"So don't go for troll shakespear or any of the others. Simple enough concept.I'm not gonna lie, most of our movies are a piece of trash, not even good in the ironic sense of it, but there's some good stuff, you just gotta look deep into it. If you haven't watched 'I am legend' yet, you are missing out on some prime human Will Smith.
He glances at his hair, and held back a wider smile. Or tried, at least. "I like the thing your hair is doing right now. Though the violet lock looks kinda messy now, but I'm flexible, my artistic vision goes far." Dave teased, crossing his arms on the table.

"Heard a it, watched it, appreciated it, moved on. Got any other movies?" He grinned, crossing his arms across his chest and looking at Dave with a raised eyebrow. "There is a few prime troll movies. They're romantic comedies though so I don't like them much. They've got just enough plot and action for me to bear them. Kar makes me watch them on occasion. When I owe him a favour or some crap like that, I dunno."
At Dave picking at his hair he huffed, both hands coming up to come through it and push it back off his face. "Shut up. I hate when it's like this." He huffed and turned to judge his reflection in the mirror, taming a few locks back into place.

"Mmmh, if you have a taste for ironically bad movies? Ghost busters. World war Z it's downright ridiculous, but I'm in it for the zombies banging their heads against glass." He snickered a little at the visual.
Dave shook his head a little, grinning. "It doesn't look bad, c'mon, leave the pretty reflection alone." He gestures vaguely as he speaks. "It could be worse, I mean, you could be that girl." He points at a girl that had most likely just straightened her hair, because wow that looked like a mess of curls right now. He sincerely felt kinda bad for her.

"Write me a list and I'll waste my finals watchin' ironically bad movies." Eridan laughed softly, letting his hands drop and finishing off his croissant. "Zombies are stupid. They've gone past stupid an' straight to full out idiocy. It would make movies slightly more entertainin' if the zombies retained some form of higher brain power an' weren't just bumblin' around until they scented live meat."
At Dave's words he rolled his eyes, shooting him a look. "To you it doesn't. Just because your hair isn't as spastically effected by the rain doesn't mean mine is. It looks stupid." He followed his gaze to the girl and winced, "okay yeah at least it's not like that."

"Not that much of a good plan, I don't want to be held accountable for what might come out of that." He said light heartedly, smiling at the though. It felt pretty good to be around someone that could just sit and chill for a while, and not just want to run back and forth, even though Eridan was clearly busy with finals. That probably made it feel all the better. "And those are called serial killers slash cannibals. You're looking to watch 'Hannibal' not a movie about zombies. Plus you might learn some things about cuisine." He muses.
"Yeah see? Now chill, it's all good, you still look better than half of the people in here." He shrugs. "How are your notes by the way, did they survive the rain?"
2015-06-18 23:10:29 -

"I couldn't care less right now. I never understood why they pile so much on students around finals an' exams an' everythin'. You'd think they'd try not to stress someone out." He scoffed and shifted in his seat, relaxed and comfortable. He didn't see a problem with staying here until the rain let up. It was nice and warm and the company was talkative and in no way judgmental. "I've watched Hannibal. Did you see the new episodes for season three?"
"My notes survived. The inside linin's waterproof after my bag took one too many dips in the nearest water source." He pulled a face, rolling his eyes and opening the bag to show. "See?"

"Nah, I haven't actually. It's on the list, I mean, who doesn't like to watch a show about cooking but with actual humans right? I have watched Orange is the new black, but that's about it. I might take a look at it though, once the finals are done for."
"That's... more than I can say for myself. My notes look like baby food right now. It's not very flattering or pleasant to the eye. But I have them in my computer, so I don't particularly care." He shrugs.

"It's a good show. Interestin', though not very good for cuisine thoughts an' tip grabbin'." He grinned, flashing his sharp teeth before tilting his head slightly. "I haven't watched that one. I spent all of last markin' period goin' through game of thrones. Got any other recommendations?"
"At least you have them backed up. I forget to do that more often than not an' then I lose everythin'." His fins twitched briefly, shoulders rolling slightly shifted in his seat to lean forward comfortably.

"Breaking bad is a bit overrated, but the boring parts are made up for with each time Jessie says 'bitch', that's a good start." He laughs, glancing over at the sharp teeth for a brief moment. "I've heard that Sense8 is pretty chill too, but I'm starting watching Daredevil now, that is the shit, I tell you." He mostly watched it because of how ironic it was.
"That's shitty, dude you better put a memo on your phone or something. Jade has these coloured elastics that she puts on her fingers, she says it helps her remember shit, but the only thing it makes me remember is a rainbow." He shrugs "Maybe it would work for you"

"I've been warned away from Breaking Bad. Been told that due to my temperament it'll just piss me off to insane amounts." Eridan rolled his eyes and made a gesture. "I don't know. I've got nothin' left to watch to distract me from studyin'." He shrugged again, reaching up to rub at his forehead briefly.
"Nah. Memos I usually ignore by habit or forget about and reminders do nothin'. I've got a pretty good memory though, so I usually remember whatever's been ruined." He tipped his empty mug towards himself, frowning slightly. "Can I trouble you to make me another? With an' accompanyin' brownie this time?"
2015-06-18 23:52:01 -

"Can't say that isn't true, I'm not too familiar with said temperament. Go with daredevil then, it will do the trick, I'm nearly 100% positive. If you're into blind guys kicking ass, that is."
"Sure, give me a minute." He smiled warmly, gathering what was left on his tray, before coming back so that he could make his order. He doesn't seem to be troubling anyone by not helping around, so that's always nice. He's pretty sure they'd tell him if they weren't being able to deal with people, though he wasn't being paid for this. He takes a little longer now that Eridan isn't drenching wet and probably near getting hypothermia, coming back three or four minutes later, the cost of it noted on his notepad so that he could pay before he left.

"I'll check it out when I get home. It sounds interestin'."
Eridan smiled as Dave took away the waste of his drink and food. He pulled out a handful of change from his bag, counting it out and hoping the brownie wouldn't cost more than a croissant.
He still felt cold, the sort of bone cold he'd felt a few times before when he spent too long in the ocean one winter and came back shivering hard enough to rattle his bones. Thankfully he was still by the heater, and his jacket was slowly drying, so maybe by the time he had to leave everything would be warm enough again. Eridan rubbed his hands together, trying to warm up the tips of his fingers without making it too obvious.

He looks up at the sea-dweller, putting the mug down, and pushing it towards him a little. "Here's your portable hand heater slash drink," he puts the brownie down next to it."and here's the brownie." He slumps back down on his chair, feeling a little bad that he's still cold, even after being near the heater. "Maybe you should call a cab and go home, you'll probably get sick if you spend too long in wet clothes. That's what Jade says anyway, I'd rather not doubt that, personally."
He had taken the time to make himself some hot chocolate as well, so he put that down too, before putting the tray away.

"Many thanks." He takes the drink almost immediately, wrapping his hands around it and sighing at the warmth. He looked at Dave with a slightly tilted head, "you look colder than me. Would you rather sit here? Right next to the heater?" He was half hoping Dave would say no, being the apparently courteous barista he was, but Eridan also knew that he was hogging the heat immensely, and should at least share with the one providing him with hot beverages.
The mention of taking a cab home made him wrinkle his nose, fins twitching briefly. "Cabbies don't like takin' seafolk much. Too many stories about a highblood goin' wild or ballistic because they got pushed too far. Makes people anxious to be stuck in a small space with one for any longer periods of time, y'know? I'll just get an acquaintance to give me a lift. He should still be in class now an' I know for a fact he drove here. Asshole's too lazy to walk."

"Colder than you?" He laughed at that, shaking his head."I've been here for two hours or so, so I'd say I'm pretty alright myself. Plus you look like you're going to start shaking at any given time. There's no rushing, take your time." He took a sip from his own beverage, humming softly at how sweet it was.
He did raise a brow at the new information though. That sure made him feel safe as hell. "Well as long as you don't go home in the rain after drying up for so long." He was now thinking about the temper he mentioned earlier. Not that he was remotely afraid of Eridan, honestly, he looked harmless and pretty friendly, but still.

"Yeah. Cold-blooded." He grinned and wiggled his fins for emphasis. He looked at his hand curled around the mug, and pulled it away to check his fingers. Still shaking slightly. He wrapped his hand back airund the mug with a sigh.
Eridan shrugged, looking around before returning his gaze to Dave. He laughed without humour, looking at him with a raised eyebrow. "Don't worry Dave. I'm not gonna spazz out an' try an' attack you. Your coffees are too nice for me to venture an immediate execution by the Empress." His tone was far too light for a subject too dark.

It was pretty hard to believe that he had ill intentions, in all honestly, but that didn't make his words any less creepy. "You just want me for the coffee, I knew it. They all do!" He said dramatically, snickering a little, in an attempt to make the chat feel a little lighter. "Wouldn't want to end up getting poked with a stick."
"You look fairly harmless to me. Well if you ignore the shark teeth and have in mind that you made jokes about rocks. Yeah that makes you look substantially less threatening."

"Coffee, brownies and chocolate croissants, and talks about sassy trilobites and bemused belemnites." He smiled, fins relaxed against his head. "That's all I'm here for. The company is just a bonus." A flash of sharp teeth and he picked up the brownie, inspecting it briefly and taking a bite. "One can not go wrong with chocolate."
"Oh yes. Totally harmless." An eyeroll and he grinned again, "I'm almost insulted Dave." A laugh, more natural now as he put the brownie down. "Nah I have no trouble with people. I generally avoid interaction at all costs so unless someone really irks me, I tend to just treat them like they either do not exist or that they are under me. Which if we go by technical troll status, they are."

"Of course, I shouldn't have been expecting anything else." Dave smirks a little. He let his shoulders relax further as he took a sip from his drink, hands warming up fairly quickly, making him sigh in content. "I don't make the cakes though, Jane is the one to talk to about that. I'm just the handsome coffee boy. Works on most customers, they can never resist the charm." The sarcasm isn't very evident in his tone, but it's fairly obvious that it is there.
"You know what I meant. Not that you can't do some serious damage to a lot of people, I'm saying you most likely don't want to do some to me, so that makes you harmless when it comes to me at least." He paused, hearing him out ."Oh so what category does that put me in then?"
2015-06-19 09:01:05 -
🌀
"Well then pass my thanks to Jane for providin' this local area with delicious food." He smiled, head tilting a bit as he looked at Dave. "You make it sound like your charm is an actual thing." He teased, finger tapping briefly against his mug.
"All humans are technically off spectrum. Your blood y'know. I don't know enough about you to be able to tell what category you'd be." He studied Dave, lower lip caught between his teeth. Eridan shook his head finally. "I'm not sure what you'd be. Probably not a high blood. You don't seem like you would be one." He blinked, shifting a bit and leaning back in his chair. "Do you know how to spar Dave?"

"I will, she gets all giddy when she comes back to make more and sees that most of the stuff is gone. We usually have leftover bread and cookies, because kids don't really come in here, but that's about it" He snorted, smiling a little. "I nearly feel offended. As if my barista charm wasn't evident enough."
"That wasn't exactly what I meant, but alright. I was referring to the part where you ignore people or treat them like they're bellow you." Dave rose a brow. "How to fight? I know my way around swords, yeah, why do you ask?"
2015-06-19 09:33:52 -
🌀
Eridan just rolled his eyes and took another bite from the brownie.
"Am I ignorin' you or treatin' you like you're below me?" Eridan raised an eyebrow, fins twitching. "An' there's a difference between knowin' how to fight an' how to spar. Sparrin' is controlled, an' it builds better strategy, stamina an' agility. Full on knowin' how to fight just gets you either into fights an' outta them. Sparrin' teaches you more." He shrugged, gesturing with one hand at him. "You look like you know your way around a weapon. You've got calluses on your fingers. The handle of the blade you'd use is old, probably hasn't been replaced in about two or three years?"
A few seconds of silence and he flushed, fins wiggling as his cheeks bloomed violet.
2015-06-19 09:44:59 -
●
"Exactly, hence why I'm asking." He didn't really question further though, interested in what he had to say. "I probably know how to spar better than I know how to fight, been doing it since I was a little tyke. Around... six. Yeah I should be around six when I started." He raised a brow when he talked about his hands, and put the mug down to look at them himself, laughing a little as he looks back up. "Well shit Mr. Fluttering-fins, you're probably not surprised to know, but you're right. Probably more though. I try to use bandages to keep form fucking up my hands to bad. It's a hand-and-a-half sword, so it's easier to handle with two hands. I assume you also know your way around blades for you to know that?"
2015-06-19 09:50:01 -
🌀
Eridan nodded as he talked, blush having faded by now. "Yeah I know my way around a few things. I prefer the Crosshair's myself, it's an old weapon passed down my line, but I've toyed with a few swords an' knives here an' there." He looked at his own hands, fingers curling and spreading alternatively. "I used to toy with knives and small blades, daggers an' stuff. Hand-an'-a-half... not really. I either spar close contact, or with staffs an' staves."

"Sounds interesting. I've never handled more than katanas, so you clearly have the advantage there. Never even touched a stave or a staff. Is it a family thing? Learning how to handle those?" He cracks his knuckles one by one, including his thumbs, and stretches his fingers. He can do pretty weird things with them, as they're rather flexible and long, but it bothers most of the people he knows. He can, for example, bend his thumb behind his index finger and let it hold still there.
