Dave suddenly feels like he'd probably feel horrible I'd Eridan didn't like the present. He has no idea why, he just would feel like the worst. "Nah man, youre talking about a Strider here. Striders don't give shitty gifts. Ever."

He kissed his nose, rolling his eyes. "I guess I'll be the judge of that." He grinned, nuzzling his cheek. "Even so. I'll be happy with almost anything you give me. Even that shell you found got added to my collection, even if it's defining feature was that it was complete." He teased. It was also added to the collection because it was pretty.

"Hey, the shell is nice. I think." Now he isn't quite sure, and he is a little bummed out because now he doesn't know if he liked it or just shoved it in the box because it was whole.

He kisses his temple, shrugging. "It will be good. Mark my words."

He kissed him sweetly, smiling. "It is. It's unique, I like it. Do you know that I didn't actually have a shell from that beach? It usually takes me a while to find any good ones an' you give me a whole, pretty one."

He just laughed softly, kissing him again.

Dave ends up smiling now, relieved and very happy to hear it. He returns the kiss happily, and reaches for Eridan's hands to hold them. "See? Told you, Striders don't give shitty gifts."

An' while, yes I have heard you say that you love me on multiple occasions, an' yes I do remember saying it back, this is new an' interesting an' plus you haven't said 'I love you' in this current conversation therefore your previously worded eloquence will be the best thing I've heard all day." His grin was slightly cheeky, because Eridan logic only makes sense to Eridan on most occasions.

Eridan logic didn't make sense to anyone else, he is quite sure of it, but he laughs either way. "Well, I love you." He pecks his lips. "And I'm gonna miss you." He pecks them again. "And you're adorable."

He smiled at him, face scrunching up slightly with the force of it as he kissed him back. "I love you too. An' I'm gonna miss you too." That reminded him of his ponderings for the week spent Dave-less. He still wanted his opinion on tattoos. "I'm not adorable. I just like you."

Now, he didnt have the energy to translate that, but by the context and the similarity of the last word to "adoration ", he'd assume he said I love you.
