Daniel followed in behind Rati. He glanced at Zane as he passed the other male as they moved forward. His attention went to Cale. What could of possibly hurt him that bad? There were no other vampires as strong in the area as they were, correct? He remained quiet, though was internally pondering the situation.

"He would not tell me what happened. Something about a warehouse," he muttered, glaring at the floor. "Cale was beaten by a warehouse. Very helpful." She poked him in the side with her foot and he groaned and rolled over. "Wake up, Cale, and spill the beans already."

He finally spoke. "Madam Rati, may I?" He gestured to Cale's sleeping body with his cane. Waking Cale up from his naps, now that was the highlight of his day. He wouldn't do it with out his master's permission, however.

Rati raised an eyebrow at Cale's sleeping form, then nodded to Daniel. He'd been loyal enough to deserve at least that. Zane looked like he was going to punch something, most likely Daniel. "Don't touch him," he said, teeth gritted.

Daniel glared at Zane. "I do not believe that is not your decision, so I suggest you hold your tongue." He snapped before he walked over to Cale's sleeping body. He then smacked the cane across the back of Cale's knee. Rita wouldn't want him messed up /too/ badly."Réveiller!" He commanded in French.

Cale yelled and jolted awake, lashing out with his other foot in Daniel's general direction. Rati grabbed it and twisted, flipping him off the couch and onto the floor. Zane moved forward and made a grab for Daniel's cane, expression full of fury.

Zane stumbled as his target disappeared, but caught himself on the couch. Rati clucked her tongue disapprovingly. "You haven't even been practicing, have you boy? Muscle memory or not, you have to keep these things fresh." Cale's gaze flicked from her to Daniel in confusion before he realized what was going on and gave Daniel a glare. "Get some patience, will ya gramps?" No, he didn't give a fuck that this was Terezi's father. Why should he? He obviously hadn't been much of one.

A deep growl emitted from Daniel's throat, but he went completely silent afterwords. No, it would night be wise to fight here. Plus, it would make Rati angry. He did not want her angry.

Rati gave Daniel a look and turned her attention back to Cale. "So. You were beaten up in a warehouse. Care to explain?" "Why should I tell you?" "Do you /really/ have to ask?" "Ugh, fine. A pissed-off, possessed human decided to take his anger issues out on me." "...did you say /possessed/? Really, where do you come up with these things?"

Daniel raised an eyebrow. Possessed? Human? He wasn't as foolish as Madam Rati was, but even to him this seemed like a wild made up story. His attention was now fully towards their conversation.

He went silent for a moment. Spreading yet more word of Tassek's existence would definitely piss Terezi off, not something he really wanted to do. But he couldn't just refuse to answer, he wasn't capable of that. Maybe he could direct their attention towards someone else. What was the name of that angel guy again? "Ssssseculus. Yeah."

"Spyders?" He repeated. His servant boy? Daniel knew he was a vampire from the start, but the boy seemed incapable of killing anyone, much less turning them. Daniel only took him in because he saw potential in the male. It was oft been his partner or something. "I'll have to check up on my old servant then."

She would have to eliminate him. "And you yourself still haven't turned anyone?" She gave Zane a meaningful look and he glanced away, mouth a grim line. "....no. Don't have to, don't feel like it," Cale said, drawing her attention back away from Zane. "Eventually you will. It's inevitable. Feel free to come crawling to me for help when you do. They can be rebellious." Of course she was talking about Cale himself. Runaway little scamp.
