"No, hold on. We can just ask them ourselves." I went upstairs to the guest room they had been left to recover in and picked them up, carrying them back to the living room while purple sparks gathered in my hands. I doubt it'll be instantaneous, but it should at least speed things up.

They laughed for a couple of seconds at first while I caught my breath, but then their expression turned to horror. "Oh my god, he found me...! I-Is Ivory okay??" "Ivory's fine, she's back at the apartment with Seculus." "Why would you--!" "The /real/ Seculus. As far as I can tell. To an extent. She's going to be fine, though, we came up with a plan after we got Sec inside. I sped up the soul healing so you could help. How do you feel?" "....cold.....my head hurts. .....hungry?"

Ren waited for the signal from Ivory, and released the chain. Then everything started getting colder. He must be getting close. Since they didn't have time to climb the wall, they disappeared and hid under the desk, trying to empty their head. This guy could probably read minds too, it would only make sense. They held their breath as they heard approaching footsteps, and the pounding of their heart was foreign to them. The sunlight from the doorway was blocked out by his silhouette, and he glanced around the room for a second. He turned, as if to leave, then spun back around, and icicles shot up from the ground all over the room, forcing Ren to leap out from under the table and climb on top with a clatter. He smirked as they reappeared, grin turning to terror, and kicked at the table as if kicking up dust. A wave of crackling ice rolled quickly towards it, up the wood, and around Ren, until it covered their head. The spikes began melting as he stepped inside, examining them for a moment before he simply shoved them off the table and they fell to the floor with a loud /crack/, shattering into a thousand pieces. He picked up a twisted piece of frozen dagger and left, satisfied with his work.

Ivory awoke with a gasp, trembling a bit from both the cold room and what she just saw. Why this? Why now? She looked over at the mess of ice. I seemed Ren was gone. Were they alive now? This quickly. Well, she couldn't doubt them. Quickly, she stood up, and moved back inside the castle.

The gates opened for her from the inside this time, and the doors to the castle swung wide when she approached. Seculus and Sarandiel were still in the chamber, the former curled up silently on the pile of pillows with a small fortress built around him, complete with turrets and a little arched door.
