Well, that was comforting. He lifted the glass and sniffed it, almost sneezing. Then he took a hesitant sip. ...oh. That wasn't so bad. And he wasn't immediately feeling dizzy.

When Kinsley smelled the glass, she then notice something in his ear. "Hmm?" She looked from the device then to him. "What's that?" She asked, completely curious.

He looked up. "What's what?" Her words were slightly muffled with only one, and it seemed like the other aid's batteries were on their way to dying or breaking as well. Hopefully they'd at least last the night. And he could always read lips if it came to that.

"That. Right here." She pointed to her own ear to subtly point it out. Hmmm?

His own hand went up to his ear. Oh, crap, he hadn't hid it right. "...oh. That's....a hearing aid."
2015-08-04 07:51:54 -
●
A hearing aid? "Oh really?" She asked, her interest peaked. Well this was a nice conversation to start out with. For once, no sarcasm implied. "So you can't hear out of that ear without it or?"
2015-08-04 07:53:15 -
🌀
"Yes. ...or the other, actually. But there's something wrong with that one."
2015-08-04 07:54:19 -
●
"Well that's a damn shame." She took a sip of her own champagne glass. " I assume you had to learn sign language then?"
2015-08-04 07:56:14 -
🌀
He thought about this for a moment. "Probably? It seems like I've always known it. But not many other people do, so I usually just read lips when the situation calls for it."
2015-08-04 08:00:22 -
●
"Well, I don't know a little bit of sign language. Well...a phrase, mostly. A friend taught it to me in high school. She said it meant ' I enjoy your company' or something along those lines."
2015-08-04 08:02:32 -
🌀
"Oh. That's a good phrase to know. You can assume the response without knowing anything further, and it can be used in most conversations without much context. Show me."
2015-08-04 08:09:54 -
●
She thought for a second, thinking back to when her friend showed her, and repeated the gesture. Same signs, same quickness.
2015-08-04 08:12:02 -
🌀
He stared at her hands for a second, slowly flushing, then gave her a weird look. "...um....are you sure you had that right?"
2015-08-04 08:15:12 -
●
She noticed his change in body language and expression. "Yes. I am certain. Why?"
2015-08-04 08:16:31 -
🌀
"....because you just said 'Let's fuck in the bathroom. Get the Vaseline'."
2015-08-04 08:18:25 -
●
"Oh my God." She whispered to herself, face palming at her mistake. God dammit, she knew she shouldn't of listened to her friend. "Well I'm going to need a couple more the /these/" She tapped the champagne bottle. "Before that happens."
2015-08-04 08:21:17 -
🌀
"I mean, I /guess/ that could be used without context as well, but the response is a little less predictable...." He was still red, and took a sip of champagne to distract himself. He would probably need five to make that happen. Not like he would. She didn't even have five bottles, did she? Anyway, he didn't have any interest in....right, well, haha, let's change the subject.
2015-08-04 08:25:50 -
●
"Actually, you'd surprised." She finished off her glass and poured herself another drink. "But, lets not get into that. Those details are a bit more not safe for work than what I just signed."
2015-08-04 08:29:59 -
🌀
".....please." He really didn't want to know, for once.
2015-08-04 08:32:28 -

The smell of Zaria's cooking slowly trailed into the room. Rayne took a deep inhale through her nose. "That smells /really/ good." she commented.
2015-08-04 08:34:27 -
🌀
Oh, it really did. "You weren't kidding about her being a good cook. She said she was making Chinese?"
2015-08-04 21:36:48 -
●
"Mhmm. I think so. She always keeps what she cooks a surprise though. I can guarantee it's good, though. She's got degrees for it and everything." Rayne gestured to the many diplomas on the wall behind him.
2015-08-04 21:38:21 -
🌀
He turned in his chair to look. Cooking diplomas. Now /that/ was impressive. "So she graduated college." ...had he gone to college at some point? He didn't know....
2015-08-04 21:49:28 -

"Mhmm. How she got the money to attend? I have no idea, but she did. I think it's how she got such a great bar-tending job."
2015-08-04 21:50:30 -
🌀
"She's a bartender /and/ a cook? Well, she could have gotten shifts at fast-food restaurants and saved from there."
