He raised his face in surprise at the smile and friendly greeting. Lance didn't immediately hate him? He wasn't sure why that was surprising. It was Lance, after all. He had a dazed expression as he soaked in his first smile directed specifically at him from a man this handsome for a second. "Ah...th-thank you. I do. Does that mean....I can stay...?" he asked hopefully.

Immediately there was the sound of thuds sprinting across the hall and down the steps. Ivory stopped once she hit the bottom steps, then froze, looking at Lance. "You dirty fucking liar. I hope your wings get stuck in the door frame again."

Kinsley frowned a little. Well, that seemed unnecessary, whatever it was. He moved towards Ivory, holding out his hand. "Hello, I'm Kinsley, Cale's angel."

"Yes. He's staying with us for a while."

About a week later, Tassek was worried to some extent. Rayne hadn't been coming to school, and he hadn't even seen her at the library. After class that day, he decided to go back to her place and check on her. Even if she was just skipping out and yelled at him for being creepy, at least he'd know she was alive. On the way, he came across Seculus coming out of Walgreen's with bandages. He'd put some on his hands a few days back and wouldn't say why, and he kept replacing them. They also seemed to be traveling up his arms, if that was possible. "Where are you going?" With a sigh, Tassek answered "To see a friend." "...may I come with?" He sighed again. "Fine. Whatever. Just don't weird them out, and can't you put those things /away/?" He was referring to Seculus's wings, of course, which, of course, he could not as of yet. And so shortly they arrived at the living area attached to the pawn shop and Tassek knocked.

Rayne didn't feel like coming to school the next day. Or the library. Then the day after that. And after that too. She just stayed in bed, sleeping. Not bothering to really even eat. Now she heard the door lock, which woke her up from her sleep. "Raven could you get that?" She groaned as she rolled over. She really hadn't even spoke to Raven since that night.

Raven sighed and got up. She really hadn't been herself since then....Kinsley was dead, for sure. He went to the door and opened it. Oh, there was the cursed princess, and......no. No, it couldn't possibly be. "B...BIG BROTHER!!" With the biggest grin, Raven lunged forward and grabbed Seculus in a bear hug. Naturally the other boy was immensely confused, and went rigid for a second. What? Did he know him? Big brother....big......oh, goodness. "R-Russel, please let go, I can't breathe," he squeaked. How was it even possible that the little kid from his past life was still alive, and so young? Then he remembered the glimpse he'd gotten of the grin before being attacked. Had he had...fangs?

Shouting? There was yelling? It didn't sound like angry shouts. Slowly, she threw back the covers and exited the bed. She stepped out of her bedroom and into the hallway. "...What's going on?" Rayne asked, still half asleep. The smears from her makeup were all over her face, and her skin seemed more sickly pale. She had been crying again recently, for sure.

Tassek was staring at the two in complete confusion until Rayne appeared and he transferred his attention to her. "Holy shit, you look terrible." Real gentle, Tassek. Raven let go of Seculus and turned his grin in Rayne's direction, but it faded when he saw the state she was in. Then it brightened once more when he realized that, hey, maybe this could cheer her up! He grabbed Seculus's hands and dragged him over to her as the angel spread his wings behind him in a failed attempt to slow himself down. "Look! It's Seth!!"

Rayne stared at the two of them for a second before coming out of her sleepy daze. "Oh. I'm fine, but....Raven, what the fuck is on his back?" She asked, completely and utterly confused. If Raven was trying to play a joke, it wasn't funny. Nothing was funny right now.
