The shirt started to burn, and he grunted in pain as it burned his skin in the process. He brought a hand to the fabric, which put it out but burned his hand in the process too.

He ran it along the sleeves and collar. Then he tugged a sample container of lighter fluid out of his pocket and tipped it onto Clarenz's chest. "....bye-bye, bunny."

Shit. /Shit./ He managed to get out of Beckett's grasp, but not before the shirt was set on fire.

He snickered and took a step back to watch. The door opened again.
Seculus and I were in the process of moving out. We'd gotten the apartment, and split the cost fifty-fifty, so it worked out pretty well. He'd gotten all his stuff there, but I'd noticed while we were unpacking that I'd left the suit Ivory bought me here. I haven't had a chance to wear it yet, but I definitely don't want to leave it behind. I sensed an angel and devil before I entered, but thought nothing of it. Clarenz, as usual, or Lance, and maybe Louhkie or someone. ...that definitely wasn't who it was. I froze at the sight of Clarenz in flames, and Beckett watching with a terrifying grin. "/Holy/--" He spun on one foot to look at me. "Isn't it beautiful?" "WHAT THE FUCK DID YOU DO?!" I grabbed the doormat and ran at Clarenz to try and put him out, but Beckett grabbed me by the arm. I twisted it away, and he bared his teeth at me. "STOP BEING SUCH A GODDAMNED BUSYBODY!" He jabbed his lighter at me and it caught on my collar.

His gaze turned. Oh good. Madison was here. Thankfully, this distract Beckett enough for Clarenz to pull off his shirt and toss it to the floor before he made a run for it to get water.

/Oh god/--PUT IT OUT, PUT IT OUT--It's hot itshotitsHOTIMGOINGTODIE--
He screamed and flailed at the flames, which only caused them to spread to his sleeves. Quickly, the panic became too much and his eyes rolled back in his head and he slumped to the ground, the fire on one sleeve extinguished as it was pinned underneath him.

Clarenz made it back with the largest glass of water he could, and immeditly put the fire out.
There was another ring of the bell, and Ivory stepped into the shop. At first, Ivory was slightly confused at the burns and the scene before her, then she quickly put it together, and locked her gaze on to Beckett, eyes filled with fury. "Are you. /FUCKING/ kidding me?!" She took a few steps towards him.

He was still grinning. He looked at her. Then he walked around her and left.

She reached out and grabbed him by the wrist before he could get to the door. A loud snap was heard when she did.

He flinched and bit his tongue. It started to bleed. He jerked his limp limb out of her grasp and clutched it to his chest, backing out the door.

She immediately turned towards him, and started to follow.

"/And you said you wouldn't./" She snapped, venom in her words.

"I rethought."

"And I keep my promises." She reached out and grabbed his other wrist. Another snap.

He couldn't bite it back this time. "GGAHHH!" He shoved her away with his elbow and ran for it.

"AND IF YOU LIE TO ME /EVER/ AGAIN I'LL BREAK YOUR FUCKING LEGS!" She called before going back inside.

Now doused in water, flames gone out, Madison lay passed out by the stairs. His neck and wrists were burned, but not too badly.

With one last look at Beckett, Ivory turned and moved back into the shop. She locked the door behind her. Fuck this.

His eyes fluttered open for a second before his expression went blank.
Mikael spread the second draft of the blueprints out on his desk and examined them closely for any further flaws, tapping his pencil absently on his nose in the meantime. This could make or break his career. Well, probably. Probably not. Oh well, thinking about it that way made him more determined to get it exactly right.
Halfway through, he took a coffee break and made an extra copy of the blueprints before he made any further edits. When he arrived at the copy machine, he noticed it was unplugged. Strange. When he did plug it in, the socket didn't completely fit. Someone would have to fix that. Not him, though. It wasn't as if he had a way to bend it back into shape. Mikael took the fresh copy and returned to his office.
He was in the midst of adding a beam to the foundations of the building when he took a breath and smelled smoke. Did someone burn their lunch? No, it was mid-afternoon, lunch break was over. He went to the door and reached out to open it and call down the hall to find out what was happening. He jerked it back at the intense heat and stared at a red scald mark now spreading across his palm. Carefully, he touched the wood of the door. Also hot, but not quite enough to burn. It took him several seconds to realize what was going on.
"Skit. /Skit/!" He backed away from the door and grabbed the phone. All he received was a dial tone. They had a landline, the latest, and some of the wiring must be burnt, or worse, already faulty. He hadn't exactly used this phone much. The intercom was in a similar state. He went to the window. The seventh floor, and nothing to rappel down with. That would be a much worse way to go. Someone had to come for him eventually. Right?
The flames had spread under the door during the last half-hour of no one coming. Mikael huddled in the far corner of his office. He'd dumped a water bottle over his head to keep cool, and had his handkerchief over his mouth to keep out the smoke. But he wouldn't last long. There was nothing left to do but wait to die. The more he thought about it, the more he just wanted it over. What would hurt less, the smoke or the fire?
The fire.

Upon returning, Clarenz opened his mouth to say something, but Ivory just shot him a glare. Literally shut the fuck up right now. She walked past him, got the first aid kit, moved Madison against the wall, and started to fix his burns.

He started shaking as he blinked himself back to reality, tears appearing in his eyes from -- the smoke? Panic? "Jag kommer att dΓΆ, Γ€r allt i brand och det tar mig...!"

She kept her focus on the burns, too familiar with this now. "Take a deep breath and relax." She spoke. "It was a memory and Beckett can't hurt anyone now."
2015-12-29 05:58:41 -
π
"Hhhh, ahhh, th-that was, that was how I /died/?"
2015-12-29 06:01:59 -
β
"I'm assuming so, if that's your first one. This is going to hurt." She started to disinfect the burn on his neck.
