Tassek poked the bloodstain on the floor with his shoe and looked at his mother. "Well, that big reveal was great and all, glad to know I'm part of a cult, but maybe you should leave now." She looked melodramatically offended. "Oh, my baby's left the nest, he doesn't need me anymore." She was exaggerating, of course, trying to lighten the mood a little, but it was starting to tick him off. "I don't. Because I'm an adult and I never knew you. Please leave and don't torture anyone else on the way out."
