The mewling noise was a little unfamiliar to Gamzee, and his ears flicked a little, trying to parse out if it was good or not even as it sent a shiver down his spine. He supposed so since he was being pulled closer, instead of pushed back. So he continued on, adding some little dryish licks to more open mouthed kisses to potentially make it more interesting. Spreading more kisses, he gets a small idea. Very very gently, he uses his teeth to scratch lightly, hardly with any pressure at all.
As Kanaya wandered, Karkat sat on the bench he had been occupying, lazily looking at the plants and getting some ideas himself for pleasant designs on cakes that he or Gamzee might try with frosting. The heat was getting to him a little, and he slouched before curling up a little. He hadn't even realized he was starting to doze off until it was too late and he was resting against the back of the bench, head on his forearm.
"It would be interesting to visit the West, though I'm sure we will have to be careful... with all those slavers or whatever glubbing shit up over there. And I think the Jabberwocky could probably stay here, if the people are informed and that critter knows these people are okay. He could even be a threat to outside gawkers. At least in name and reputation."

He was starting to feel a little embarrassed; Tavros had always prided himself in being in control in these types of situations, in having a clear reign over himself, but now, Gamzee was drawing out his carnal instincts. He pulled back some from him, despite adoring the feeling of his teeth against his skin, and pressed their lips together, purring. Tavros slowly closed his eyes, trailing his tongue against Gamzee's lips in a request for him to open his mouth.
When she returned, sketchpad in arm, she noticed that Karkat had fallen asleep. With a gentle smile, she took hold of his shoulder, jostling him slightly, "Karkat? Karkat, dear, wake up. Let's get back to the hotel, yes?"
The waitress soon returned with their drinks, saying that it would be another five minutes or so until their food came out. Vriska tapped her chin again, thinking, "What does the Jabberwocky even eat?"

At first he wasn't all together sure if he had fucked up or not, but Tavros kissing him again seemed like a positive reactions to what he'd been doing. So almost automatically when Tavros requested his mouth opened and his eyes fluttered shut, tilting his head in to give his matesprit a better angle to work at. He found himself purring deeply again, but keeping it quieter to be less disturbing.
Upon waking up Karkat flailed a little in front of himself, off balance but soon catching himself. He rubbed his eyes and looked around and up at her. "What? But I thought you wanted to check out the fashions around here?" Surely as soon as he got into the breezy air again he'd wake up more.
"Other animals, I think. Not trolls in any case, no matter if that's popular opinion." Eridan sipped his coffee, tasting the initial bitterness with slightly tart and slightly sweet notes. It was interesting, he was pretty sure he liked it. "Caramel is pretty good."

Encouraging his purrs with louder ones of his own, Tavros's tongue slipped into his mouth, caressing his lover's wet muscle with his own. It was invigorating to be that close to Gamzee, to, as he wished, feel him and hear him and taste him. It was not as all encompassing as he wanted, but, in due time, Tavros assumed they would cross the ultimate threshold and become one flesh. It would definitely be more romantic than any past endeavors. He pulled back after a moment, licking his lips briefly as a breathy giggle escaped him, "You never have to ask to do that, 'Zee."
She shook her head, patting her sketchbook with a fanged grin, "I believe I have all the fashion I can handle today," Kanaya would learn how to incorporate her sketches into something durable for a coastal lifestyle later, but she mostly wanted to return and see what miniature versions she could flesh out at the hotel.
Vriska hummed in acknowledgement, bringing her porcelain mug to her lips, pleasantly surprised to find the drink so refreshing and tart. "So is this what the coffee is all about here. Rialans know how to do it best, it seems. Here, let's switch," She offered her coffee for him to try, and the waitress soon came back with two ornamented plates with thick bowls atop them, filled with their piping hot food.
"Careful, now," She advised, placing silverware wrapped in cloth napkins down, "The bowl will burn your fingertips right off!"

Gamzee kind of looked like he might melt, but didn't look like he minded that fate. Tavros made him feel so warm and loved. Slightly dazed from affection, he nuzzled his matesprit's cheek and purred loudly. "Good to know," he murmured, "might all up and do that again, then." Moving in front of Tavros again, Gamzee kissed his lips eagerly before moving on to the jaw below and along the bone, moving down the copper's neck as he got toward his ear. Kisses were mostly normal, interspersed with more passionate ones lower onto his shoulders as the purple moved a hand up to tangle gently in the hairs at the base of Tavros's head.
"Alright then," Karkat got to his feet, not realizing how tired he'd been until he got so comfortably warm. Absently as he followed along with Kanaya he supposed that his stay in the tunnel had at least given him the ability to sleep on any surface, no matter how uncomfortable. He tried not to drag his feet on their way back to the hotel after acquiring some nectar.
Eridan switched with Vriska, tasting a sip of her drink which he found he also liked. "I do like the tartness," he nodded. Tea and coffee were both good, Eridan decided. Especially with the subtle variety of the Rialan blends, he thought he could definitely get used to drinking more coffee in the future.
When the bowls were set down, Eridan made sure to avoid touching the dish, thanking the waitress politely.

Purring sweetly at the lovely attention, Tavros curled up as closely as he could to Gamzee and nuzzled at his hair and what part of his face he could manage. He flit a hand somewhat teasingly against his hip, sneaking underneath Gamzee's shirt to place his warm palm against his skin, making no moves yet to touch his grub scars. He pulled back a little to rub his nose against Gamzee's, licking playfully at his lips as he chirped lovingly, "I could kiss you forever and never get tired of it."
Kanaya reviewed her sketches on the way back to the hotel, chattering excitedly about her newfound inspiration. She asked a slew of questions in quick succession, from what Karkat thought about a complementary color scheme to a monochrome mini-section of her clothing line to what patterns would look best with what. Once back at their hotel, the jadeblood spotted her moirail sitting at the desk in the room, papers strewn around. He grew frustrated several times, evidenced by the angered growl on his tongue or the flicker of red and blue by his eyes. Kanaya placed her things down, heading over to him worriedly, "Sollux, dear?"
Vriska thanked her as well, having been inspecting Eridan's drink before she sipped it. It was definitely better than she thought it would have been, and any thoughts she had about coffee being gross outside of her own drink were swiftly put down. "Rial is doing everything to make me fall in love with it," She laughed, switching with him again but making sure to avoid touching the bowls, "Their coffee is to die for."

The warm hand against his skin and the surprise lick had Gamzee purring and smiling at his adorable matesprit. "That's good, I wanna kiss you forever," he replied, kissing him lightly and nuzzling their noses in an eskimo kiss. "So Professor Tavros, you all up and interested in teachin' me something before dinner? Or do I get night lessons?" The purple smiled, almost giggling a little as he looped his arms low around Tavros's hips and linked his fingers loosely behind his lower back.
Karkat answered her the best he could among her chatter, a little overwhelmed. When they got back to the hotel, he wondered what all the papers were at first, perhaps he was going over all the notes they had made? He was too tired still to actively do more than glance to try and figure it out, knowing Kanaya probably had things covered in the way of calming him down. So he sat gingerly on one of the mattresses, not quite willing to slump down into it even if he felt like crashing.
"I am somewhat surprised at how good I find coffee to be. But the flavoring of the different blends so far is quite subtle. I wonder if there are different roasts like there are different fermentation times of tea leaves. Maybe the beans even differ! It's a whole new world of hot beverage for us to discover, Vris, maybe we'll find a secret island, you think?" he winked playfully.

"I could ease you into it, sure," Tavros agreed with a devilish grin, sitting up on his knees as he looped an arm around Gamzee's neck. With a softer smile, he kissed his lips, the hand that was against his hip straying to where Gamzee's were behind him. His hand took hold of one of his, gently plucking it from the embrace behind him to clamp lightly against the back of his thigh, just below his buttocks. He explained quietly, "I am the type of person that, enjoys quite a bit of physical contact simultaneously when we become intimate like this. So it is okay for you to, uh, scale your hands anywhere you please. Like this," He moved Gamzee's hand upwards slowly, until a finger or two rested against him, but then he stopped, head tilted, "Is this okay?"
The papers were architectural in nature, but Sollux was growing frustrated with a particular project that he had pretty much given up on it. Kanaya wrapped an arm around his shoulder, offering him little words of encouragement and wondering if she should tell him what Karkat had found during their time out, but ultimately deciding that it would be best if the cherryblood did.
"Absolutely," She nodded, "There are probably all types of creamers and sorts of sugars we could utilize that are completely unknown to us. I cannot wait to explore it," At the wink, Vriska rolled her eyes, but it was in good humor, "Let's hope that secret island is just the other side of our luscious blueblooded one."

That was a very reasonable question in Gamzee's estimation. He actually had to think about it, quieting the other thoughts in his head about where exactly his hand was and what it was doing and how close it was to certain things. Without showing outwards signs of this, what he internally considered strange, nervousness, Gamzee nodded, slowly bringing his second hand to the back of Tavros's other thigh, running his hand up in the same way but going further up so his palm rested on Tavros's hip bone, fingers trailing slightly further upwards. "Yea, it's fine...more than fine," he was a little betrayed by his voice and face, though, smiling a little nervously. So Gamzee made sure to give Tavros a kiss as a form of reassurance that it really was okay.
The cherry blood had actually almost completely forgotten about the flowers and nectar. He soon remembered when the vial in his pocket poked him when he tried lying down, and so took it out and set it on the bedside table for later before remembering he could take his coat off. So he stood again, keeping near silent even in his movements to hang his jacket and slip off his shoes by the door.
"That would be convenient." Eridan grinned, settling back in his seat with his returned drink to sip it again. "So after this, do you want to check out the taverns, then go for a swim? We can be all salty sea fresh for dinner. Or I suppose we could shower be-oar-hand."

Returning the kiss, Tavros leaned into his touch, unsure just how much further they should go. It seemed like he had better keep things going slowly, and he offered, "We can go slower, if you want," He hadn't any qualms with teaching Gamzee how to touch him at a more gradual pace, at least they were advancing at all. "I do not mind."
It took a few minutes for Sollux to completely calm down before Kanaya withdrew from him and ruffled his hair playfully as he batted her away. The yellowblood did seem to be in better mood, though, and moved to his and Kanaya's shared bed as the jade instinctively straightened his papers. Sollux placed her sketchbook gently on the bed and sat, stretching his arms above him, "Did you find much inspiration, Kan? Or anything interesting to begin with?"
She nodded curtly, leaning over to brush stray strands of hair from his face, "I'd love a dip, to be honest," Vriska admitted, "The cold is unpleasant, but I do enjoy the water. I never knew how much I would miss it until we were gone." She sipped her coffee somewhat delicately, sinking in her seat, "But, yes. Checking out the taverns is an excellent idea."

It was a little frustrating for Gamzee, feeling so stupidly new at something. "No need to go slow on my account, Tavbro, I trust you and all that, and I wanna learn." He decided he had to be less timid about things, like with the kissing earlier. So he moved his higher hand toward Tavros's waist, stopping at the lowest of his grubscars and not touching it directly until his partner gave the go-ahead. The other he just moved slowly along the brownblood's upper thigh and backside, using the pad of a thumb to rub some circles along his hip.
Padding back to bed, Karkat actually slipped under the covers. He wanted to be that nice sort of warm again and maybe take a nap, hugging one of the pillows under his head and somewhat sleepily watching the other two. "Found some of those flowers you like," he said, pointing at the nectar bottle. "There's a greenhouse that grows and sells them and their nectar. Kanaya got some good sketches of the rest of the flowers, too."
Eridan smiled, purring quietly when his hair was brushed aside. Setting his cup down, he picked up a utensil to try the snack, making sure it wasn't too hot before nibbling a bite. "Hmm! I've never had crab like this before, it's good, I think."

"It makes no difference to me if you learn at a slower pace," Tavros murmured, hoping that he was conveying that he really did not mind if Gamzee wished to slow down. How could he derive pleasure from his touch if he knew it was just because he was forcing himself through it? While that may not have been the case at all, he wanted to eliminate the possibility altogether, "Anyway..." Leaning into his touch, he dipped down to kiss his cheek, then his lips gently as one hand pushed Gamzee's up to touch the edge of a grubscar, a soft purr on his tongue.
"Surely you jest," Still, even as Sollux looked right at the bottle of nectar that was both familiar to him and so often out of reach, he could scarcely believe it. It had to have been at least a sweep since he had last enjoyed any part of the golden lily, and his dual-colored eyes flickered up to Karkat as Kanaya joined him in bed, "You got this for me?"
"Different, but in a good way," Vriska agreed, "This..what is it, again? Lemon-clam sauce? Whatever it is, it's delicious and Rialans should receive a thousand gifts from the heavens for it." When was the last time she had indulged in clam or crab? Crab, at the very least, roughly a month ago, clam much longer than that, and the desire to swim reared up in her suddenly. "Let's swim right after this."

Gently he started rubbing along the lowest of Tavros's grubscars. Since he wasn't sure what he was doing, he followed how his had been treated, running the pads of his fingers along it slowly. Gamzee returned the kiss and purr, tilting his head into it in enjoyment. It was a little hard to multitask three things at once, but he was managing alright, moving his other hand like Tavros had and subconsciously massaging the muscles of his thigh.
The cherry tried not to look at all flustered. "Well, Kanaya technically did, since she has money, but I did plan on using it to bake something or other. Since it's got that complicated flavor I'll have to try different combinations and concentrations to get it right and that might take a while," his brows furrowed as he sort of ranted and tried to ignore the heat in his ears.
Eridan grinned at that, a light bubbly sort of noise accompanying it. "Don't have to persuade me!" He took another bite of his crab, savoring the taste. "You landdwellers can prepare seafood pretty well! I'll have to try more of these sorts of creations. It's so light, the lemon is really good with it."

The brownblood repositioned his hands, moving higher underneath Gamzee's shirt and the other rubbing his thumb against his hipbone. His lips parted from his matesprit's, quirked slightly into a smile before he dipped down, tracing feathery kisses against his jawline and ear before nipping playfully at his neck. His lips pressed a bit more aggressively to his jugular, feeling the pulse beneath his mouth in a manner that was somewhat primal, but he strayed away from the blood beneath his skin and kissed his throat. Tavros was fond of hickeys, -he assumed that he liked marking what was his- and he began to form one just above Gamzee's collarbone so that it could be easily concealed. His teeth nibbled and pulled tenderly at his skin but nothing too hard or would warrant the breaking of blood vessels, not yet. He would not do anything drastic until Gamzee gave him the signal to do so.
Kanaya grinned knowingly at Karkat while Sollux, surprisingly, let a smile gently inch through onto his expression, "Well, shit. Thanks. I didn't think either of you gave me a second thought while you were out," It was sweet that it wasn't just Kanaya that cared for him but Karkat, too, and it eased his heart to know that he really did belong to some kind of familial unit. "I don't think Kan ever told you why they're my favorite."
"You see," He began, his chin resting on his open palm, "I did not always live in Starnette, I lived closer to the mountain range separating the East and the West with my lusus. The climate and weather were perfect for golden lilies, and they sprang up pretty much everywhere. As you can imagine, my psionics were not always so well-controlled, and I often broken things or hurt someone, even myself or my lusus, because I could not keep myself in control. But he would always brew my tea with those golden lilies or put them in water for me to make me feel better after an accident. Of course," He gave a slight shrug, "My lusus perished when the Knights came around and started burning shit to the ground. It was a messy time, but golden lilies have never ceased to give me that warm nostalgia I always wanted."
No matter how good raw seafood was, there was something about the heat and filling nature of cooked food that made Vriska grin. She felt like she was back in the Screechlands again, eating some type of stew or home-cooked meal for herself and watching the waves crash upon the beach. "I'm sure they have more of these sorts of things in taverns and whatnot."

A small noise escaped the purpleblood as he pressed into the attentions to his neck. That felt /amazing/, he had no idea that it would feel that good; no wonder Tavros liked it when he did that. He could feel himself flushing from how much he liked the feelings, and he tried to make his partner feel that good. So he kept rubbing circles over Tavros's hip along the bones, remembering he'd mentioned that. The other hand he moved up in order to brush two of the grubscars at once. There wasn't much he could do for kissing, so chose to voice his sentiments a little breathlessly, "that feels really good, Tav."
Cuddling in his bed, Karkat listened with some interest to Sollux's tale, just barely resisting glaring at Kanaya in response to her look. He wondering why he was being told such a personal story. It wasn't that he minded, he actually felt pretty honored or trusted; he couldn't decide which. It made the cherryblood more determined to make something nice with that nectar, but he and Gamzee would have to find a place before he could try. Something delicate, since he got it in tea, perhaps, something without much flavor to begin with... oh...oh it was perfect! Karkat was struck with a magnificent idea, he'd just have to play around with concentrations until he got it right. Maybe he could even make some sort of sauce for it out of the same stuff... Suddenly he was quite awake and had a great idea for somewhere to bake, if the person didn't mind. "It's too bad that happened, but nice you have something to remember them by. We thought asking Tavros about keeping the flowers, since he gardened before and might know better how to take care of them." Karkat sat up in bed, looking at the time and setting his feet on the floor.
"Well I suppose we will just have to explore those mor-ay later! But we wouldn't want to ruin oar dinner, would we?" he teased a little, "I think we're going to be spoiled with good food again. It's good we can swim and perhaps spar again, I wouldn't want to put on too much blubber." The seadweller was quiet a moment, musing on the possibilities. "Maybe we'll even be dining outside, with that large open upstairs she's got above the shop. It looked like a nice little cafe area up there."

He could feel himself get more and more excited, and Tavros was mildly worried. Would Gamzee be put off if Tavros revealed that he was sexually aroused? It was difficult not to be, but he suspected his matesprit may be so overwhelmed with affection and new sensations that he didn't even realize it. Still, there were plenty of questions regarding that part of their relationship, and Tavros wondered if their anatomy was the same. He was under the impression that it was, but he couldn't take any sudden surprises. Deciding that it would be best to stop for now, he pulled back some, smiling sheepishly as he asked, "Did you want to stop now? Otherwise..." Tavros was not too keen on spelling out the natural course of their afternoon should they continue, but he was more than happy to continue on if that was what Gamzee wished.
Sollux, truthfully, felt some type of obligation to Karkat about his story - he went through the trouble of making sure it was purchased and making plans to cook with it, it was only natural that he tell him the reasoning behind his love for golden lilies. And it was not as if Karkat was not trustworthy, and he would not find Sollux somehow cute or mildly pitiable because of his memories and tale, not in the way he was sure the others would do.
Kanaya snickered, "So open now, Mister Captor. Going soft, I see."
He hissed sharply at her, a yellow tint occupying his cheeks in mild embarrassment, "It's only logical that I give the reasons behind it all."
"I'd spar with my sword, but I do not think they'd appreciate a weapon out on the beach, no matter how public it may be." Vriska didn't want to be out of practice, though, and she figured that she could go over her forms and attacks without the sword with her. It was strange, always carrying it with her when they traveled but very rarely using her weapon, if at all. She took another bite of her food thoughtfully, musing, "I wonder what Rial is like during the summertime."

Honestly his mind was a bit foggy from how pleasant everything felt, and he didn't much mind either way what they did. But he thought Tavros knew best, so smiled and rested their foreheads together after kissing the copperblood's lips tenderly. "That's probably wise, I guess I'd like to be all up and leisurely about anymore, and not feel like we gotta rush off any time after." He moved his arms around Tavros, hugging him close to nuzzle him. "Did I do okay? Wasn't to motherfuckin' clumsy and shit was I?"
"I think," Karkat huffed a bit, crossing his arms, "Kanaya is making it a mission of sorts to embarrass us. So," he half smiled, one corner of his mouth turning up in amusement, "I think I will escape before she can do any more damage." He did hop up, picking up the bottle of nectar and getting his shoes on again. "I have a plan for this stuff now, anyways...you could escape too, if you want to do some taste tests for me. I don't know how it's best, after all."
"Perhaps there is a set sparring area. We still have to find out how they protect this place, maybe when we meet with the city governance we can ask." Eridan figured they could even just ask as potential future residents, and not just part of the Alice mission. "And since it is so nice now in winter, I bet it's quite gorgeous, if not a little extra warm. Though then the sea would be perfect for cooling off. Or a good time to sail and be relieved by the sea breezes... It must be very colorful, perhaps there are even more flowers blooming."

Carala had chosen a more tan residence in the heart of the city, a quiet neighborhood with other elder trolls and nicely arranged gardens of rocks and flowers. On the inside the house was sort of curved around instead of a typical square pattern, more like a nautilus shell. The kitchen was in the middle, to spread the heat out into the other areas of the place. Carala had set up a nice table in the back yard area under a decorative canopy, lit with some of those glowing mushrooms like had been scattered in the greenhouse. There weren't chairs, instead the table was long and low to the ground so they could sit on the blanketed ground.
Gamzee and Karkat were hard at work in the kitchen, humming away happily to the phonograph the grandmother troll had brought out. Karkat was perfecting the flower flavored cake he was making, and Gamzee was in the midst of chocolate and berries, finally making that treat he'd been thinking about for so long. Already Carala had prepared their dinner, and it was simmering away in the oven, a pleasant lemony smell filling the air. It was some sort of fish that was popular in the area, she'd said, and the wood burning stove it was being made in put in extra flavor just for that specialty of the area.

Kanaya, quite interested in the idea of familial life and what raising a family was like, spoke to Carala avidly about it. She, unfortunately, was not allowed to adopt children and was heavily discouraged from actually having any of her own, but Kanaya was young and still interested. She brought up the offer of creating some form of clothing for Carala as thanks for her graciousness - it would be wonderful to get back into the swing of things after the disaster with her shop.
Tavros, on the other hand, and as much as he wanted to be nosy within the kitchen, was currently dancing with Vriska. She claimed that he had two left feet and would teach him the proper way to dance, but Tavros reiterated that Alternian dancing and Wonderlandian dancing were two different things. Around and around they went to the beat of the music, Vriska naturally leading him while she rolled her eyes at Tavros's emphasis of becoming dizzy.
Sollux watched with a lightened expression - he seemed in a much better mood when surrounded by all his friends, and the smell of the golden lilies was doing even more to soothe his usually caustic personality. It was nice to be surrounded by people that were genuine, unlike the normally stuck up and arrogant bastards occupying Starnette.

Happy for the company and conversation, Carala spoke vividly with Kanaya about children and her own experiences, spilling stories about her own and the ones in town over a glass of wine. She'd offered Kanaya blood, having gotten some special for the occasion. She spoke of often having the school's reading circles on the patio above her business, and of running an after school program to look after any little ones who's guardians were busy with work. She found it ridiculous that the jades weren't allowed to adopt and care for children, as the old mythos were quite opposing.
Eridan watched the dancing with amusement, much refreshed from the swim earlier. He thought it might do to take a turn from Vriska, since perhaps his matesprit was tired, and he could teach Tavros some other steps. There was even a sort of line dance he knew that they could all three do at once.
Karkat had had Sollux tasting small pieces of the light cake he was making with different ratios of the nectar, and had finally found one that worked best. He wasn't sure if he wanted to add anything, so decided to leave the cake itself plain and perhaps decorate slices individually. Finishing that, he was free to keep working on a extra secret dish for Kanaya. He and Gamzee had both been thinking about using blood for something for her, and so felt they had perfected it after some deliberation. They'd gotten really very creative with their time, and had created individual desserts for after dinner in celebratory spirit of being free. Neither of them really realized it, but they were getting quite pale, chatting and being so close.
Storing their surprises in the icebox once they were all done with them, Gamzee checked on dinner and decided it was finished based on his grandmother's specifications. The crock was taken out of the oven, and Gamzee carried it with mitts out to the table where Karkat set a thick pad to keep the dish from burning the table.

Kanaya smiled sadly, sipping her blood contemplatively, "Unfortunately, all of the laws against jadebloods are founded upon stereotype. Even though all rainbowdrinkers are jadebloods, not all jadebloods are rainbowdrinkers." And she felt sorry for her fellow hue-mates. There had to have been jadebloods in a similar predicament as herself, but she imagined that things were slightly more laidback in the safer areas on the west side of Wonderland. "Rainbowdrinkers are, apparently, much too dangerous to properly raise children..."
Seeing that the food was being set on the table, Vriska ceased the dancing with Tavros, -who was finally at a state of equilibrium and not so dizzy he was going to fall- and trotted out with him. Sollux followed behind, his tastebuds still reeling from all the different ratios of cake, and everyone soon found their appropriate place to sit.

Carala assured her that it was a ridiculous notion, and that she thought she'd be a marvelous lusus. As they walked to the table she invited her to look after the children with her in her free time, knowing the kids would adore meeting her. At the table her grandson was about to serve for her, but she shooed him away so she could do it, wanting him to relax with the rest of them.
So with an aromatic white wine served, she opened up the dish to reveal a red colored fish, with lots of vegetables and rice. "This is red snapper. They're pretty abundant around here but not much of anywhere else." Eridan was positively glowing with happiness; it was rare where he lived, but he found it delicious. Carala served them each rice, with a filet on top and all sorts of vegetables. It was in a sort of tomato-pepper sauce. Not spicy beyond a vague heat but very flavorful and with other vegetables and legumes mixed in. After serving herself last she sat and bid them all tuck in.

Kanaya never ate much fish to begin with, and neither did Sollux, but it was more due to their location and not really for any type of taste issue. Neither did Tavros, who had lived in a heavily forested area, but he inspected the fish curiously. The hue of it was beautiful and reminded Tavros of Karkat's blood, and he wondered, humorously, if the 'snapper' part of their name had anything to do with the temperament.
There were choruses of 'thank you's and 'this looks delicious' and all dug into their food with hungry gusto. Sollux, deciding to strike up conversation with Eridan, -who he thought he knew the least but found fairly interesting- asked curiously, "You've been positively illuminated since the moment we got here, Eridan," He acknowledged, "Thinking about moving here for good with Vriska?"

Since there were a lot of them and plenty of room, Carala started up conversation with Tavros. "So Tavros, before you came to Wonderland what did you do? And did you like it or were there other hobbies you liked?" She smiled gently, wanting to know more about this sweet little brownblood.
Eridan had been in the middle of a bite, and was surprised to be talked to by the yellow. He finished his bite, muttering about how delicious it was before replying. "Yes, We've been thinking about it. The people are just so much nicer here, and it's near the ocean!" he smiled, sipping his wine. It was fruity with floral notes, and he decided that he adored it.

"Huh? Oh, uh," Tavros was still a little flustered to be around her or talked to directly, and he smiled a bit bashfully, "I was a gardener for the royals back in Alternia. It was peaceful work, so I did, uh, enjoy it," It was wonderful not to have to interact with other people if he chose not to. Tavros liked being around other, wholesome people, but they were few and far between in his section of Alternia, "I mostly indulged in nature's beauty. I liked to, go on walks and hikes, and commune with the native animals. Arranging flowers was a nice pastime, too."
He gave a little nod, looking thoughtful, "Kanaya seems to like it here, as well. I am unsure as to what she wants to do after what happened to her shop," He admitted with a partial frown, "But if she decides that this place is where she is happiest, I haven't a choice but to follow along. It was one thing when she was in Undlegire and I in Starnette, but if she moves here, four hours may be a bit much."
