Eridan shrugged, closing his eyes and curling up a little more against him. "How would I know Dave? I've been lying for dead here for however long it's been since I got my ass kicked. I thought you got the door after they left?" He sounded tired, and his voice betrayed how in pain he was.

"I'm probably going to be really difficult to deal with over the next few days. If you want to leave for however long or for whatever reason you can just go, I'll understand."

He scrunched up a little, uncomfortable. He knew that, fuck did he know Dave loved him, he said it enough, but what Sollux had said earlier, before Dave arrived. It just stuck like gum on his shoe. Asshole gum that never comes off.

He let the topic drop for now, curling up in his lap and closing his eyes again. He was almost a ball, and fuck it pressed at and pulled at some of the burns and his rib was on fire but it felt safer than taking up more space. It just felt easier to hide from pain when he felt smaller. "...Love you."

"I love you too." He goes back to petting his hair, and checks the time. It's getting late, so he isn't too sure if Cronus will drop by today. And now that Dave started thinking of night time, he wonders what he should order for dinner.

Eridan didn't think Cronus would drop by today, and he wasn't too sure about tomorrow either. Cronus tended to forget things when he was on the water.

He couldn't see the clock, and with his bad glasses vision as well as shitty vision he wouldn't know the time anyway, but he knew that by the time an appropriate eating time came around, he wouldn't be hungry. Pain tended to give him an aversion to food for a day or two, depending how bad it was.

Soon, there was a knock on the door, and the sound of steps is heard.

Dave peeks to see who it is, seeing Bro with a bottle of pills in hand. "Store bought didn't do not for you?" He asks, setting down the pills on the bedside table. "These babies work really good. Problem is, they also make you sleepy."

He tensed a little at the knock, shifting to squint warily before just deciding to let Dave deal with it all. He was tired and sore and he didn't want to talk anymore.

Eridan wondered if these pills would help any better than the strong, store bought ones he had. He hoped so.

Dave thanked Bro, never stopping petting Eridan's hair. He takes his leave pretty quickly after checking that Eridan wasnt dying, leaving them be.

"You want to try these now?" At the very least they'd make him sleepy, which is good.

He nodded, shifting himself out of Dave's lap so that he could go get water and whatever else he deemed to get. These pills looked slightly bigger than his own, and he frowned at them. That was more out of childish 'ew pills gross' than anything else.

He got the water, and got him a piece of chocolate to go with it, since he could probably have something sweet right now.

He gets the pill, and hands it all over to Eridan, sitting back down. "Those will start taking effect in ten minutes tops."
