"/So do I, dammit/." I remained persistent, keeping pace with her and drawing my axe with my other hand. Ren tried to keep up behind us, but they didn't really want to go anywhere near him. He took another step and spikes appeared in the doorway of the room.

"Of course I will." He changed trajectory to move towards me, waved his hand, and ice formed around my feet and legs almost immediately. I looked down and tried to free myself. ....nothing. "Ivory, hold on!"

The chilling water refroze on my legs in the cold room, and I made a cracking, painful sound with every step after that. Seculus looked over at Ivory and froze her as well, up to her neck.

While his attention was on her, I tried to sneak up on him with my axe, but I was too loud now, and he simply turned--

Madison froze in place from head to toe, eyes wide. Ren still stood back, hands clutched to their mouth and trembling, trying not to cry.

Seculus decided he was done with Madison and began walking back towards her, a little faster now. Ren lowered their hands to force a terrified grin onto their face and they vanished, footsteps tapping on the ice as they went to huddle behind one of the newly created stalagmites of ice.
