggling.

Oh the grandma is definitely delighted with the boys. She really likes how happy Jake is with them. "You are very good with children." She smiles softly

"Yeah but it's yours. You don't have to share with me Jake, its all for you. I've already ha my quota of sweet things." He grinned at Dave, before just smiling at Jake.

"I'm probably not, Jake's just special I guess. First child not to pull at my fins or scream."

"But I want to share." He mutters, though really, if he ate the two cookies and was still hungry by then, he would change his mind.

Dave smiles back, nodding his head in approval.

"I'm special!" He grins. "I really like your funny ears, they're pretty, but I wouldn't pull them." He shook his head vigorously. It looks like it might make him dizzy and send his glasses flying if he isnt careful.

"I'll split the last one with you. I'll have half of it if you're still hungry by the end of these two." He said, ruffling his hair with a smile.

"Thanks Jake. That's real clnsiderate of you." His fins wiggled a little in response.

He makes a surprised sound when his fins wiggle, his pupils dilating. "That was so cool! Can you do it again, pretty pretty please with sugar on top?"

"Now, dear, don't hassle Eridan, he's being so nice to you." Jake looks at his grandma, and looks disappointed, just drinking his milk quietly after she said that.

He looked a bit confused at him, wondering what he was going on about. He was so used to just not feeling it when his fins wiggled, that it took a bit for him to realise.

He hurried to placate both of them. "Oh, it's fine. Jake they do that naturally. Just wiggle their way through whatever they want. Dave makes it a point to try and see if he can make them wiggle via amusing prospects. If I think about it enough I can make them wiggle." And he did, fins twitching at first then wiggling quickly as he smiled at him.

He peeks up when Eridan starts talking again, and laughs softly, chocolate milk covering his upper lip. He grinned when they wiggled again, clearly getting excited. "Oh golly that is so cool! You're the coolest!" He watches in amusement, Dave laughing to himself.

He laughed as he spoke, shaking his head a little in amusement. "I really am, aren't I." He nudged Dave with his foot under the table, huffing a breath at him and smiling. He finished off his tea, setting the cup back down.

Dave felt a bit of a need to reply to that, but it would only ruin the kid's fun, and he isn't about that life. Instead, Dave snickers, winking at him over the aviators.

Jake nodnodnods, drinking more milk. "You are so sooooo cool. Like the heros in the movie's!"

He stuck his tongue out at Dave, fins wiggling a little at him before he turned his attention back to the kid in his lap.

That made him laugh and shake his head. "Oh, no. Nah not me Jake. Ddave's more the one being all hero-y and stuff. I'm just here with wiggly fins."

Dave grinned, laughing a bit and shaking his head to himself.

Jake looks at Dave, and then back at Eridan. "But he's so small." Little kids have no brain-to-mouth filter. Dave cracks up laughing, covering his mouth with his hand, and the grandma looks a little at loss for words. "Darling, even small people can be heroes. And trust me, Dave is everything but small. Eridan is just really really tall."

"I really like Eridan and Dave." He concludes, wiping his mouth to a napkin before hugging Eridan again.

Eridan started laughing, pressing a hand to his mouth and shaking with it. "He's the shortest superhero. Fights by bending time an' where's a red cape that's actually a blanket." He snickered, bouncing Jake on his knee again as he laughed with Dave.

"I am really tall though. I have to duck with most doorways." Not really, but it sounds better. More impressive. Super tall fish boy lookout.

He hugged him back, smiling.

Jake was definitely impressed. "You gotta come with me to the park, my friends will all be so jealous and they'll really like you." He muses. "Oh oh and can I sit on your shoulders when we go? After we go past all the doors though." He giggles.

Jake isn't really asking him to go now, but he's already dreaming of it. The grandma seems like she's about to protest, like her grandson is bothering them, but Dave hasn't seen Eridan so happy with anyone but him, so he gently holds her back from saying anything. "Sure little guy, when we're free we'll give you a call."

"You're friends might get a bit freaked out by me, Jake." He gentled his tone a little, still bouncing him on his knee. "But sure. When we've got free time I'll come with you to the park." He grinned up at the two across from them, fins wiggling. He didn't quite understand why he was so happy. Maybe it was because here was a kid who legitimately was not screaming because was scary, and thought he was cool.

He shook his head vigorously again "How can they be scared of someone so cool? I mean your horns look so awesome and- and you have glasses like me, see?" He pointed at the squared glasses on his face, as if they weren't huge and pretty noticeable. "And you're also really really fun!" He grins, now just having fun bouncing on his knee.

Dave smiled wide at Eridan, nodding a little. The grandma eventually also smiled. "Thank you."
