"Seculus? Gay? /I/ could have told you that."

"He acted very feminine! How was I supposed to know?!"

He laughed again. "Really. I've never thought of that. But haven't you only talked to him a few times?"
2015-09-10 06:32:44 -
●
"Well some people who are gay make it very evident when you talk to them only a few times by how they act."

He went silent. Then he tapped his finger on his book and stood up. "We should get going before the library closes."
2015-09-10 06:36:17 -
●
"Yes, please. Lets hope no one recognizes me there too."
2015-09-10 06:36:52 -

"Well, you aren't wearing chains, so either that will render you unrecognizable or negate the issue."
2015-09-10 06:37:37 -
●
"That's the problem. I /love/ my chains!"
2015-09-10 06:38:18 -

"And I'm sure they love you. Unfortunately, the library does not. So let's go while we still have the opportunity for them to actually let us in." He put his arm in hers and headed off towards the library.

●
"You do have a point." She smiled when they locked arms, how gentlemen like, and headed towards the library with him.

When they arrived, he resisted the urge to dart off to the encyclopedia section to check for an updated version. It had only been a month or so, expecting a fully published print of the entire set was ridiculous. "Anything you need to look for?"

She paused for a second, then remembered something. "Oh yeah, I need to check out this book on mental disorders for psychology. Something about the nut house or something."
2015-09-10 06:52:30 -

"You mean the psychiatric ward? That's the politically correct name. It should be....over here." He led her over to a nonfiction aisle on psychology. He'd been here several times now and had basically memorized the layout.

"Yes, that. Thank you." She looked over the shelves, and grabbed the last copy. Looks like everyone else was smart enough to borrow books and not buy them.

He went over to the neighboring row and picked up one about neurology. When he glanced up to see if she was still where she had been, he noticed one of the librarians, a woman in her forties or so, watching him with obvious disbelief. He raised an eyebrow and paced back and forth a few times up and down the aisle of books to make sure she was actually looking at him and not just staring off into space in his general direction. When it became clear that her focus was indeed on him, he approached her cart of newly returned books and whispered "Excuse me, am I breaking a rule?" "Wh-what? No, you...."

Rayne returned to Kinsley after checking out her book and gave him a confused look. What was....?
2015-09-10 07:06:46 -
🌀
"......Kaleb? Kaleb Devlin?" "I'm sorry, you seem to have mistaken me for someone else." He recalled seeing that name on the memorial plaque. Now /that/ was an odd mistake to make.
2015-09-10 07:10:02 -

Rayne furrowed her eyebrows. "Kinsley...what's going on?"She asked.
2015-09-10 07:11:11 -

"I'm not entirely sure, but I think this woman needs to lie down and/or receive some time off, as she's clearly under high amounts of duress." "No, I saw you die, you were shot in the head, but that was ten years ago, you still look...." Her words were starting to scare him, and he stepped backwards, away from her.
2015-09-10 07:16:24 -
●
"You know being around too many books can overwhelm people. I should know. I study psychology." She took Kinsley's arm, leading him away from the woman.

She shook her head with confusion. Even if he had somehow survived, shouldn't he have aged at least a /little/? Then she saw his hearing aids. Yes. This was definitely the same boy. If he hadn't turned those off, he might've had better warning and been able to take cover before the shooter began his work. But this didn't make any sense.
"I myself am fine. Perhaps it's more the constant whispering." Kinsley glanced back at her nervously every few seconds. Kaleb Devlin. Why would she mistake him for a dead boy?
2015-09-10 07:23:23 -
●
"Possibly." She whispered back. " She might need some help of her own."
2015-09-10 07:25:45 -
🌀
"Using what techniques you've learned to help her might earn you extra credit. She seemed to be fine until she saw me, though. I wonder what triggered it."
2015-09-10 07:27:14 -
●
"No idea. It'd probably be best to leave and her some time to chill."
2015-09-10 07:30:12 -
🌀
"Most likely. However, letting her remain exposed to the public in that state seems irresponsible."
