Eridan was half asleep by the time Dave rocked up, having bundled himself up in a hoodie and sweats and even socks because his feet were cold. He was lying on his stomach, but when Dave knocked he carefully moved the sleeping kitten to his hood before going to open the door.

Dave held up the takeout bags. "Hey, brought us food." He leaned up to get a peck. "Having fun with your cat?"

"You're a delight." He said, kissing him happily. "Oh, definitely." He turned sideways and lent down enough so that Dave could see the kitten curled up in his hood.

He couldn't help but 'awww' outloud, a gentle smile forming on his face. "What a cute little shit. Also I hope you and him like japanese, because that's what I got us. Sashimi too, for ya'll's fish needs." He steps in, and goes to put the food down on the table, glancing back at the kitten. So cute. So small.

"Her. Girl kitten. I'll eat sashimi, but I'm not too hungry right now." He smiled a little at him, kissing his temple as he followed him back to the table. The kitten mewled softly, poking her head out of the hoodie.

Dave grinned, going over to her, not replying to the pronoun correction, even though he noted it. "Hey there you small little ball of fur, what's up?" He offered her his hand for her to sniff, and then very gently petted the space between her ears with one finger.

The kitten meowed at him, it sounding tiny and adorable and Eridan's fins wiggled happily as he turned his head to look at her over his shoulder. "You're adorable."

Eridan gently picked her up out of the hoodie, holding her against his chest as he sat down on the couch and leant back with a sigh. "She's adorable. And all mine."

"She's ten weeks old." She was definitely more awake now, and was currently trying to chew on his fingers.

"I dunno if they can eat sushi. Or sashimi. Google it before you feed my cat anything that isn't tuna out of a can or proper kitten food." He stretched, yawning and lying on his back with the kitten against his chest.

Dave got his phone out, doing a quick Google search, and humming. "Says here that cats can eat it in moderation. Plus a while box of sashimi is like, 40 grams of fish, so just a bit wouldn't hurt."

He brought the food over to the couch, since he didn't want to move the cute cat, and offered her a slice of fresh salmon after eating one himself to make sure it was good.

Eridan watched as the kitten sniffed at the air and then tripped over her own feet to get onto Dave's lap and chew on the bit of salmon on his finger.

Eridan curled up a little against his side, coaxing the kitten back onto his lap as he ate a few slices of sashimi. He wasn't really hungry, but it did taste nice.

"It's a little too gold for my tastes." A lie, because he thought it rather suited Dave. "I'd offer to buy you some earrings or something dumb like that so that you're covered in our colours, but I don't think you're the kind of guy to want his ears all violet."
