His phone went off in his pocket and he jumped a little, pulling it out. He frowned. The number wasn't one in his contacts. "Sorry. Just a sec, I need to see who this is."

He stood there regarding the number for a moment with suspicion before answering. "Hello?"

"Tassek? Tassek, is that you, baby?"

Terezi stopped an stared at Tassek for a moment when the words 'mom' came out of his mouth. He never really mentioned her before. Why was she calling him now, then?

The worry and desperation in his voice confirmed it. They /were/ talking about her father. She stared at him for a moment once he hung up. "So um...do I wanna know why your mom knows my father by name?" She gave a nervous laugh as her voice was laced with nervousness.

Seculus disappeared into the kitchen as quickly as he could while Tassek stood awkwardly in the doorway. Yeah, he'd been here before, even slept here, but now he was actually going to stay for a while. It felt...weird, to say the least.

Terezi, on the other hand, did not mind this at all. She could keep a close eye on him, and if her father came by he wouldn't get too far. At least not without a fight. She stepped inside and gently tugged Tassek in before closing the door.
