She rolled her eyes, "Your loss love." She sighed, "write out your demands and I'll have them sent out with the reciept signed by the royal's ancestors." She preened again catching her ledger and sitting it on the table, "Rox's a big fan for deification a kitsune shrine wouldn't be a bad idea, unless you want high imports I'd say some tofu paddies for her meals. She's also the most skilled with Earth magic currently alive, well except the actual elemental, but she hardly counts." She muses, "She hates being undervalued due to her apparent age, likes having her tails stroked. Although careful if you try that the feeling can be intoxicating. She respects strength, as in enough to actually fight her and win. Wouldn't recommend trying, the girl despite how small she is can move mountains." She plops back on a chair, "She doesn't seem to age at all." Because the body she uses isn't hers. "Other than that I know she dislikes angels and hotblooded people. Something about them doing stupid things?" She sighs, "Afraid that's all the intelligence I have on her, she just showed up one day and was the most powerful Kitsune."

Feferi gave a nod as she listened before pushing herself to her feet, "Alright... Organise to have pieces for a decoration, one that the entire estate can join in on, I want an arena set up in the plains on my land, not the farmers." she explained, "I'll fight her, not because I expect to have a chance at winning, nor for a possibility in fact, I will fight her to show that while she may have the appearance of a child, I will still see her as an equal." she explained. "As for the food, I want you to get the best possible tofu you can get, with other things such as spring rolls, beef patties, anything that the populace wants, but nothing that would offend her." she explained before taking a deep breath, moving over to take Porrim's cheeks between her hands, smiling as she pressed a kiss to her nose, "Please, I'm trusting you with this because I know you can do it better than I can."

She sighed, "I was so keen on giving up responsibility too... lucky I have a soft spot for adorable stateswomen." She got up and stretched out before flying to the top of the manor, she let out a loud screech and began barking instructions to her harpies, they salute and scatter as Porrim waits for more to return with wood, she handed out orders to separate squads with ease. When she was done hours later she stepped back inside. "Rose has gone off the radar she'll likely come back but she and foxes never got along, she chased them out of the woods when she lived there." Probably because she knew who they worked for, the harpies she'd tolerate, but she'd grown sick of her mother's meddling before she sealed herself, she wanted nothing to do with it after.

She gave a sigh and a nod, "I know, I know... She needs time to calm down, and I don't understand the situation between the two of them enough to go out and calm her, so I suggest we let her relax and enjoy her time away from it all, as to be fair, everything is changing rather fast around here since Rose arrived in my home, which was just yesterday..." she grumbled before shaking her head and kissing the Harpy Queen's lips before smiling as she moved from the room, heading down the stairs and into the lounge... Where she proceeded to strip off her warm layers she had for mountain climbing, throwing them to the side before flopping onto the couch in but a singlet and her underwear, closing her eyes and letting sleep claim her, HOPING to get a good rest before something else came up.

Thankfully nothing came up as she slept Porrim directed her people to cart in supplies from their overdue payments in. She managed to motivate the humans to get to work on vendor stalls, temporay of course, easy to take apart, easy to put together. The shrine was a bit more of a hassle she'd need stone for that, some of her harpies had to fly off continent to cut large enough blocks and others gathered scrolls with the kirsune temple painted on it, "Right sliding doors wood and hrm... looks thin cloth?" GET TO WORK PEOPLE!" The harpies had the carving done in moments, even including two fox statues. The temple was given a stone walkway and decorations before the night had even fallen, the rest, the harpies couldn't do on their own.

The next morning, as nearly an entire day had passed since Feferi had last gotten back from her trip up into the mountains, Feferi woke with a face full of ground before pushing herself up, letting out a mumbling groan as she moved through her manor to the bedroom, where she took out a simple pair of tights, a vest and a belt to finish it off, tossing off her underwear and bra, she pulled them on before heaing outside, rubbing her eyes as she walked through the town, only to widen her eyes as she looked at it all, honestly shocked that the bird brained queen threw all of this together so quickly! Only to stop with her jaw dropping open at the sight of the temple...

The queen sat in front of it barking orders for the doors, "PUT YOUR BACK INTO IT THE HARDER WORK IS DONE, PUT THE DOORS ON THE TRACKS! WE NEED HARDWOOD INTERIORS AND SOFT MATS IN THE MIDDLE! NO COMPLAINING PEOPLE!" Everyone seemed to be working their hardest, the stalls were mostly up and the supplies stockpiled, Porrim herself looked at Feferi and waved, "Arena is coming in today, took the night to find a mountain big enough." The sky darkens as a stone block floats overhead, ropes supporting it, it must be at least two tons, it's dropped in a clearing as Porrim gets up cracking her neck, "EVERYONE INSIDE NOW!" Everyome scattered, she gave five minutes before the whirlwind started, wind shearing away stone until a grand colloseum was left atop grass land, it only took her ten minutes, arches for supports, no groaning either, Porrim flapped back to the temple, the remnants of stone naught but dust in the wind.

Feferi watched it all, and her only response by the end was a hand to her forehead, a groan coming from her lips as she watched it all, "... I'm going to need to pay them overtime for this... This is after all technically a public holiday..." she pointed out, patting the harpy on the head gently, "Well done, though, I knew you could do it." she said with a smile before kissing the bird-woman's cheek as she moved out onto the edge of the platform, taking a deep breath before yelling as loud as she possibly could, "PEOPLE OF MY KINGDOM! THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK! I KNOW IT WAS SUDDEN, AND I KNOW THAT MANY OF YOU ARE USUALLY BUSY! BUT REJOICE! OUR SMALL VILLAGE IS GROWING, AND IT'S GROWING FAST! WITH MANY MEMBERS OF MANY AREAS AROUND THE CONTINENT INTERESTED IN JOINING OUR KINGDOM, JOINING OUR ATTEMPT AT A FREE AND GENTLE LIFE!" With that, she stood there afterwards, letting the words sink in before another breath was taken, "TO EACH HUMAN WHO ASSISTED IN THE BUILDING, ONE HUNDRED GOLD PIECES, WITH ANOTHER FIFTY TO THOSE WITH A FAMILY TO SUPPORT TO THANK YOU FOR YOUR HARD WORK! FOR THE HARPIES, I ASK YOU TO SPEAK TO YOUR QUEEN OR MYSELF PERSONALLY, AND WE SHALL REWARD YOU FOR YOUR EFFORTS, AND ANYONE ELSE, IF YOU COME UNDER ANOTHER CATEGORY, I IMPLORE YOU TO SEEK ME OUT FOR A PERSONALIZED GIFT FOR YOUR UNASKED, BUT GREATLY APPRECIATED ASSISTANCE!" With that, she stepped back and smiled at the woman next to her, "How's that for a young lady of twenty five winters?"

She snorted, "Okay but you don't need to pay them at all," She giggled before pointing at her eyes, they glinted, "Hypnosis dear, they won't remember a thing, they're dazed and charmed right now. The harpies however will likely want clothes." Well that's an underhanded trick it got the job done sure, but at what cost? "This is how monsters get things done. I told them it was for the good of the settlement to soften them then hit them, one house at a time." She looked over at Feferi, "Unless you want to part with your treasury still." Well she did have the choice, it was entirely up to Feferi now.

"It's not right, Porrim we've taken their time, so we must compensate for it, the harpies shall be paid, so shall the humans, I have enough to ensure it." she explained, shaking her head before taking a deep breath in. "These people sold all they had to come live in my estate, they believed in me and in my rule." she began, "They're lifeline is their job, and their jobs take time, and through their jobs, they make money and can buy their family the clothing and food and other such things that they require... You've taken a day from them, Porrim, a day can be a long time for humans, because we only get a limited number of them." she explained before turning on her heel and heading into the house, not in the slightest bit pleased in how it was that Porrim had handled it...

Porrim sighed, rulers had to make hard choices this was one of them, she kept the hypnosis on as she followed Feferi, "Let them think the harpies did the work but give them the gold anyways as a sign of generosity and charity then. They think you're a benevolent ruler and appreciate my people for the work. No one loses anything other than the memory of their work." Porrim simply trotted behind Feferi, "We needed the temple done asap, foxes report in to Rox daily. If it's done this quickly that means you considered it important enough for you to do to honor her and her decision to visit. It was a dirty trick yes, but you left me in charge." She never liked giving details, it seemed a waste of breath when people stuck to their own beliefs like cement. "I did what I felt necessary to make you look good, now you have a chance to look better to your people. Call it a celebratory stipend for the coming festival."

Feferi spun around in a moment, her hand wrapping around Porrim's neck without pause, "I won't make the same mistake as my mother, taking advantage of those that came to me expecting for me to HELP them!" She hissed under her breath, her face changed from the soft, gentle, smiling, sexy girl, to someone who had seen a great many things she regretted. "The humans here are all members of my flock, so believe me when I say this, release them with their memories intact, I will give them the money, and they will see me as fair, not benevolent, but fair, because I don't want to be a ruler, I simply want to make them live in peace, with a number of allies... Do I make myself clear, Porrim? Or do you need to be castrated for me to prove my point about how strongly I feel about these people being paid what they deserve for their time...?"

She blinked, "Crystal, clear. Just remember who you're in front of when you choke an ally." The harpies had flocked down to Feferi ready to attack. "Stand down, we just had a difference in ideals in policy." She sighed lightly, "Problem is if you want this town to thrive you're going to have to deal with rulers who'll do anything they can for an advantage. Fair is good young baroness, but benevolent and kind wins hearts and minds when foreign powers try to bribe your courtiers." Her own look is serious as well. "It's best to keep someone around as cutthroat as they are, and not to threaten their genitalia." She pauses, "You've been recognized as a barony by monsters, the religious will come claiming crusades, and the power hungry will come seeking the populace. You're in a dangerous position." She then smiled, "Just food for thought honey!" With a glint the townspeople snap back to reality, with the omission of how they were coerced into work.

Feferi released the woman without another thought, sighing as she heard it, she knew it all already after all! "But there is a point of crossing the line... Humans have morals, we use them to keep our minds in check, to stop ourselves from going outright cruel... When we begin to change those morals, then things start to get bad." she explained, gesturing for the harpies to return to their job, while Feferi just turned and began to ascend the stairs, the treasury had to be accessed and money was to be given out after all, "Come with me..." she said, she didn't command, but she said, a sad look on her face as she went to her office once again, heading to a large steel door that stood off to the left, one with several different locks on it to keep it safe. "My mother is the current empress of the kingdom this place is currently under... To put it simply, we had a disagreement... When I was young, I remember my mother smiling when she held court, gifting those that had fallen on hard times with a small grant, no interest charged... She was fair, she was caring, and everything was running smoothly... Then, someone appeared, an admiral in her army ascended to her side..." she explained, gesturing out the window. "They call the city she ruled over once the black scar these days... I'm sure you know a bit about it yourself." she pointed out before finishing off the last lock. "As for the power hungry and the religious... I want contact with the succubus queen as soon as possible, we shall need guards to set up check points to control who comes in." she explained as she heaved at the door, grunting as she forced it to swing open, only to walk into a room filled with items of great value, from swords to shields to helms and armour. Feferi ignored it mostly, instead moving to a small box before pulling it out with a smirk, "Here we are! Five thousand gold coins in each box." she explained, carrying one out, before retrieving two other's before opening the tops and beginning to order them slowly, letting Porrim observe the beauty within the vault... She was a bird, wasn't she? So of course she was going to get distracted by a bit of shininess.

Porrim sadly wasn't as distracted as her underlings, "I didn't know apologies, Succubus queen is off continent, she's under the servitude of the current monster lord, the VIII I believe? She comes for the tournament but I can't send my harpies to the continent she resides in." She sighs leaning against the wall, "It's far to the North, the further North you go the more dangerous the monsters get, on the continent holding the monster lord's castle?" She shook her head, "Vampires and succubi are the least of your concerns, expect dragons, twisted chimera, and the Sinner's Prison. It's where the first battles of the war were fought. Angel feathers litter the grounds. Towns destroyed for having good relations with monsters. The air is a killzone if you aren't high class enough. It's the closest thing the planet has to a hell." She stands, "Next tournament is in 8 years. You're going to have to manage without her." Porrim knew the game there was too much at stake for her not to.

"Shit!" she swore, pausing half way through moving a stack before pushing herself to stand, turning and looking at the window before a sigh dragged its way out of her throat, only for her eyes to light up as she realized something very, very nice about her head of staff. "... Never mind that, I think I just thought of a way to get those guards I want, but it'll have to wait for the moment, for now, I need to know when it will be that Roxanne arrives... I'll need to time this all perfectly if I want it to run smoothly, the only thing that I really need to worry about is Roxanne and Rose clashing..." she explained, "See if you can find Rose while you're at it, I'll just be up here organising the many different pay bags for my people." she explained, seating herself down, with her rod by her side, the vault was open after all, so it was dangerous if she didn't keep it near her, lest someone try and steal it.

Porrim shook her head, "Can't. Had scouts looking for her for the past day, she's off my radar, which means she's probably so far North my scouts would die." She pauses, "Or down in the religious meccas in the South to raise hell, either way it'd endanger my scouts." Of course Rose would slink off where she wouldn't be followed and since she knew that Rox was South, that left the North. Volcanic, acrid filled with death and despair for humans. Even for most monsters. "She didn't leave much of a trail. Otherwise I'd be after her ina heartbeat, girl's not right for the world, too idealistic about coexistence without realizing how much conflict it'd cause."

She gave a nod, "I suggest you don't mention how much you know... Rose doesn't trust you with all the details after all." she pointed out with a sigh as she put another hundred coins worth of gold into a bag, sealing it up before setting it to the side, a long and slow process as it turns out, that would take her most of the next day. "And you say that, but I reckon if I called her she'd end up coming to see what I asked for, I mean I did appoint her as my chief of staff." she pointed out, curious to see the reaction, and she waited for it before continuing, "But she just wants to correct her mistakes from the past, she was the reason that it all went to shit, so she wants to repair any damage."
2015-03-03 09:28:06 -
🌀
She blinks, "YOU PUT SOME NO NAME LAMIA IN CHARGE OVER A QUEEN!?" She fumes for a moment before sighing and pausing,"What do you mean she's the reason it went to shit?" Her eyes narrowed as she stepped towards Feferi talons clacking on the floor. You said too much there Feferi, Porrim's supposed to be the blabbermouth not you! "What exactly did she do that started shit?" Her voice was low, the mysterious knowledgeable lamia spilled something to Feferi. "And what repairs could someone like her make?" She was upon Feferi by now, "Well little baroness?" The little birdy wants to know.

Feferi panicked a little, before a smirk came to her lips as she thought up something, knowing how to get out of this, "Repairs...? Who said she was going to make repairs, you said yourself that Rose has gone north, where your scouts can't go, so, it was simple, I was going to send Rose up to the north to get into contact with the succubus queen, I need guards, and I need them before the raiding crusaders start to learn of our location, and the humans here are craftsmen, not fighters." she explained, "As for the rest... I suggest you forget it, Porrim... It's better that you don't know." she explained, a sad look crossing her eyes, "Just know that Rose has a lot on her mind, and you shouldn't give her a hard time... As for her being chief of staff, you said you never really liked being queen if I remember right." she pointed out, poking Porrim in the boob. "Now drop this subject lest I decide to take the whip to you ass, miss."

She hmphed, "Fine, but sooner or later, I want answers. I will be coming for you to collect." She trotted off with that back to barking orders and getting things ready, there's a big day coming, a storm of monsters, kitsune, harpies, and a lamia. No one came to disturb Feferi Porrim made sure of that. The clatter of hammers and wood pounding. Soon it would be steel against iron, the crusades would start eventually, and a daughter of a corrupted empress? The pillage would be ripe, Rose was still nowhere to be seen, things were becoming more complicated with each passing minute.

But a few days later, Feferi was grunting as she sorted through the vault once again, this time, looking for some armour that suited her that would allow her to fit the girl that she would face when the festival reached mid way. She had been stressing out, a great deal more than normal that was, Rose wasn't here, the kitsunes were going to arrive soon and she still lacked an army at her back, Porrim was off in a huff, despite her support of Feferi, and Feferi now had to remember her lessons in sword fighting! She was a mess to the point that last night, she broke down on her bed crying for Rose to come back, because the funny thing was that Rose was the key to it all, even after stating that she had retired from that...
She shook her head at the memory, pulling a small box out before grinning at what was inside, "Excellent! My ancestors didn't throw it away!" she exclaimed, picking up the small crate before carrying it out and into the study, kicking the vault closed behind her, setting the box down on the table before pulling out several pieces of armour and a rapier in its sheath, setting them all on the desk before moving to sit on it, a small scroll in front of her that was written in who knows WHAT sort of language!

The festivities were underway and just as described a goldenhaired kitsune had appeared, looking to be about 9. The townsfolk looked in confusion this child was competing in a fight? In her right hand she held a folding fan, a ceremonial garb of the far east adorned her figure. She was snacking on tofu, being attended by both a seven tailed kitsune and an eight tailed kitsune, both of whom looked far older than her. Sandals clacked on stone as she entered the arena finishing the last of her tofu, her attendants waiting at the entryway for combatants. Roxanne herself, had taken up drawing in the sand intended to drain the blood, not taking it seriously at all, nine golden tails sprouting from her ass.

Feferi was leaping over the small man-made cliff at this time, hitting the ground with a clank and a roll and on her way with a hand holding her rapier by her side as she bolted to the arena, coming to a stop at the entrance for her, taking a deep breath, before placing the helmet on her head, her hair tied into a long pony tail and stashed within her armour, which bore a bright red symbol of the Peixes logo, a symbol of the pisces stars in a fuschian tone, while the rest of the armour was left white, a symbol of how pure the family used to be, and now only Feferi was left... The girl strode into the area, the visor still up as she stepped into the sand, smiling. Her armour was made to be light, but looked heavy and sluggish, but the secret to it was of its origins being not of the ground beneath them, but the sky above.
Drawing her rapier, Feferi walked towards the small girl before spearing the ground in front of her, being careful to be out of the way of the drawings that she was creating, "Queen Roxanne of the foxes, otherwise known as a goddess really from my understanding of the eastern culture. I am Baroness Feferi Peixes of this estate, and currently owner of your daughter of sorts, Rosanne Lalonde." she introduced, before bowing to the girl without showing any sign of care for the girl's age, knowing all too well that the number of tails indicated a kitsune's power.

Roxanne's attendants had of course been doing the only professional thing possible, making bets on howvlong Feferi would last. The current odds were stacked against her as Tamamo stood up yawning lightly. "Do you expect fancy armor to impress me? Or irritate me with its origins?" She cocked her head sighing and shaking it, "It won't help you in the slightest."
She stood tall at last the ground shuddered then quaked as her body suddenly seemed more tense. "Well girl, make peace with your gods, it's never a good idea to pick a fight with me." She let loose another yawn bored already, "But by all means make your move, see what I mean if only to deepen your despair." She simply stood no guard up in the slightest, what was her angle?
