"Ivory, Leave it. It's not worth it." Lance spoke up.

She turned to Lance. "No, I won't leave it." She turned to Terezi. "If no one is going to say it, then I will."

Terezi took a step back. The fuck was her problem.

"What, you don't like handling the truth? The fact that soon you won't be able to do /anything./ on your own anymore? I've seen you in Lance's memories. I know what you once were."

Terezi, just leave it. She kept silent. Not worth it. Not worth it.

I frowned and considered stepping between them. However, I had no idea what exactly the argument was about, and it was none of my business.

When have I ever been known to leave well enough alone, though?

"She is perfectly self-sufficient, and I asked her to keep it to herself. If you're going to shift the nonexistent blame to anyone, let it be me." Okay, so I hadn't actually done any such thing, but Terezi was already under enough pressure.

"IVORY WILLIAMS I SAID STOP IT, NOW THAT IS AN ORDER." His friendly demeanor faded. Though it worked, she completely shut up and back away. Whether it was from their bond or not, it was unsure.

Even I shrank back a little from that. He could be quite intimidating when he wanted to be.

He'd almost completely lost track of the conversation. Why was Ivory so mad? "S-so, uh....what should we do with him?" he mumbled. He'd have to stay somewhere, right? Unless he planned on just disappearing into his head again. He didn't think he'd like that now that he'd met him.

While this was going on, Lance pulled Ivory to the back room. Yeah, they were both pretty pissed at each other.

...yes, that was a problem, wasn't it. "I would hate to impose on anyone. So long as I don't end up on some underground slave chain, anything that is convenient is perfectly fine by me." I decided I'd sent my mind to work solving this. It was better than the alternative, which was fully comprehending my circumstances and completely breaking down. I still had my arms wrapped around myself in some sort of vain attempt at self-comfort.

How did he know everyone? Oh, right, through him. Disturbing. "He's right about that. Unless he wants to sleep on my roof."

At the words 'roof' and 'sleep' I perked up. That actually sounded like an ideal living situation, though he was probably just kidding. Disappointing.

Tassek was right about his current situation. Terezi though for a moment.

"Well I'm assuming Ivory and Lance live together, and as kind Lance is, I'm pretty convinced Ivory would rip out his throat on first impulse." She paused. "I guess he could stay with me. I am the one able to financially support him until...whenever, I guess."

Was it bad that this was what I had been hoping for all along? Though I was beginning to feel like a burden. I would have to find some sort of paying occupation in the very near future or risk earning a sense of loathing from the others. What could a former angel do for a living, anyway? I believe you have to have a degree to be a minister. I didn't have any particular skills aside from ranting at people. "Thank you /so/ much. I'll do my best to be able to support myself as quickly as possible."

"Are you sure?" He glanced at Seculus. Something about the idea of a man living with Terezi didn't sit quite right with him. "We could always send him to one of those homeless shelters." Seculus gave him an abandoned puppy look and he sighed. Yeah, so the guy was in a pinch. That didn't mean it was his responsibility, right? ....no. He had to help him out. He'd been in his head all these years, or so he said. He had no idea how to function in the real world.

"....though he would be perfectly safe with me, that's probably the best bet. Perhaps you can get to know me another time." I gave him a nervous smile. Please, conflict with him would be horrible. I didn't want that.
