I somehow managed to get the job, and without much of a resume, I seriously don't know how that's possible. Lily must have some kind of magical word to put it in for me and get me hired that quickly. My first night on the job was in a few days. Until then, I was living off my last paycheck, which meant I was basically starving. It helped that I hadn't had to buy any food while I was a puppet, if that qualified as a positive, but I would have to reserve. Zane was home for once, trying to level up his character on WoW, while I sketched skyscrapers in the closet under the light of a desk lamp. It was oddly relaxing, and distracted me from my growling stomach.

For the first time in years, Invidia finally got a well deserved vacation from work. New York was probably one of her places to go. Always bright. Always alive. When she ran into Haybien, it was even better. He always understood her.Though, he wanted her to meet someone, after she checked in with her boss with who he was. Well, she already knew him, but wanted to know the details since she left. Zane was after all, someone of interest. She knocked on his apartment door, Haybien behind her.

Her makeupless lips smiled when she had to look up at Zane to get eye contact . Finally, a guy she had to look up to. She looked to Haybien when she saw Zane's displeasure. "Oh Habby, what did you do now?" She spoke in a soft voice.
