"She was beau--very nice." Oops. "Your angel, that is, not my friend. Well, she's pleasant too, in her own way, but that's not the point."

"Well, one would hope that they both were nice." Terezi pointed out. "Did you enjoy dreaming...at least?" She did remember the fact that he did want to know the sensation of sleeping and dreaming.

...did I? Did it even qualify as a dream, per say, since I was completely aware throughout the entire experience? "....yes. I believe so." I rested my chin in my hand and thought about it. It had definitely been relaxing, for the most part. "I'm not certain whether my interest was entirely justified, but it was definitely a worthwhile experience."

"Well, I'm sure you'll have plenty experiences like that." Terezi reassured him. For some reason, her throat felt dry. Well, she knew why. She hadn't devoured the innocent in a while, so that meant feeding time soon.

"...I suppose you're right." I stood up and stretched. I had an ache in my back, probably from staying in an odd position on the couch for so long. "Well, today I will find some sort of self-sustaining occupation, so that I not longer must impose on you." There was still the issue of no qualifications, however. "...any suggestions?"

Yes, ask the woman who has sustained herself just by doing under the table work for years. "Try foods and services." She suggested. "They hire almost anyone there. Though...I should probably go for a walk as well. Vampire urges, and all. I'm sure you understand."

Ah. Naturally. Foods and services? As in, feeding people? Restaurants and such, I suppose. Perhaps. Though I would probably start in-depth conversations with the customers and never take their order. "I'll be sure to keep an eye out. If you want to accompany me, you would be more than welcome." I reached out a hand to help her off the couch.

Terezi took his hand and pulled herself off the couch. This seemed like a good idea. Thankfully, it was just barley night, so most restaurants still would be open. At least she hoped so.

I released her hand and we went down the lobby and out onto the street. The lights really were gorgeous at night, I could understand darling's preoccupation. Well, where to start? I looked up and down the line of stores.

Terezi followed Seculus into the street. Her eyes scanned the crowd victims. Someone easy. Someone unsuspecting. "Do you need me to help you?" She asked. "Or do you think you will be alright on your own. Feeding...isn't exactly something I want you to see."

"Ah....no, I think I'll be alright. If I get lost, I can always make my way back here." I glanced back at the building, trying to engrave it on my mind. This would be a terrible city in which to lose track of my position. I looked back at her. "See you in the hopefully near future." I gave her a smile and headed for the bright storefronts, smoothing my hair and straightening my glasses.

"Very well." Terezi smiled back at him. "See you." Terezi took off in the opposite direction, towards the more crime filled areas of the large city. Yeah, that was probably the best place to start. She pulled her hood over her head, as she usually did when she didn't want to be recognized.

Goodness, there were a lot of businesses, and even more people flowing in and out of them. I was almost swept away by the crowd a few times before I figured it out and pinned myself against the wall, just outside of commuter traffic. I looked around, trying to figure out what to do next. To my left was the door to a brightly colored cafe sort of place. Ah, foods and services! There were many young men appearing to be near my own physical age bustling about inside in uniform, leaning on tables and chatting with their female customers, some even sitting at booths with them. So it wasn't strict, either. This seemed to be a good place to start. I approached the entrance cautiously, but just as I did so, a new customer tapped me on the shoulder, and I turned around to see a college-age girl. "Hey, handsome, can I get a table for three?" she asked. ....um, what? "Are you...talking to me?" I glanced over my shoulder to check. No, no one was there. "Of course I am, you must be new here. First day is always the weirdest, I've heard. Anyway, you're pretty cute, I bet the others would be willing to give you a try." ".....I, I'm sorry, but I think there may have been a mistake.....I don't...." Her friends arrived and surrounded me. I think I may have been hyperventilating. The commotion attracted yet more curious female passerby, and soon the cafe was crowded to the point of occupation restriction safety. Eventually, the girl and her comrades realized their mistake, apologized, and left me be, but not before giving me their numbers.
I stood there in absolute shock for a minute, staring at the pieces of paper in my hand, until an older man came out to see me. "Holy crap, kid, you must have /something/ they like, because we haven't gotten this much traffic since Jeremy quit. How would you feel about working for me?" Wait, he was actually offering me a job? I hadn't even done anything. "If...if you're sure, I suppose? I am in need of a job...." "Great. See me tomorrow at six and I'll get you started." He gave me a broad, amiable grin, slapped me on the back, and returned inside.
Well. That was....interesting.

Surely but slowly, the crowds thinned out. Soon she was the only one walking down the road. Yes, that is exactly how she liked it. Alone. No one to see.
She stopped at an alleyway. A drunk woman had fallen asleep, but had a needle in her hand. People would suspect overdose from her. This should be an easy meal. She quietly stepped forward.

Cale was taking a walk to clear his head. Otherwise he would probably end up punching a hole through their plaster apartment wall, and it wasn't as if the place wasn't in bad enough condition already. He'd left the second he could, as soon as the sun set, and made a beeline for the darker side of town. There, he could be alone.
Scratch that, he sensed another vampire. Then he saw her. Terezi? This could be his chance, to win her back, to find out if she was serious about that stupid /kid/. He approached her as she dropped the body. "Hey, sugar."

A small bite. That's all she needed. At least things wouldn't be so messy. Nothing too gorey or too bloody that she would have to panic over.
The woman had just died when she felt a vampire near. Great, more dealing with bullshit she didn't. Wait, sugar? Cale. She let go of the lifeless body. "Hi." She spoke plainly.

She'd acknowledged him without ripping his head off. Score one for him. "So, I heard you were trying to go steady with your pet human. That true?"

She wiped the leftover blood on her mouth onto her hand. "Yeah." She answered. "Why do you ask though?" The now crimson eyes went to Cale. Yeah, that should go away soon.

It didn't bother him. He was used to it, after all. What /did/ bother him was her response. So it was true? She'd just taken one step past attainable, and it pissed him off even more. "Why would you do that?" he growled. "He'll die, you won't, and then you'll just be depressed for a century or two. Why put yourself through that? You should have gotten with me when you had the chance, 'rezi."

Terezi exhaled. Yeah, she was kinda expecting this from Cale. "You think I don't know that?" She folded her arms. "You think I don't know that there is an almost certain chance that he'll die in my arms? That I will always be stuck here and he won't? That one day people will mistake me for his daughter, even if it even lasts that long? Because I am well aware of it. As for you!" Her voice got higher with each sentence until she was shouting. "You and I never had /one/ chance, so why should I give you another one?"

"I don't want you to get hurt! I'm trying to protect you, that's all I've ever done!" He was yelling too, but his voice sounded more despairing. "He'll die and he'll hurt you, I won't, I would never!"
2015-04-26 01:05:57 -

"Then explain why the fuck you told Spyders I was here!" She shouted. Obviously, the grudge was strong with this one. "All you've ever done is take his side since then! And it took him almost killing me just realize how bad he was! And for what?! For me to like you? All you've done is hurt me!"

He sputtered for a moment before regaining his train of thought. "I thought if you two fixed your bond, you might be happy, but I was wrong, and then I helped you get away from him!"

"How? How did you even think it would be a good idea." She pointed out. "If I fled to America, don't you think something would be wrong? No one flees from their master! And you know that!"

"Hell, I did too, but we had serious issues for sure. You two got along great for the longest time!"
