Cale was chatting with Lance, mostly about when it might be safe for the other two, when he froze and sat bolt upright. Something wasn't right. He couldn't feel..../anything/ from Zane. He wasn't dead, for sure, but it was like he'd just stopped feeling. That almost never happened, and never to this extent. "Lance."

Of course Lance always did what Lance did best, surround himself with friends while Ivory was gone. He missed her, in all honesty, but she was safe with Zane. Well...he thought so, until he felt something. Something apart of him missing. It was her. She was missing. No longer there. No longer apart of him. "...Yes?"

Lance immediately got to his feet, searching for his cellphone. He found it and quickly called her number.
No answer.
He called again.
Rang twice. Voice mail. She rejected his call.

He did the same thing for Zane's. Nothing at all. He sent him about twenty texts, then called again. They couldn't have both.....could they? No, after all this, he couldn't /stand/ to lose him again, not again. They could fix this. They'd be fine.

This was probably the best idea Zane ever had. The second he mentioned the address, she already knew who he was referring to. James. He could finally pay for hurting her. It wasn't her fault. It was his. Ivory finally shut off her phone after endless calls from Lance. Fuck him. He could wait. They were doing more important things at the moment. Once they got to a more suburban neighborhood, Ivory made Zane park the car in a secluded area and walk the rest of the way. The last thing they needed was cops on them. She checked around to see if anyone was looking, and slipped inside an open window in the basement.

He didn't even bother looking at his phone the eight hundred times it went off. He didn't even seem to notice. He followed her inside, eyes lighting the way and casting deep shadows.

Slowly, Ivory wandered the house, stopping once they saw that James was in his home alone. He was typing away at a computer, headphones in, music blaring. Just looking him made her sick.

He didn't even pause to observe the young man. He simply walked forwards and lifted him from behind by the throat.

The man froze in fear, unknowing who this man was before him. Ivory let out a giggle, and moved forward. James's fear deepened, as if he knew he wasn't going to make it out of here alive.

"Aparegve'are." He looked around, finally, and noticed a top hat. He reached over, picked it up, and crushed it.

"REpwqfns." She responded. James tried to scream out in fear, but with the help of Ivory's vampire speed, she moved over and covered his mouth with his hand. "...Nes mall."

She stopped once she found a lamp. It looked like it had faulty wiring, but no one in the home was productive enough to throw it out. She plugged it in, and turned it on.

He dumped his small collection on top of it, paper and cloth slipping into the frame of the lampshade, then turned and picked up a couch cushion to top it off with.

Soon enough, it started a fire, she knocked the flaming contents to the ground. "Ps." She spoke before moving hastily to the window.

He hopped outside and backed away until it was safe and she was with him. Then he watched the house burn. His expression never changed.

After what the police ruled an 'accidental death' of James, Zane and Ivory immediately drove back to New York. They didn't need that place. Zane's father could never hurt them. As much as it saddened her to pull away from Zane, she needed to do something. For Ren. She promised to visit them. Just them and her. Besides, it seemed like Zane wanted to do something was well. She knocked on their apartment door, brushing her hair behind her.

"Ivo--!" The door flew open to reveal Ren with a grin on their face. They couldn't believe she was back this /early/, and....what.....what was wrong with her? She had this.../darkness/. Her eyes. They glowed. And they weren't hers. Her hair trailed to her feet, could it have grown that much in only a few days? Their expression turned to one of nerves, and they shrank back. "I-Ivory....?"

She stepped forward, silent. Arms out, as if she only wanted a hug.

....she was different....but.......she was Ivory. They were just happy to see her. Even though they knew better, much better, they hugged her tightly.
