"It was fainter, more... Dull? I guess?" He frowned a bit as he tried to remember exactly what it had looked like. "I don't know what makes it glow, but it wasn't really doing much of it when the cave's underwater." He untied the rope from around his waist so he could walk around the outside of the cave, feeling along the stone wall. He stopped at a point almost diagonal from Dave. "Here's where we'll be getting out."

Dave played with the rope a little, looking at him as Eridan looked for the exit. "Did you really need to look to know that? Haven't you been here before?" The Strider smirks a little, leaning against the wall.

"I have, but I was underwater so I could see it already." He rolled his eyes at him, making a face. "Plus there's a second way out of this cave, an' that leads to a dead end, which I think you wouldn't be too favourable in going into. This exit's got an outcropping rock on the left side that I used as a footrest for when I was kicking the weird floaty thing that was in here away from myself."

"Huh. Well I suppose I can't argue with that." He ends up nodding, moving so that he was sitting down. "Do you go exploring by yourself often? I mean, his is pretty n' all, but isn't it boring?"

He turned to look at Dave, studying him for a bit. "Well, yeah. I don't have much else to do. It doesn't get boring really, unless I've been in the same place more than a few times. It gets a bit lonely sometimes but that's about it." He shrugged and turned to look back at the wall, fingers hovering over one of the glowing spots. "It's usually more fun to go exploring with someone else, but I do it on my own."

Dave wouldn't be able to do something like that. He starts feeling claustrophobic when he is alone. Not when he is locked in his room or something, then he knows there are people nearby, but in a situation like this he'd freak out, hence why he was having second thoughts when he got to the island. Isolation wasn't his deal.

"Well, at least you're not going to have to do that for while." He pointed out. He wasn't sure about how he'd feel about exploring places he doesn't even know that exist in the first place, but he could give it a shot. After all this was turning out to be pretty neat.

He managed a smile, rolling his eyes over his shoulder. "Yeah, now I've got you that I gotta kick more sharks in the nose for an' get bitten by snakes for. Gonna drag your ass through as many interesting looking bits of ocean as I can find." He joked, shaking his head a bit. It was hard the first few times he went out. Being alone made him twitch and sleep even less than he already did, needing the knowledge that someone else was close enough by to scream for if he had to. But that sentiment wasn't exactly shared by everyone he knew, who were all more than happy to shove him as far away as possible and only talk to them when they needed something. So he just learnt to deal with being alone.

"Yo, are you saying it ain't worth it just to be with me? I'm pretty good company. I might not be good at doing regular stuff, like you know, kicking sharks in the nose and shit, but I have my talents." Dave laughs, grinning at him. "And as long as you don't ditch me for nearly the whole trip again, I'd be pretty willing to do that." He teased.

"That was once! An' I told you that if you wanted me to come back up you just had to use the pulse thing. If I'd known you were bored I wouldn't have gone for a swim." He stuck his tongue out, rolling his eyes and huffing at him.

"I'll eventually learn how to be a good shark-nose kicker. Jeez, you have such little faith in me bro." He smirks a little wider.

"Well you looked giddy, why would I call you if you weren't snapping at something each five minutes that went by? I thought you deserved it." He shrugs. "But now that exams are over i'll probably press that button like it depends on my life. Or, you know, bring a book or some shit, since my cards-buddy will ditch me." He said dramatically.

"Still." He squinted and frowned, shrugging his shoulders eventually. "I didn't need to be in the water as long as I did. You could've called me up sooner."

"You're welcome to. I don't think I'll be going for any more en route dips though." He settled more comfortably on the sand bank, stretching a bit.

"Are you going to take pictures of here? I'd like to move on in a bit, we have a ways to go before we get back to the outside ocean, an' I'm not too sure how high this water's going to be getting as we go. I was only here at a high tide. Some of it may be different during the low." That didn't mean he wasn't going to get them both out of there safely, it just meant it might take a bit longer.

"Oh-Of course I am, kinda got distracted for a while." He nodded, trying to play it off, and got back up, turning on the camera and pushing his goggles on the top of his head. "It's still pretty early though, maybe what, seven or eight in the morning?" He said as he snapped the first picture

"You get distracted easily, huh." He said with a small grin, raising an eyebrow slightly.

"Yeah it's roughly eight. But I thought we could check out that sunken thing again, later today. An' I'm not sure how long we're going to spend in here. There's a few caves throughout here, and some tunnels an' gaps like we've just been through. There's a few deep pools with cool looking rocks an' bones an' stuff at the bottom that I thought you might like to see."

"Fuck off, we were talking and you distracted me." He rolled his eyes.

"Sure, if you have a flash light on you it's all good." He shrugs "And I'm down to see bones and rocks, sign me the fuck me. Usually I only add fossils to my collection and animals that were trapped in amber, but I could do with a few bones." He snapped a second one, looking in the other direction now.

"Exactly. You get distracted easily." He snickered and kicked his feet a bit, sending little ripples along the surface of the water.

"Do I look like I'm carrying a flashlight?" He spread his arms wide and raised an eyebrow at Dave. "I've got a flashlight on the boat. We'll just grab that before we go an' have a look."

"I'm not too sure what kind of bones they are. Probably just fish bones an' the odd bird that might've gotten trapped down here an' drowned or so."

He flipped him off with a bit of a smirk, though not sparing him a glance. "Or maybe you're just a big distraction." He defended himself, as he took the third and last picture.

"Well I didn't mean it in a 'right here and now' kind of way, but thanks for ending up answering it anyway."

He nods, putting the camera down and starting to head towards the exit. "You still said there'd be cool rocks there, so, good enough for me. "

He scoffed, "Please, you'd get distracted by one rock amongst thousands because it looks prettier than the rest an' you'd completely forget what you'd been talking about." He teased, snickering.

Eridan picked up the trail of the rope, tying it back around his waist a gain and crouching a bit to look at the exit. "It heads up this one, an' it gets almost instantly dark as soon as we get in there. It's about..." He tilted his head slightly, reaching in to touch the wall. "Your shoulder width apart, maybe a half more. Stays that almost all the way through but ends up widening out so that if we wanted to, we could walk side by side. Water's about... Between hip an' thigh height."

Eridan just turned to look at him with a raised eyebrow before continuing on, shaking his head and muttering, 'nutter'. He stayed quiet for a bit, navigating through the dark with only his violet lights guiding the way. He told Dave to duck several more times before the area widened out enough for them to walk side by side.
