He picked Madison up by the collar, and his feet dangled above the ground. He made a gargling sound, and Zane dropped him, putting his hands to his face. After he'd finished gasping for breath, he stared at Zane. "..they're all gone?" "...yes...not together but...and Lance....he /forgot/ about her...." They would have to gather again eventually. And their options of transport were limited. Lance had forgotten about her? ...he was probably just exaggerating. But it gave Madison an idea, and as he rubbed his throat, pushing himself up, the wheels in his head began to spin.

After she fled the beach, she quickly found a place to hide. By the time the sun came up, she found herself under a car to hide from. Just in case, she managed to fuck up the engine to keep it from starting. Once that was accomplished, all she could real do is sleep and wait until nightfall.
