".....no, /no/, I am not letting you go, never...." He was crying a little, staining her hair. He hated when she was like this. So happy about making herself suffer. So uncaring.

She started crying too. "I don't wanna be touched right nowwww."

"....I have to restrain you, I cannot let you hurt yourself, please stay still, please.....stop....." She was crying now. He had to resist every temptation to let her go, but the only way he knew how to make her feel better was to hold her, and she might go get more if he let go...

"Leave me /alone/." She slurred, still crying, trying to push herself away.

He went completely still and silent as tears trailed down into her hair, an immovable rock, hating himself and whatever had done this to her.

He didn't say anything. Lance. Lance, please come home.

"Zane. Just let me gooo. I don't want to do anything right nowww."

"....no," he sniffled. ".....I need to.......too......" Another reason he hated it when she was drunk. He needed comfort from /her/. She wasn't here.

She started crying harder. "Stoop it! /Please/"

Cale came upstairs too, confused as to why Zane was so upset. He was hurting her. He was hurting her, and she just wanted him to /stop/, but he couldn't..... He was mumbling "I'm sorry, I'm sorry," over and over. Cale gently tried to tug him away from her, but his grip on her was too tight. "....Zane. You have to let her sober up on her own."

"Let goooo Zane."

"I'll hide the alcohol, we can lock her door, just leave her to wind down for a while. ".....I can't....I'm sorry....I'm so sorry....." Cale winced. He'd never wanted to do this. Ever. "...Zane. Let go of her now." His voice held a little more reluctant authority in it, and Zane immediately released her, pulling himself to his feet with an empty, tear-streaked face as she fell off his lap. "Come on...let's make sure this doesn't get worse." He left the room with a mechanical walk, eyes fixed on his feet. He couldn't help her. He couldn't even find out what was wrong. Cale did a quick search for alcohol, then closed the door and made sure it was locked, even blocking it with a chair from another room.

Ivory awoke in her room. Hungover. Hard. Cale didn't clean out her entire stash, and she still had some left. Good. She groaned and rolled over.

Zane had been sitting huddled outside her room, where he'd remained after Cale had left him alone. Cale had ordered him not to hit himself, so he hadn't. But the second he heard Ivory stirring in the slightest he moved the chair and opened the door to her room, already holding Tylenol and a glass of water.

"Hmmm?" She heard the door open and sat her head up. "Mmmmm...." Head went back onto the pillow.

He went and knelt next to her bed, holding out the pills and glass. Not touching her.

She took both and down the glass. "Thank you..." She managed to groan out before she set the now empty glass back down.

"....you are welcome....." he said quietly, then went silent. He shouldn't ask her yet. It must be something horrible......

She nearly blindly reached and grabbed his hand for squeezing it. "Sorry if I hit you last night. I was hella drunk."

He raised his head a little in surprise. "Oh....you did not....hurt me." He squeezed back hesitantly.
