"There probably is one brewing already." He tilted his head slightly, rolling his eyes and putting his phone away. "Of course I am! Gods Dave I would'a thought you'd figure that by now!" He grinned and tilted his head, lifting a few pieces of paper here and there to find the coins he'd left on the table when he started pulling paper out of his bag. A cake sounded like something he could go for now.

The waiter waits for Eridan, as she saw he also wanted to order something, and Dave speaks only after he had ordered, still smiling to himself like a little shit. "Well then I'm glad you're treating me to trips to islands and shit, because otherwise that would have been unacceptable."

Dave shrugs. "I could, but I also could make her believe it for the hell of it. I'll think about it. It's not like I'm grossed out by the idea or uncomfortable. Luckily for me, I'm not in 5th grade anymore." Once the cakes got there, he thanked the girl, and handed her some change from his pocket.

Eridan just shrugged and muttered a 'your call', before picking up the little cake fork and taking a bit. "Do you have an exam tomorrow?" He asked by way of change of subject, shuffling a few papers into a more orderly sense to make room on the table.

"I have my last two tomorrow. One in the morning an' one in the afternoon. 45 minute gap in between." He grimaced slightly, but the taste of the cake made him sigh in content and relax.

He grinned up at Dave, more a smirk really. "You'll have to take pictures for him. Really rub it in. Also, I checked a few more things this morning. There's a 75% chance of seeing whales while we're out. There's a few pods still going through."

"It's best not to disturb pods when the migrate through, but if any hang around I can see if I can get through to them an' ask if we can swim with them. They're really intelligent an' so curious t' humans an' the lik. Even my ilk. You might be able to get some spectacular underwater shots, even if from a distance."

Eridan's grin got even smugger as he seemed to puff up with pride. "Faster than sharks an' dolphins when I go full out. Faster than those stupid little squeaky fish. Flying fish? I dunno. Super fast when I want to be." He grinned at him. "Don't worry, I'll stay slow an' make sure you don't get left behind."

"By the way, Jane already made a batch of those sweets you told me about. They sold out in an hour"

The mention of the sweets selling out made him smile. "Really? Do you know which one it was? Any humans try it? Has she tried all the recipes?"
