"Now, if I told you, what fun would that be?"

"Mmmm, true. I can't wait to dive in then."

"And then you have to return it to the library. Or you keep it too long and have to pay the overdue fee."

"I'll keep it for so long that I'll have to buy the book."

"No, the library assault team will break into your house and steal it back."

"It'll be worth it. I got a very good book, after all."

"That is, if I even /am/ the book we've been talking about this entire time. Honestly, this mess of metaphors has been very vaaague."

"Of course you are, I don't see anyone else standing with me. The little devil inside your head does not count, either."

Dammit. "Speaking of which, why are we still standing in my kitchen? I have chairs."

"Mmmm, as much as I love to stay, I should probably head home. I got a little sugar mommy waiting for a private show." He winked and retrieved his shirt. "Though next time, maybe you might get your own private show." He chuckled, put his shirt on, and headed out the door.

They flushed slightly and considered the circumstances. Yes? No? Maybe so? ...they did have the excuse of lightheadedness due to blood loss. Why not.
Ren stalked after him, planting themselves in front of him before grabbing his newly adorned, bloodstained collar and kissing him. Without tongue. When they pulled back after a second, regarding him with those calculating yet embarrassed purplish blue eyes, they said "You know how I feel about that. Try dinner and a movie." Then they released his shirt, returned to the apartment with a wave, not looking back, and closed the door.
...then they slid down it and sat against the wood, burying their red face in their hands. They couldn't believe they'd just done that.

He had gotten a few feet when Ren exited the apartment and pressed their lips to theirs. Naturally, he returned the kiss. Why not? It's not like he's a 'pure innocent babu who can only fall in love once in his life'.
Once they pulled away, he looked into their eyes as well. Before he could respond, they were back inside.
He stood there for a moment before a smile spread across his lips. Oh boy, Lippy is going to be so pissed that he scored before she even got the chance to. He continued on his way home, a slight bounce in his step.

The plane touched down at the John F. Kennedy Airport, just like fifty or more others had done that same day. But this one was different. This plane carried one Elysia Paxaro, and she stepped onto the asphalt of New York pissed and ready for a fight. Getting her weapons through security had been tricky, but that was what lipstick cases and high-heeled shoes were for. The highest priority would be to find her son. Then she could give Daniel what was coming to him.
But first, she had to sit by the luggage carousel for half an hour. /Where the fuck was her suitcase?!/

"Oh come on, a bird isn't that bad to deal with." Terezi spoke as the three of them walked down the just-barley-after-sunset streets. Winter was ending so that meant longer days, oh boy. Though it did mean warmer weather and storms. Yes, storms. The only way Terezi could go out during the day. As for the three of them? It was Seculus, Tassek, and her heading to Tassek's apartment to retrieve a few things for him. Seculus was mostly brought along because Terezi insisted it.
They were almost there, and luckily Tassek didn't want to rip Seculus's arms off yet.

Neither of them was entirely sure on that account. For the most part Tassek had been trying to ignore Seculus, but it was growing more and more difficult as the taller boy insisted on involving himself in the conversation. What did he think he was doing, it wasn't like being invited on the excursion gave him a /right to talk to them or anything/. "You don't have one. Normally they're only a slight pain in the neck. He's kind of temperamental, though, and the neighbors get annoyed if he starts screeching when he gets hungry. Plus he tries to eat the newspaper in the cage. I swear, he's trying to commit suicide out of spite."
I chuckled. From what I recalled of the bird, he was an angry little creature. But fitting company for someone who spent all day inside trying not to fall asleep. Like a living alarm clock. "And yet you keep him anyway."

Terezi couldn't help but giggle. "Maybe he's trying to win your attention over since you spend so much time with me." She smiled. "Obviously you care for the small creature because, as Seculus has said, you keep him around."

"Maybe. He's definitely gotten used to me being in the same room as him at all hours of the day. I guess he can be kind of cute sometimes...." Seculus this, Seculus that, blah blah blah. Okay, so this complaint was kind of out of context, but it came up every time she said his name. It was just so annoying to hear it coming from her mouth. Any other word was a masterpiece. 'Seculus' was a finger painting of an obnoxiously British angel.

"I'm sure I'd find him adorable as well if any animal didn't fear my presence and want to be as many rooms, floors, and countries away from me as possible." She placed her hands into her hoodie pockets. Though, eventually there would be something else she'd have to wear in order to cover up her vampire scars.

"Is /that/ where all the pigeons went?" He laughed a little. We arrived and I gazed up at the building. It had been too long since I'd seen this place. I felt vaguely melancholic. He went into the lobby and waved to the landlady, who smiled and waved back before ushering all three of us upstairs. She was probably ecstatic that Mr. Paxaro had yet another new friend. Meanwhile, he was still trying to pretend I didn't exist.

"Possibly. At least they're not flying into my window now. I actually enjoy the view of the of the city, not dead birds." She followed Tassek and Seculus up the steps and to the apartment. Once they caught close enough, loud music could be heard from his neighbors apartment. Along with well...other noises.
Looks like Damien was having fun.

I gave the devil's door a death glare. Somehow he could feel it through the barrier, I'm sure. Tassek ignored it and unlocked his apartment. There were books scattered across the floor, as he'd left it, but a few torn, as if there'd been a fight. Honestly, Spyders, if you're going to get beaten up, at least have the common courtesy to do it in the comfort of your own home. Warlock was screeching up a storm. Inevitable, though, what with two vampires duking it out in front of the poor thing. He went over to the cage and tried to quiet the bird, but that obviously didn't work very well. Then it saw Terezi and went into an absolute frenzy.

Once she stepped inside, the bird screeched as if she was setting it on fire. Immediately she jerked her head back and shut one eye from the noise. "Do you need me to step outside?" She shouted over the noise to Tassek.

"Uh, it's fine, just let me, God, SHUT UP!!" He tried to quiet the bird by throwing a blanket over its cage, but that only served to incite it further. Covering my ears, I went over to the cage. This was worse than the screaming television incident. As soon as I approached it, Warlock went completely silent. Tassek stared at me. "...did you just /kill my bird?!/" "What? No, don't be ridiculous, I didn't even touch it." To clarify my side, there was a soft chirp from underneath the blanket.
