Eridan had to laugh as the kid clung to him. Even the security guard looked amused.

"C'mon kid. This lady's gonna take you to find your ma, an' she's gonna show you the seahorses again. Rem'ber that?" He could talk surprisingly gentle when he wanted to.

The kid made an excited noise at the mention of seahorses. Because fuck finding his mom, he's a big boy, he just wants the seahorses. "Horsies!" He says, making Dave smile. "Yeah, horsies, sea horsies. Can you go with the lady now?"

The kid kept grabbing his shirt. "Nuh-huh."

God damnit.

He snickered. "How about we just go with you." He said to the lady, rolling his eyes at Dave. "He just came up to us, an' I'm not sure from where."

The little kid nodded and made a happy sound, seeming pretty happy to be all curled up in Dave's arms and eating chips. Little free loader.

"Yeah, we can do that, I don't mind." He nodded, not having the heart to just push the kid away from him and make him cry. The thought didn't even come to mind, really.

"I saw him when we first came here, and I think he was alone there to... it's been a while. He has been lost for a good while. Hey, what's your name?"

The kid looked up at him with his big ol eyes. "Jake."

Eridan smiled at him, snickering softly as they headed away from the food court and the security guard sent out a call on the walkie. He walked close enough, watching the kid practically lie against Dave's chest. "You kid-stealer you." He teased.

"Well, Jake, we're gonna find your mama."

"Nanna!"

Dave rose a brow. "Nanna?"

The kid repeated it, grinning. "Your granny?" The kid just repeated the word 'nanna' again. How do you even get 'nana' from 'grandmother', he found himself wondering.

"Hey, I ain't stealing no kids, they're launching themselves at me and stealing my chips." He smiled a little, leaning over to peck Eridan's lips.

"You're stealing all the kids. Starting your life of crime early Dave?" He laughed but leaned into the touch anyway. He kissed his cheek and continued on. A call came through on the walkie that there was a distressed elderly woman by the seals. They headed that way.

He smirked, knowing how to get back at him for the teasing. "Hey Jake, you want to be held by my boyfriend?" He leans against the kid's ear, whispering loudly "I think he thinks you're really cool."

Jake giggles happily, finally letting go of Dave's shirt to make grabby hands at Eridan.

"Oh look, you kid-robber you, he likes you."

He handed the kid over as they walked over to the seals. It was a five minute walk.

"Oh Dave, no don't-" he tried to refuse, but the kid's face scrunched up and he sighed, opening his arms to take him. He suppressed a wince as Jake clung to him and jostled his wounds. He wiggled his fins at the kid, smiling as he laughed.

Jake giggles up at him, just grabbing his shirt, not putting any real weight on him. He probably weighted little more than a sac of flour, even though he had a little pudgy tummy because of baby fat. "E'dan!" He grinned.

He smiled at him, still wiggling his fins at him to amuse him as they finally got to the seals. His shirt was tight, it was the first one he grabbed after he'd finished bandaging himself up, hence why it hurt when Jake first clung to him. "S'my name yeah. Eridan." He flared his fins a bit, pulling a face.

Jake seemed to be really amused by his fins, squirming happily from time to time. "Er'd... Er... Er-idan." He managed to say, looking proud of himself. As he made a face, Jake giggled his little head off. "Silly!"

Dave had went with the security guard to talk with the old lady, see if the kid was hers, and she was relieved to see Jake was there. However when she saw Jake was having fun, she asked if she could just watch them for a little, making Dave grin.

Eridan laughed quietly, pulling another face and adjusting his grip on Jake so that he could hoist him up and bounce him a bit, before holding him properly again.

He caught sight of the old lady and Dave grinning and stuck his tongue out at him. "Found your nana Jakey. She's gonna take you to look at seahorses, okay?"

Jake giggled, looking really happy when he was bounced.

At the mention of his grandma, he looked back at her, and then at Eridan, hugging him around his neck before trying to run off, even if he was mid air, just kinda making a motion for him to put him down. "Sea horsies!"

Eridan looked surprised when he was hugged but returned it a bit anyway. He was smiling as he set him down, making his way to them as well. He smiled at the older woman, leaning against Dave a bit as he wrapped an arm around him and poked him in the ribs.

Jake was picked up by his grandma then, who he promptly hugged as well, having the old lady grin at the two boys.

Dave squeaked a little as his ribs were poked, but just smiling an placing his hand over Eridan's.

The old lady thanked them, and as she was half way through thanking them both, she stopped. "Young man, do I know you?" He said as he pointed at Dave.

Dave blinked. Did she? He doesn't remember talking to grandmas, but she might.

"Where was it... oh shoot I can't remember the name... do you not work at a coffee shop?"

Well Dave is just popular, apparently. After hearing that her nana new who Dave was, he excitedly asked if they could go and see him and E'idan' more often, making Dave try to hold back a grin as he leaned against Eridan.

He laughed softly both at the squeak and then again when Jake's grandma recognised Dave. He wiggled his fins at Jake as they spoke, smiling a bit when he heard that he wanted to meet again.

Jake tugged on the lady's shirt, pointing at Eridan. "E'idan said, horsies!" He said, as if to claim his reward on watching the seahorses, and Dave grinned at the kid. "Seahorses? You want to go see them now?" He nodded.

That reminded him that he still had a tankful to drop off. He was glad it wasn't an overly warm day and that they'd parked in the shade. They'd still probably have to leave soon.

He smiled at them both, quickly thanking the security guard as she headed off before turning back to them. "I know where the seahorses are here, have you been there yet."

"Not really, want to show me?" He smiled a little at him, pretty content to have seen how he acted with Jake. It was pretty cute, the both of them, specially when Eridan tried to make the kid laugh.

He nodded and started off, letting go of Dave and taking his hand instead. It didn't take long for them to reach the seahorses, and soon they were all standing in front of the tanks that held the seahorses.

He held his hand as he smiled, but soon moved to wrap both of his arms around Eridan's arm for the time being. "Think yours are already here?" He asked quietly.

He shook his head, leaning against him a bit. "No it'll take a few days for them to be accustomed to the water an' stuff. They generally wait a few days to introduce new batches anyway." He pressed a kiss to his cheek quickly. "We'll have to go soon. Still got that other batch to hand over."

He nodded, resting his cheek on his shoulder after he got the kiss, still smiling. He slowly let go of his arm and went back to holding his hand. "Yeah, we should go now, we still have to go to that thing you liked. Sorry for the hold up."
