He didn't think too hard about the fact that he was squished against him, because holy shit whale. He kept himself tucked against him, grinning as he silently recorded. He took a picture or two as well after getting the general thing on video, though he started to feel a little cold from how deep they were. Then he actually made an effort to keep himself close to Eridan.

He adjusted his grip to accommodate Dave staying close. "Wanna see if we can get closer?" He already started swimming a bit closer, keeping slow so as not to scare them off or pressure them.

He nodded either way, helping him by kicking his feet a little, the parts of his body that were against Eridan feeling a little warmer than the rest, so he tried to ball up against him, as if he could just wrap around Dave.

Eridan wasn't sure how to keep him warm. He was warmer when he was underwater anyway, so maybe that will do. He swam much closer until they were less then ten meters away. He kept both arms around Dave, keeping him close.

Dave looked up at the whales, a bit overwhelmed by how bigger than him they were. A smile formed on his face briefly as he thought of Eridan trying to talk to whales and ending up as that one blue fish from finding Nemo. He snaps a picture, snuggling up to him.

Eridan was watching them with a barely disguised look of awe on his face. He felt so much smaller like this. It was awesome. He felt when Dave started to shiver though, being as close as they were. He hugged him close, looking at him. "Think you've got enough photos? We should head back."

Dave was about to nod, but he paused.

He could probably get away with a few more minutes of this. It's not like he was going to freeze his balls off that quickly, and he was enjoying the hug a bit more than he was supposed to.

He ends up holding up a finger, as if to tell him to wait, and snapped another picture, perfectly comfortable, despite being cold as fuck.

"You're shivering." He stated with a raised eyebrow. Not that he was complaining that much, he was enjoying this much more then he let on. He squeezed him a bit in the hug, keeping them both afloat.

One of the whales looked curious and swam closer, not too close but enough for a better photo.

He smiled slightly as he was squeezed, trusting he didn't see that.

His eyebrows raised high when he saw the whale swim closer, as it was already way too close. He takes a picture, and glances at Eridan, as if to ask if they should do something about this, if it was safe.

Eridan caught the look, already having pulled Dave as close as be could. "We just have to keep still. It's just curious. When it starts making weird growling noises I'll get us out of here faster then it can move." He flared his fins slightly, eyes fixated on the whale.

He nodded, relaxing again against Eridan. Maybe he shouldn't, but Dave trusted him fully, specially right now.

Putting the camera down for now, Dave watched as the whale came closer, going around them, taking it's sweet time, since it was rather large.

His fins wiggled as he felt Dave relax against him. He tightened his grip slightly, silently saying that he's not gonna leave him to some whale.

Eridan watched the whale come closer, and bared his fangs slightly when it buffeted them with bubbles and a strong current from a swipe with its tail trough the water. He wasn't exactly in a playing mood, not with how much he knew it had to hurt to get hit by that. The whale simply completely its circuit around them and floated nearby, looking at them.

He smiled slightly, although nervous to have such a huge thing swimming around him. It's only natural. Dave thinks only someone really fucking stupid would not be afraid of that.

He sighed in relief when it put some distance between them again, resting his arms over Eridan's, so that they wouldn't be in an awkward position.

Eridan relaxed his grip around Dave slightly, huffing a cloud of bubbles up. Dave was at the right position so that he could rest his chin lghtly enogh of his head as he watched the whales. "So, is this a good enough ending to this outing Dave?"

"Think your friends will be jealous?"

He laughed softly, tilting his head up every so slightly to look at him. The grin on his face was worth more than a full speech.

He started writing with his fingers: "Jealous as fuck."

Eridan grinned, fins wiggling. "Good. Let's head back now, yeah." He inclined his head slightly to the whale, before slowly starting to pull Dave back the way they came.

He didn't have any sort of excuses now, nodding, resting his arms back on Eridan's, his hands over the other's wrists.

The whales went back to whatever their business was, lazily swimming along the water. Must be a dream to be able to do that.

Eridan picked up speed once they were a good distance from the whales. He did the same as earlier, tucking Dave close and speeding off back to the reef. The water gradually got warmer again, but he could still feel Dave shivering and opted to just go back to the dinghy and Sabriel.

He kicked his feet as they swam, though nearly uselessly, as Eridan could swim faster than he ever could if he was only using his legs. He must have strong legs, now that he thinks about it, not that he has noticed, as they're covered by the swimming trunks, much like his own.

As they make their way back, Dave gradually starts shivering less, only mildly cold by the time they got to the boat.

Dave took off the mouth piece, breathing through his nose, and pushed up the goggles. "That was fucking dope."

Eridan had them back at the dinghy, and the at Sabriel in no time. He grinned at him, shaking his head a bit to get the water from his hair before running a hand though it. "Definitely. I want a copy of all the photos. It was lucky we saw the whales, I thought we might've missed them." He was making shooing motions at Dave, wanting him to go in and have a hot shower or something before he caught something.

"Well that's a way to show some love, I trust you not to get my guts spilled earlier than I was expecting and you shoo me." He grins, though going in all the same, understanding the requesting, and starting a hot shower for himself.

"I'll shoo you wherever I want. My boat, my rules." He was grinning though, and just pulled out the hose for the outdoor shower and hosing himself down. He didn't quite mind the cold water from this hose, plus Dave was using the hot shower.

He took around ten minutes in the shower, having lingered there for a few minutes longer than necessary just to feel the hot water on his skin.

Once he got out, he dried himself properly, though letting his hair dry naturally, and slid on a clean pair of swimming trunks.

Eridan was already in a new pair of swimming trunks, having dosed himself down and changed quickly. His hair was wavy and curling here and there, completely without gel. His glasses were back on his face and he smiled at Dave when he reappeared. "Lunch before we head off? It's roughly oneish, I haven't checked the time yet though so don't hold full faith in my assumption."

Dave didn't fail to smile back, his own hair slicked back due to the water. He really liked the way his hair curled, specially the violet lock. Funny, now that he thinks about it, he must dye it constantly, for him to never show the roots. Figures, from a fancy guy like him.

"Sounds like my kind of shtick, I still have sandwiches. What do you have." As he walked past him, and into the kitchenette, he blew on his hair with a grin.
